"You do remember what happened last time into the field? You jeopardized the mission, claiming you saw Bradley." Lex chastises when we are alone. "But I really did see him Lex! He was feeding on a human and when he saw me, he ran!" I exclaim. "Enough, Aria!" Lex yells and I go silent. "When you went missing on that mission, it scared the daylights out of me! I turned around for a few seconds, and you were nowhere to be seen. You're the only person I have after Dad died, I had to take care of Ashten and Moon with Mom. I don't know what I'd do without you." Lex cups my face, looking into my eyes. My heart starts to race, my blood flooding to my cheeks. Lex coughs and looks away, "Alright, let's go to the training room, you'll need all the training you can get. 'sigh' "Alright, allons-y." I huff. Lex starts to walk into the training room, releasing my face.
In the training room, there's punching bags, throwing stars, bo staffs, and archery bows and arrows. "Which one do you want to do? In the city I can't exactly bring a bow or a bo staff in public." I scratch my head nervously. "Well you could practice throwing stars and hand to hand combat, Aria. After throwing a dozen, do you want to spar with me? You don't have to, but you need some practice." Lex looks and me and smiles, flustered. "Sure Lex, it can help when there's an opponent to physically fight." I chuckle. "I agree, it gives it more realism." Lex smiles. I walk to the star station and start throwing.
After throwing fifty stars, I go to Lex who is fighting an imaginary opponent. "Winning? Or is he just taking it easy on you?" I tease. Lex turns around and snickers. "You could say that. You done with throwing stars? Or are you just taking a break?" Lex smiles. "Shut up." I chuckle. "Well, come on up here, i'm not going to carry you." Lex teases. I smile and roll my eyes at him. I pull myself up into the ring and go into my battle stance. Lex copies my stance and waits for the first strike.
We heard a crash coming from outside and I took the opportunity to sweep Lex's feet out from under him. "Never lose focus, don't you know the first rule of fighting? It's the first rule in the book." I smile at Lex, who is sprawled against the ground. "Well never celebrate early, you could lose focus and lose very quickly." Lex grabs my arm and pulls me down, getting on me with his hand on my throat. "Gasp! You're good." I gulp and say hesitantly. "Are you going to get off me or are you going to kiss me?" Lex blushes profusely and quickly gets off me. "You wish." he says when he regains his composure. Lex leans his hand down and I take it, getting up. "Yeah, no one could get with me." I wink. Lex laughs and we spar again.
After sparring for a half an hour, I had to go and get ready for the mission. I grab some stars from my locker, some trackers and a radio. You never know if you might need them. "Aria, you're leaving already? Not even saying goodbye or anything? This is your first mission in a long time." Logan says, with Bransen in behind. "I'm scouting the perimeter, it's not even a big deal guys." I smile. "What if Bradley returns? Then you would have gone without saying your last words to us!" Logan says. "I grab them both in a hug. "I'm going to be fine, I'll be back before you know it. Just in time for the rave, too. Have faith in me. Jeez." Logan and Bransen both sigh in unison. "Alright, just be careful." Bransen says. "Yeah yeah, well I have to go guys." They let go and say their goodbyes. I head out and go to the gate. "Scout, let me through." the guard lets me through, onto Moncton territory. The humans domain.
