Chapter 15

Chapter 15

Devyn Dexter's Pov

"It's about some prophecy"

Prophecy what prophecy?

"We can't talk about this over the phone. My Dad's here. See you in 15 minutes" I said to them.

All they did was nod in agreement hanging up the phone not too long after.

Once the call ended I got a bag with some clothes and other necessities.

I wasn't planning to spend the night with him in this house. All the trust that I had for him was gone.

I then headed downstairs to only meet my father again.

I don't know what I expected. Of course, he would be there.

Knowing him he'll ask a bunch of unnecessary questions which will only cause problems on my end.

In my estimation, I was becoming a much better liar.

I noticed that he was looking at the backpack around my shoulder.

I was then met by a disapproving stare.

"Where are you going?" He asked me, looking annoyed.

"I'm going to meet up with the others. I haven't seen them in days. I'm planning to sleep over at Ginny's.

Since I don't want to travel back home when it's late" I said with a stoic expression trying to conceal my hidden motives.

"You just got out of the hospital. I don't think that's a good idea" He said as if he was looking down at me.

"And if I heard right the doctor said I was doing much better. Now if you may excuse me I said I would be there in 15 minutes". I said to him preparing to walk off.

I then felt him grab my sore wrist. He's never done this before.

I felt my heart begin to race. I was in no condition to defend myself if he was planning to do something.

I turned around to face him.

" Can you let me go? You're hurting me" I said to him.

I could feel tears form in my eyes but I tried to hold them back.

He then let go of my wrist.

"At least take your medication before you go". He said to me.

I already knew this was coming. I didn't know he would ask me to take them so soon.

I walked over to take a bottle of water.

" The pill, please," I said reaching out my hand to collect the pill.

"Of course sweetheart," he said smiling at me.

I took some of the water then put the pill in my mouth pretending to swallow it.

I smiled at him as I left the house a word.

As I exited the house I took the pill out and threw it away.

Now it was finally time to meet the others.

I remembered the path quite well. I have no idea why no one else knows about it.

As I approached the treehouse I noticed people walk right past it as if they didn't see me or the random treehouse that was there.

I mean it's good for us but how can they not notice it.

As soon as they passed I climbed up the ladder only to be met by the others.

"I'm here," I said to them

I then noticed Ginny quickly get up greeting me with a hug.

"Are you okay? What were you thinking using your powers so much you idiot" She said as she continued to hug me.

I was quite surprised by the sudden friendliness Ginny greeted me with.

Not that I'm objecting.

"Is Ginny okay?" I asked the others jokingly.

"She's been like this ever since she found out you were in the hospital," Oliver said to me.

Ginny and I then sat down beside the others. I put my bag down as well.

"Devyn, I suggest you go first.". Damon said.

I didn't think much about what Damon said.

" I was unconscious for 3 days. When I woke up to be released I heard my Dad talking to the doctor.

They said they were putting me on some medication to suppress my powers. When that's done they are planning to hand me over to the government.

My mom doesn't know anything about this. I have no idea where she is now.

Before I came here my Dad gave me the pill to take but I threw it away when he wasn't there" I said trying to summarize everything that had just happened.

"So your mom has no idea about any of this. Do you think we should trust her?" Oliver asked.

" I don't know. I haven't seen her. I don't think we can just ask her either.

But until then we still need to act normal. Know what were y'all saying about a prophecy?" I asked them.

"When you were gone we thought it would be best to continue reading the books. We finally made it to book 13, the last book we have.

Unlike the others it was non-fictional. It was more like a diary but without a name or a known owner," Oliver said.

"The book spoke of a prophecy that has been in the making since the beginning of time.

The prophecy is basically about a group of 4 powerful beings who fight off the forces of evil." Ginny managed to explain.

It says that History keeps repeating itself, as the four and the evil forces keep being reincarnated.

The only thing that's concerning for the four they don't retain the knowledge of their past life while those evil forces that were reborn have all the memories that belonged to their past lives.

Which puts the four at an extreme disadvantage." Damon tried to explain to me.

"But lucky for the four they have guardians on forces fighting along their sides in the background," Oliver said to me with a slight smile.

"Why is this important to us?" I asked them intrigued by what they were saying to me but wondering what all of this meant for us.

"In simple terms what we are trying to say is that we are the reincarnated four," Ginny said to me.
