Confession

I sent my Aunt a text, letting her know that I'm inviting people over to her house. She didn't mind the others so she was fine with it.

"You guys met her countless of times, it's fine." I reassured the others. I'm not sure on why they were scared to have a proper conversation with her. They just brushed off the feeling and stood behind me as I knocked on the door. Not even a second passed and she opened the door for us.

"Hey sweetie. Oh welcome guys. Come in, come in." She opened the door fully so we can all enter the house. It had some nice decorations, some of my pictures were on the walls. I led the others to the living room where we all sat. I knew James was home, but he always hides out upstairs.

"It's nice to see you again."

"Hi Beth." Both of the boys greeted her. She gave him a quick side eye before giving both of them hugs.

"So, would any of you like to explain what happened today?" She leaned back into her reclining chair. She had a serious tone causing the others to get nervous.

"Demons came, we killed them." I answered for them. There was a silence before Niven tried striking a conversation.

"What do you do for a living?" He put his bookbag on the floor next to him.

"It's best if we don't speak of it. How long have you guys known each other?" She gave me a little side eye, giving me the cue to leave the room. I stepped out and went into the kitchen, looking for a cold drink. I let them have their little conversation for now. I went upstairs to look for James. I end up knocking on one of the guest rooms. He opens the door, revealing the papers all over the desk and bookshelves stacked with spell books.

"What's up kid?" He leaned on the door frame.

"Do you have a book for my storm powers? Whether it's spells or instructions of some sort." I took another sip of my drink before trying to get into the room. James got in the way, nodding his head.

"I might. I'll look for some right now. Is there a particular reason?" James wondered.

"No, I just want to learn more and get more powerful. Whenever you find any, can you bring them downstairs?" I pleaded. He nodded his head in agreement. I thanked him before heading back downstairs.

As I walked in, all heads turned to face me. I stared at them awkwardly before sitting back down. I'm hoping James won't tell Beth that I asked for any books. She might throw a fit of some sort and interrogate me on why I want the books. It's only to help me grow stronger, which is the main reason they were created. I looked over to the others and saw that they all seemed relaxed which was a really good sign. The last thing I want is for Beth to hate their guts. They continued their conversation on future majors and school. I sat back and zoned out.

"Vio." Grey snapped me out of it. I turned to face him.

"What school are you planning on attending?" He had a smirk plastered on his face.

"Oh, I haven't really thought about it. I might go to the closest one for arts?" I gave them an honest answer. Aunt Beth nodded her head in approval before Grey asked me a random question.

"Nice. What are your thoughts on me and Niven?" He leaned back into the couch, curious on the answer. Beth gave Grey a side eye before looking at me.

"You guys are annoying and suck." I answered then continued zoning out.

"I'm kidding, you guys are funny and good people. Why is this even the topic?" I curiously asked them.

"Before we were talking about colleges, we were talking about Grey's feelings for-." Niven spit out, before he can continue Grey cut him off.

"Feelings for this sorcerer in our class, yeah. You don't know her." Grey chimed in. I felt my heart shatter like a glass, hearing that sentence escape his mouth.

"Oh. Well, continue on." I left the room to go to James again, a bit anxious. Once I knocked the door, he opened it with two books in his hands. One of the books had a lightning bolt on the front, it had a symbol in the middle of it. The other book had a blank cover, it was a bit concerning. He handed me the books.

"One of them has to do with spells, the other is for storm sorcerer powers. Be cautious with them. These are very powerful spells, okay?" James tried warning me, but we both know that I won't listen to his warnings. I got a quick glimpse in the room behind him and saw a weird artifact on the table. He slightly closed the door, preventing me from looking at it even more.

"Yeah, thank you." I go downstairs and look for my bag. Once I find it, I put the books into it, securely.

"Time for dinner, right?" Aunt Beth got up and clapped her hands. We went towards the dining room, the food was almost done in the oven. I sat next to Grey, Niven sat across from me. I quickly get up to help set up the plates. When we were in the kitchen alone she nudged me. I looked at her confused.

"What?" I take out the plates.

"You and Grey?" She winked at me. I remind myself on what he said earlier.

"He likes someone else, and I don't even have feelings for him. I think." I mumbled the last part. I felt a bit of tension enter the room, so I quickly grabbed the plates and walked out the room. My hand slips causing me to drop some of the plates. Everyone looks back to me.

"What happened?" Niven asked.

"It slipped out of my hands I can clean it up." I carefully pick up the big pieces, keeping in mind that it can slice through my skin in any wrong move. There was a sudden gust of wind causing me to shiver. I hissed as a part of the plate cut my hand. Great. I quickly rushed to the kitchen and threw out the broken parts. I rushed to the bathroom sink which was not too far from the kitchen. I rinsed water over the open wound, watching as the bloody water goes down the sink. I heard a sudden knock on the door, I look back and see Niven.

"You okay? I can heal it." He tried getting closer but I rose my hand up before he can.

"It's fine, no need. You can go back to the others." I gestured him to the door. He gave up and went back to the others. I lock the door once he leaves, staring at myself in the mirror. My eyes were still a violet color in most parts, the others were my sapphire eyes. I looked down at my wrists and saw that the marks were coming back, but even more visible. I'm certain my father did this, I'm unsure of how. They prevent me from getting properly healed as well.

"Olivine Viotto." Beth stared into my eyes, nearly into my soul.

"Yes?" I slowly seat myself. The plates were all out and the food was in the middle of the table.

"Enjoy the food." She gave me a devilish smile. I hesitated at first but took a bit of everything onto my plate.

"So, are you boys seeing someone?" Beth curiously asked them. She has an issue with me being single when I don't mind it at all.

"I'm talking to someone. Grey isn't though." Niven revealed. I looked at him in shock.

"Who?"

"Her name is Daniella. She's a normal human though." I gave him a little supportive smirk.

"Let her know that if she hurts you, I'll hurt her back." I casually took a sip out of my drink. A silence followed through. We all ate in silence.

"Do you have any embarrassing stories about Vio?" Grey started a conversation, not one I liked though. Aunt Beth without hesitation would tell them every story that she remembers.

"Yes actually. Once she had a crush on this boy, and her way of flirting was randomly giving him rocks. One day, she gave him one more and he started questioning her about it. She didn't know what to say so she threw it at him and said 'you need it.'" Aunt Beth started hysterically laughing at the story. I immediately knew what story she was talking about.

"To be fair, I didn't know how to confess. He should've gotten the hints." I defended myself. The others joined in the laughter.

"Oh and one more story. This was before everyone found out who she was the daughter of. Anyways, one of her teachers yelled at Clovis for not doing her homework. She defended Clovis by shouting at the teacher. I won't lie, the teacher was a pain. Olivine didn't stop there and threw pencils at the teacher. She got suspended for two days. Her parents praised her for it while I tried scolding her for it." Aunt Beth ranted. I'm not sure on why she had to mention that people didn't know I was the daughter of the Viottos'. I had used a fake last name, it was Thomas. The table got silent before laughing at the story. I felt Grey staring at me throughout the afternoon, I sometimes returned the glare. I excused myself to go outside for a quick breather. To my surprise, Grey followed.

"Are you okay?" I heard him ask. I looked back to him before looking up to the sunset.

"Yeah, I'll be fine. I want to hear more about the girl." I mumbled. I heard him laugh a bit before standing next to me.

"You know her. She's a pain, but she's amazing. Do you want to know her name?" Grey asked. I turned my body to face him. I nodded and he let out a sigh.

"You." He revealed the girl. I guess I had a weird face because Grey started laughing. He pat my head before turning to face the sunset.

"How are you so smart yet so clueless at the same time? I don't need you to respond to my confession. I just needed to say it." Grey went back inside, leaving me outside speechless.

I go back inside a few minutes later and we all spend the rest of the time talking, I couldn't stop staring at Grey. He would realize and wink at me, causing me to roll my eyes at him. Once we were all leaving, I secured my bag and the books within them.

"Thank you for having us over. It was a pleasure meeting you." Niven said goodbye to my Aunt.

"It was nice meeting you, hopefully we can talk again soon." Grey gave her a hug before shortly leaving the house. I followed behind them, waving to her. The moon was bright, the birds flying in the sky. I took a second to enjoy the moment we were sharing together. I looked over to the others and saw that both of them were admiring the sky as well. This final moment with them, helped make my final decision.

"We should get going now. It was fun today you guys. I'll see you guys in school tomorrow." I gave them final hugs. I felt a sense of guilt growing within me. It's for the best. I still had sometime with them before I wanted to leave.

We all made our own portals and walked into them, shortly closing them after. I immediately took out the books and started practicing.

Hours have passed by, I broke some pieces of furniture but it's fixable. I took a break to write letters. At least one letter per person, revealing hidden emotions for most of them.
