The Great fall

"All right! It's my time to shine! Let's summon a fifty meters golem or a floating island and conquer the world!"

Of course Ray was half joking as he said that, but this didn't mean his aim to summon something big was in any way false.

Having been born with extreme luck, Ray always walked with the world in his favor, so this time as well he imagined that everything would be okay.

As he entered the tent he saw an old man peacefully sleeping in the chair in front of the summoning circle.

Not caring about being rude or anything Ray called out in a loud voice.

"Hey old man, wake up!"

Unfortunately the old man continued to sleep as if a spell was cast on him making him unable to wake up. But Ray didn't give up! If his voice didn't work, how about a little push?

"Hey! Wake! Up! Old! Man!"

Pushing and pulling the old man back and forth, Ray continued to call the old man, who in response started to droll but still didn't wake up.

"Ugh! Disgusting!"

As Ray retreated his hand, to not allow the droll to fall over it, he ended up letting go of the old man, making him fall face first into the floor.

"Ouch! That must have hurt! Hey old man, are you still alive?"

Incredibly as it may sound the old man was still sleeping even in the odd position he currently found himself, with his legs all over the chair and his face covered in earth.

"...is he dead??"

To lighten the burden on his conscience, Ray moved the old man away from the chair and laid him out of the way after cleaning his face a bit.

"Well, whatever, I did the best I could, now, how does this summon business work?"

With nobody to give him instructions, Ray decided that it would be up to himself to summon his first partner on his own.

The tent only had the old man, the chair, and the summoning circle, so it didn't take a genius to guess that the summoning circle would be the key to the summoning process.

Ray remembered the artifacts he had at his house, all of them were powered by elemental energy stones so he concluded that this summoning circle should be no different.

"Excuse me, old man..."

After excusing himself, Ray searched the old man for some kind of artifact or elemental stone that would be used to turn on the summoning circle but he had no luck, making him extremely annoyed.

"Damn it. This old man only got some random talismans, his smoking pipe and some coins. He has nothing useful at all!"

Ray stood over the summoning circle and kneeled down to observe it closely.

"But this is odd, if this summoning circle is correct, how do they summon those giant beasts in such a small space??"

Naturally the energy on his body started slowly charging the whole thing without anyone noticing...

"Maybe this is not the real thing? Or there's a trick somewhere?"

Ray continued to observe the circle, searching for something off place.

"Ugh! Damn it! What do I do now? Wait, isn't this place getting a little brighter??"

As he noticed the change a flash of light blinded his vision and the first thing he saw was an infinite desert all around him.

"Damn the Dark Lord! It seems like I messed up real good this time! How did I ended up here!?"

--//--

In the Wind Spirit Plane, Sun was now having the worst experience of his life.

"I hate heights! I hate heights! I simply completely hate heights!!"

After being caught in a branch as he feel down the cliff, Sun was now stuck in the middle of the cliff, unable to climb up or down.

"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!"

His heart was beating fast and tears fell from his eyes as he observed the talismans, his only way back, slowly drifting in the wind after falling his hands.

"What do I do now?? Why did I had the bright idea of running instead of walking!? Who forgot to put the warning sign of the cliff!? Damn the Dark Lord! How can I be so unlucky!?"

He view he had from that place was magnificent, but Sun was in no way in the mood to appreciate it. All he wanted was a way down, a way up, or a way out of there. Any way was good, it didn't matter where it led, as long as it took him out of this cliff!

"I'm sorry dad for skipping work. I'm sorry mom for never helping out at home. I'm sorry sis for stealing your pudding and forgetting to buy you a new one. I'm sorr-"

Crack!

As Sun started making his prayers, the branch that was holding him started to crack...

"Oh no! Please dear lord of the elementals, save this poor person's soul! Don't allow him into your kingdom while he is still inexpedient and immature! Don't-"

As the unfaithful would say, no amount of prayers would save him now. The crack expanded at once, making the outer part of the branch fall. Sun tried to grab on whatever he could but his efforts were in vain, and soon Gravity made sure to guide him to his destined place.

"Nooo!!!!!!"

Looking for the first time at what was right below him, Sun saw a big river that extended from north until south, following the contour of the cliff located on it's east side. On the river's sides there were innumerous rocks, if Sun fell on them, there's no need to say what would happen.

Seeing his last hope was to fall right in the middle of the river, Sun tried all methods he could think of to try to distance himself from the cliff. He swung around his arms, tried to swim like a frog, tried to push himself by hitting the cliff but nothing worked well. Still, not working well was better than not working at all, and finally, as he was only a few hundred meters from the river, he was able to position himself at the right place thanks to all his efforts plus a lot of luck, but he didn't have any time to celebrate because as soon as he noticed he had reached the safe zone, he also fell into the river.

Sun may have fear of heights but he had no such a feeling for water. Actually, when he was younger, he and Ray would frequently play by the river or even in the river when it was really hot. Sun learned how to swim by himself and while his skills wouldn't win him any medal, it was still more than enough to ensure he kept himself afloat as long as the current was not too strong.

Using his self taught swimming skills, Sun slowly but surely approached the margin and got himself out of the water.

"Ah! Ha... ha... ha... ha... I never want to do this again!"

Feeling mentally exhausted, Sun took some time to recover his calm.

"Damn! I'm so dead! All my talismans were taken by the wind, and now I have no means to go back to the real world!"

Suddenly a shadow approaches him from behind and a sweet voice talk near his ear, scaring the heck out of him.

"Hey! You! Are you okay??"
