First Day (II)

The young man, named Chance Bailey, was ready for his first day of class, although it was just six in the morning. He wanted to be the first person to arrive at his school so he could have a peaceful time before his classmates got into the class.

He walked downstairs, well-dressed with his bag. The maids glanced at him with their eyes wide. They sprinted towards him but he stopped them and smiled at them.

"I'm fine. You can do your job so no need to serve me." He mumbled before ambled straight to the kitchen.

"But, young master."

He stopped his track and glanced at her. He shook his head and patted her shoulder, reassuring her that he's good.

"Mama Nina, it's okay. Just do what you need to do and have breakfast. I can take care of myself."

His Mama Nina was his nanny for a very long time so it was her habit to serve and take care of him.

"You are now a grown man. I'm proud of you, my son." She muttered softly.

He chuckled and hugged her. "Well, you raised me well, Mama Nina."

He loosened the hug and smiled. "I'm glad to hear that."

Then, he walked to the kitchen. Afterward, his eyes gazed at his brother, who had just got back to his morning workout when he heard his footsteps towards the kitchen.

"Why are you so early, my little brother?" His brother asked while grabbing his protein shake inside the refrigerator.

He chose to ignore him and grabbed his morning breakfast. "You are an ignorant brother, Chance. I'm asking you why you are late and you didn't even answer the query." His oldest brother babbled in frustration.

His eyes rolled when his brother was very immature. He didn't like to talk to anyone, especially in the morning. "Anie!" He whined as he wrapped his arms around his little brother.

He sighed in annoyance and removed his brother's arms around his neck. He glared at him but his brother just responded with a laugh.

"I can't believe you, Caine."

"Well, what brothers are for. Anyway, I made you a toast and some hot chocolate like you want." He mumbled.

"Thank you… Caine." He looked away and whispered but it was enough to hear it.

Cain was struck in awe when his brother was very timid when telling an appreciation to his brothers. "You are so cute, Aine."

He groaned in frustration and hit his brother's head. "For the last time, Caine! Don't call me Aine!" He cried out before he grabbed his toast and hot chocolate...

"You can't stop me from calling you that, Aine! Have a great day, don't be rude to anyone, and lastly, say 'hi' to Aly for me."

He stopped his track when he heard Aly's name for his brother. He turned around to face him and glared at him before he stepped out of their mansion.

"He's a pain in my ass." He asserted while eating his toast.

"Shall we go, Mr. Chance?" The driver asked.

He responded with a nod and strolled inside the car. The driver sprinted to the driver's seat and stepped inside. He started the engine and drove to their destination.

Chance leaned his head to the window as he gazed at the busy road. "Do you have to go to your school too early?" The driver broke the silence between them.

He heaved a deep, heavy sigh and nodded. "I don't like loud students when I'm wandering around the hallway."

He hummed. "You are just like your father, Sir."

"I know. That's why we are very close, unlike my mother."

———

As Alyssum's car reached her prestigious school, her driver stepped out of the car to open the car door for her. She smiled at him and grabbed her bag before she walked out of the car.

"Have a nice day, My Lady." The driver said and bowed at her.

She chuckled and patted his shoulder. "We are on the same roof so you don't need to call me 'My Lady'. Just call me, Aly, Rick."

"But your mother wanted us to call you that." He uttered.

Her eyes rolled when her mother took seriously that all of their workers needed to call their boss honorably which is very ridiculous for her. To her, they are her family and they don't need to call her, 'My Lady'.

"Okay, if my mother said that then, you can call me 'My Lady' in front of her but when she's not here, it's okay to call me, Aly, okay?"

He sighed in defeat and responded with a nod. "You know I can't say no to you, Aly. Anyway, you'll be late for your first day. Now, off you go."

She nodded and walked inside the main entrance where the students were busy talking with their friends, muttering about their summer vacation but for her, it was a total disaster.

Her mother wanted her to train how to be a successful CEO for their company and it was tedious for her. And it's very delightful knowing that her summer vacation was over and their class started.

And all of a sudden, she was astonished when someone wrapped an arm around her shoulder. She glanced at it and there she saw her best friend, who was smiling at her.

"Good Morning, Bren." She uttered, widely smiled at her.

"Morning, Aly." She greeted her back.

Alyssum's brow furrowed when her best friend was snickering at her that slither her out. She was taken aback, walking away from her best friend.

"Why are you walking away?" Her friend asked while reaching her out.

"Nothing. I—"

She stopped her words and gasped when abruptly, a strong torso hit her back. She glanced at it and her heart pounded rapidly as she couldn't breathe when she only clasped around her shoulder.

She can't believe that he'll see him in the hallway in the crowd. As she knew, he didn't like crowds, especially on school days. She smiled at him, and didn't want her to let his clasps around her shoulder.

'He's so beautiful.' She thought to herself.

"Aly… I'll let you go since this is getting weird… Also, they are staring at us." He mumbled.

She looked around to see if the other students were staring at them and he was right. And so, she was taken aback, away from him. He shook his head, which was expected by the crowd. But what they didn't expect was from the first time, they heard his chuckle.

"You are unpredictable, Aly. Anyway, Caine said hi to you." He mumbled before he walked out of the crowd.

Her eyes widened as her face shrouded with a blush in embarrassment. Then, her best friend ambled towards her and saw her blush forming all over her cheeks.

"Get over with, Aly." She uttered, striving to fault her laugh. She glared at her best friend before leaving her alone.

'This is embarrassing!' She cries out inside her head.
