You Made Me Special

Since their dinner was at Park's mansion, it took hours of travel to reach it. She didn't notice that they arrived at the mansion. Her mother glanced at her deeply asleep daughter and shook her head.

"She's always like this." Her mother asserted.

"It's your daughter after all. Anyway, we can go inside and wake her up." Her dad said, calmly.

Then, her mother glanced outside and smirked. She turned her face to look at her husband and said, "she'll be fine."

"What do you mean?"

She pointed outside as his father looked where her wife was pointing. He smiled widely and understood what she was trying to say. He nodded and walked outside the car.

He walked towards him and patted his shoulder. "Wake up for us, okay?" Her father said.

"Will do, Mr. Byrne."

He responded with a nod and walked towards the car. He strolled inside the car and sat beside her. His eyes locked to the sleeping beauty and unintentionally, he smiled. He fixed her hair and stared at her a bit before waking her up.

"You're cute when you're sleeping." He whispered.

After a while, Alyssum woke up shaking her body, getting her up. Carefully, she opened her eyes, looking around. Her eyes traveled on her side and shook with her eyes wide when Chance was inside their car, smiling at her.

She fixed her seat and her hair before she implored, "Why are you inside the car?"

His smile never left his lips while staring at her. She felt a shiver down her spine by his intense stare at her. She just pushed her away and stepped out of the car, slamming the door closed.

She strived to calm her by taking a long, deep breath but it was not helping. It's too much for her. He was too beautiful for her.

"Why did he appear from nowhere?! In the car! While I'm sleeping!" She murmured in screamed motion while walking out of the parking lot.

"Aly! Wait up!" Chance screamed while striving to reach her hand.

However, she ignored him as if they didn't know each other. She can't face him because she was embarrassed when he saw her sleeping. She didn't comprehend if she's snoring or sleeping while talking in front of him.

"Aly! Why are you running away?!" Chance said as successfully, he attained her hands to stop her from running away from him.

'Gotcha.' He thought to himself, smiling proudly at what he had done.

She stopped from her track but she didn't turn around to face him. She felt her blush that rushed throughout her cheeks.

"You can look at me, Aly. As if we aren't friends." He uttered in a calm voice.

She sighed deeply and nodded. "Good. Now, turn over." He said.

Slowly, she turned around and faced him. He smiled, widely, knowing that Alyssum can't say no to his request. And also, the same as his. He can't say no to her. For him, she's very special to his heart.

"Are you mad at me?" He asked.

She shook her head in response. "Why am I going to be mad?"

"Well you basically ran away from me."

She rolled her eyes and removed her hands out of his grip. She glanced at him, intensively and crossed her arms.

"Why didn't I? You watched me from my sleep. It's very creepy!" She exclaimed but in her system, she's more worried from what he saw while she's sleeping.

"We have known each other since we were a toddler. I saw you sleep talking and besides, there's no secret between us, Aly."

"But still, we're not a toddler anymore so it's unreasonable to watch while I'm sleeping. It's creepy. Also, you said… There's no secret between us? Why didn't you say that you accepted her offer?"

"What offer?"

"Miranda's offer."

"You heard it from behind, so why bother telling you?" He asked with his brow furrowed.

"It's different from hearing someone coming from the crowd and telling me directly. It's different, Chance." She argued.

"It's not a big deal, Aly."

Then, she responded with a nod and turned back at him. She didn't want to argue about the things that Chance will never understand. It's like she's speaking to a peaceful air. It'll never understand your feelings but then, you feel the air's presence.

"Alyssum, are you mad that I didn't tell you that I accepted Miranda's offer? You know it's not a big deal to me if I go out on a date with her." He muttered as he walked closer to her.

However, she chose to ignore him and just stepped inside the front door, without saying any words.

On the other hand, Chance furrowed his brow while staring at her. He didn't know what's on her mind. Ever since they were in middle school, she's unpredictable. He didn't know how to understand her or even her thoughts. However, she was still his friend that he cherished the most.

As they strolled inside the mansion, they heard a loud conversation in the living room. They glanced at each other before they walked further. They reached the living room and they saw their parents were casually talking about their business.

Alyssum rolled her eyes when their parents were like this even though it was a nice dinner. But what would she expect, they were all business freaks. It's their nature.

"Let's go." Chance said.

Her eyes wide as the shiver down her spine when abruptly, Chance held her right hand. She bit her lips, striving to hide her smile but she couldn't, it's too powerful for her. It's her weakness.

She pulled out on reality when hearing his lowly voice, asking, "Why are you smiling?"

She cleared her throat before she answered, "Nothing."

Then, they walked out of the living room. Her eyes glanced at his hand where he's holding her wrist. She just smiled, liking what she saw.

'Like before. He's always holding my wrist so I won't fall.' She thought to herself.

She glanced at him, backing face at her. 'You always made me feel special.'
