Slow and very dreadful days were turning into weeks since I last saw it. I screamed, and my fist made contact with the mirror, but I didn't feel pain. I was a monster. Monster who was loosing his mind.

Saraphinas POV

The book hit the ground with a loud thump. I turned around quickly, heart pounding. And there I see Jake with his goofy smile. I picked up the book and smacked him. "You gave me a heart attack!" But that only made him laugh more.

"Phina, we are at a library control yourself." He said as if he was mocking me. I was shocked, that sounded nothing like me! But apparently my face was just so funny. Seeing my reaction, he was laughing even more.

I rolled my eyes at him as I put the book back in its shelve. "Immature." I said, but I had to laugh, he always made me feel better.

"Hey,hey. Do I see a smile coming?" He asked amused, following me back to another shelve.

"Jake, don't you have anyone else to annoy? I'm working."

"Well they aren't as fun as you." He said giving me a wink. "Plus the library is practically empty, and Imma say it in the nicest way possible, but the place you work is." He paused. "very boring. It kills all the fun." He said the rest stretching each symbol. Hes face was so serious I couldn't help but laugh.

"Ja-" I started.

"I know, I know, books are amazing, they take you places blah blah blah."

I gave him a glare, but the smile was still on my face."Shut up before I hit you."

"Wow, I'm so scared." He said sarcastically. "Dude your like a head shorter then me, what are you 4 foot."

And this time my glare was real, "Look at yourself giant." I remarked, and he glared back. I counted in my head, one, two, three. And we both busted out laughing.

After a while Jake had to leave. "Cant you close early and come with us? Please." He said giving me puppy dog eyes.

"I cant, I already closed early this week cause you wanted to go down to the beach, which again was freezing cold." I pointed out.

"Well okay." He sighed. "This times were just gonna be in my garage building stuff, so if you want to see some manly stuff, come okay." He said winking again. What was it with him and winking, I bit my lip trying not to laugh. And this was one thing of the many that I love about him, he always made me laugh, even if he was a goofball.

"Okay Jake, if I want to see a bunch of girls sitting around painting each others fingernails and talking about their love interest, I'll come join." I said smiling. "Now go before I kick you out."

"Whoa whoa whoa." He said laughing, "Okay I'm leaving." He gave me a hug. "Be careful okay." I smiled.

"I'm in a library, probably the safest place in the world" I hugged him back, and with that he left, shut the door of the library and left me.

And when the time came for me to lock up the library and go home, I gladly welcomed it. I had started feeling weird after my little encountment in the house, and honestly I couldn't look at it the same way. Not like I told anyone what happened, not even Jake. I didn't want to rush into anything, I just had a feeling I would see them again.

Perzs' POV

I gently moved a piece of its hair off its face. No matter what I did, I couldn't stay away from this thing. She was just a human, and I was a part of a totally different world. This thing wasnt important enough to be called a she, or time to be wasted on. She was just a weak it. A weak it that was driving me crazy.

Saraphina POV

I opened my eyes quickly, and jumped away. Turning on my lights, I felt like there was something in my room. After doing a quick scan, I noticed it was just me alone, like always.

The next day, something felt off. Like a chill that wouldn't leave my body. I looked around to see if I could help anyone at the library, seeing there was no one around to help, I sat down in a chair and started a reading a book. Best part about owning your work area, you did what you wanted whenever you wanted.

"Excuse me?" A voice said.

I screamed and threw my book up which ended up hitting the person. "Bloody hell!I'm so sorry-" I started to say but then I noticed who he was. " Augustus?"

"Hi to you to" He gave me his dazzling smile while rubbing his head where the book had hit him. "And yea, in a flash."

"What are you- how did you? Didn't hear you come- What are you doing here?" I stuttered. I couldn't believe he was here. But then I recovered from my shock.

"I came to visit you." He answered grinning.

"How did you know I worked here?"

"Small town, word gets around." He said bending down to pick up the book off the ground.

"What you here for?" I paused waiting for his answer

"Actually, the uh, our place kinda got boring and I thought I should come visit you." He examined the book. "I would never take you as the book reader type Saraphina." He said while walking over to my side of the table.

I looked up to him. I was a bit surprised he had remembered my name. "And why is that?"

"Well for one, your loud."He stated as he sat on the table.

"Just cause I'm loud doesn't mean I cant love books."

He laughed,"Doesn't mean you should be working here either. And honestly this has got to be one of the most boring job ever!" He exclaimed.

Wow you sound just like Jake." I rolled my eyes. "Thanks for insulting my work."

"So the lovely saraphina has a boyfriend?" He said excitedly while wigging his eyebrows.

I took the book from his hand."No, just a good friend." And put it back in its shelve.

"Why do I feel like your not happy to see me?" He said pouting.

I gave him a confused look. "Maybe cause last time you guys talked about killing me?"

"We were joking."

"Sure you guys were." I said sarcastically. "By the way sorry about hitting you with the book." I said turning around to face him.

"Its fine." He said smiling. "But you do know your the only person whose gotten scared and apologized about it."

"Who said I was scared." I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Well maybe you should be." He replied back giving me a smirk.

I laughed, "Wipe that smirk off before I wipe it for you." I walked past him, purposefully bumping our shoulders together.

He chucked, "See I knew coming here was a good idea. Your so fun to talk to."

I sat on the table. "What happened to Dracula 1 and Dracula number 2."

He laughed even more. "You mean Perz and Nick."

"That's what I said."

"Don't let them catch you saying that." He said sitting down but the smile was still on his face.

"Oh come on you have to admit."

Seeing the seriousness in my face, he laughed. "They're not that bad."

I raised one on my eyebrows. "One of them was seriously considering to kill me and the other kept on calling me an it. Which by the way I don't understand why. Are you guys assassins? Did I walk on your top secret meeting?"

"Something like that." He said as he sat by me.

"I'm guessing I'm not gonna get anything else." I replied back.

"You guessed right." With that a little girl and her mom walked in to the store.

"Excuse me? Miss Saraphina? Could you please help me find a good princessy book?" Ana, who was one of my favorite customer asked, asked in her squeaky voice.

I looked at Gus, "Duty calls." and started walking towards the girl and her mom. "Of course Ana." I smiled at her and greeted her mom.

"Sorry Saraphina, we were passing by your shop and she wanted to see you."

"No, its totally fine." I bent down."A pleasure to help a reader." I said giving her a wink which made her giggle. "Now lets see what book to get you."

I got up, and looked away to where Gus was standing before. Ready to introduce him to them. But when I looked up, the only thing I saw was just the table. Alone and no Gus to be found.
