Perseus POV
I clutched my hand as I watched her leave with Gus. Why did I feel like this? What made her so special, to have this kind of charm over me? I shook my head, maybe it was the lack of rest I was getting. And she was mainly the reason why.
I was about to leave when I heard my dads voice. "Your all dismissed, we will continue this later, right now I need to talk to my son."
I looked up, to the human eye, no doubt it looked like they disappeared into thin air. But to us, it was something more. We moved to fast for the human eye to process. And matter of seconds, it was just my father and I alone.
We didn't say anything for a while. My patience was running thin.
"Father," I paused and looked at his eyes. "Explain." The thoughts coming from him didnt make any sense.
He took a deep breath, "Saraphina." He said slowly like it was a spell.
"What about her?" I asked my jaw tightening up.
"Do you know who she is?" He asked while getting up.
"Some human." I stated as my dad poured himself a drink.
He shook his head. "Just a human?"
"A human whose mind I cant read." I whispered.
But he heard it. Of course he did. "You cant read her mind?" He asked shocked.
"No. I cant even access a single thought. Somethings wrong with her." I shook my head as I got up and poured myself a drink. "She isnt a normal human is she?"
"This isn't normal. Strong blood, you cant read her mind. What about others, can she block out their power?"
"I dont know." I paused, "do you know something about her?"
"Perseus, do you remember the Lockwood's family?" He asked.
"It cant be." I said laughing, but it died out when I saw the seriousness in my dads eyes.
My dad raised an eyebrow. "Do you really think I would tell you if I wasn't sure? She has the Lockwood eyes, you would be dumb not to notice it. But no one around here has known a Lockwood. They wouldn't know."
"you cant be serious. She cant be."
"She blocks powers, something I've only seen Laria Lockwood do. Its not a common power Perseus. I was suspicious at first, because their daughters name was Saraphina, and she had resemblance, yes. But now that you told me about the blockage she does. I know for sure."
"shes a human." I stated putting my drink down.
"Something Laria Lockwood was."
"their daughter was kidnapped." I stated, giving all the reasons I was thinking about. This weak human could not belong to the Lockwood family.
"And what makes you think she wasn't?" He paused. "Why are you so against this anyway?"
"Because shes damn human!" I yelled punching the wall.
"Control yourself." I heard my father say.
"What are we going to do now?" I asked as I turned around
He shook his head. "Does she know who she is?"
"I dont think so. She didn't know anything when we meet her. And shes still in the dark about us also." I responded trying to calm myself down.
"Lucius can never know about her." He said, and that was one of the first things we agreed on today. "And until we know what to do about this, no one can know Perseus."
"This is to much." I turned around and started walking towards the doors. I asked a question as I stopped walking. "Shes like Laria. Isn't she?"
"I believe so." I heard him say.
I sighed, opened the doors and walked out. Hoping to find the Lockwood long lost daughter.
Saraphinas POV
Augustus lead me down the hallway not speaking a word.
"Gus?" I asked quietly.
He didn't respond back.
"Is something wrong?"
He ran his hand through his fine hair. "The man, beside Perz's father. The one that suggests you go on a tour, is my father.
I didn't say anything, wanting him to continue.
"We were never close, even after the death of my mother. He wants me to be like Perz. He thinks showing emotions is weak." He laughed and shook his head. "I tried talking to him, but he doesn't understand. More like he doesn't want to."
I stared into his eyes as he talked waiting for him to finish. "Your mother would be so proud of you. Your an amazing person Augustus. Never forget that."
He smiled. "Lemme guess, you have family problems too?"
My eyebrows scrunched up, "How did you know?"
He smiled and put his hands into his pockets, "I don't need to be a mind reader like Perz to understand you."
I started walking towards a painting of a man. "My parents." I paused. "My biological parents I never met."
Gus came behind me and put his hand on my shoulder. "Wait, you're adopted-", before he could finish we were interrupted.
"We wanted to see if the rumors were true." I heard a manly voice say behind me.
I turned around to see a man and a little girl.
They both stared at me with curiosity in their eyes. Gus snickered. I glared at them, then turned to face the man and the girl.
"Rumor?"
"That there was a human in the manor." The man said.
The girl started taking steps towards me. "You smell really good."
I laughed. "I've been getting that a lot these days." Then turned to the man. "My names Saraphina."
"We know." The girl said.
I bite my lip trying not to laugh. "What's your name?"
"Caroline," Gus said picking her up.
"Put me down, Augustus," Caroline said to him.
"I don't think so." He said back tickling her and making her laugh.
"My names Jason. And that-" He pointed at Caroline. "Is my problem."
"I think she is actually pretty-" I paused. "Delightful?"
That caused Jason to laugh. "She's a handful, I'm the older brother, but I feel like she bosses me around more then I boss her around."
"Seraphina?" I turned around to face Gus who was giving Caroline a piggyback ride. "You ready to continue our tour?"
I nodded my head, he put the sweet child down and we continued on our path. Gus showed me rooms after rooms, anything you could imagine it was here.
I noticed he was fidgeting, "If you have something to ask, ask."
His face was emotionless, "I want to know."
"know what?" I asked.
"How you got to this town."
"I already told you guys, I just found this town"
"People don't just move here Saraphina." He replied back emotion leaving his voice. "This town is sacred, everyone in this town that's a human was born here."
"Apparently that's not the case because I found this town perfectly clearly," I replied back getting a bit pissed
Gus shook his head, "You don't understand, no one leaves and no outsiders ever finds this town."
