What's going on?

"Who are you texting." Brian asked in their way back to the house once he noticed that Apryl's cellphone was preoccupying her.

"I was letting my mom know we're on the way back. I forgot to tell that we got the ID card without any problem." she replied, not bothering to look up as she continued texting.

It hadn't been a lie either. She replied to Keith's odd text and then moved on to update her mother when the other werewolf didn't reply right away.

She figured Keith was just asking because he probably saw them in the area of the admin building. Part of his job was to help out in that area when he didn't have to work in the lab.

"You let Lydia know too then?" the grip he had on the steering wheel had relaxed slightly. She could sense that something was strange was going on, she just didn't know what it was.

"Yeah, my mom let her know since they're both in the same space." She replied.

"How long do you think it would take after she's had the pups for my mother to get her ID?" she suddenly asked causing Brian turn his head to look at her briefly.

"Why the sudden question?" He asked back instead of replying to Apryl's question first.

"I was just curious because I know my mom as much as she's going to want to take care of my new siblings as much as possible, she's also going to want to be able to start contributing to the financial costs as well. So I was just wondering what realistic would be the timeframe she has to wait incase I need to convince her to keep to it." she replied.

Apryl wasn't wrong in thinking about this. Summer was happy to be able to help around the house while she was so close to having her next set of pups, but her preference would be to be able to work as well. She didn't mind relying on her extended family while she needed the help, but staying under the same roof with everyone for as long as they already had wasn't part of the original plan.

"That will probably depend on how the pregnancy goes. Your mother's older and she's been under a lot of stress. Depending on how that affects her pregnancy over next week or so, it might take her longer than normal to recover. I would probably say six weeks though it could be less or more depending." Brian replied after he had taken some time to think about it.

"I'm sure my wife won't mind helping though plus the others along with you."

"That's true." Apryl replied as they pulled up to the house. It was a much shorter drive going from the school to the house so it didn't make her feel as uneasy as the trip to the DMV had.

She was happy to finally be home though and not have to deal with a car anymore, at least for a while or longer if she could help it. This trip had helped her to realize that one thing that she wanted to add to her job goals to work either on the university campus or someplace that was within walking distance so that she didn't have to deal with commuting.

Apryl entered the house before Brian as he took time to make sure it was parked and locked up properly. Upon entering the house, she could tell that her aunt had been busy cooking again though she wasn't sure what she was making that smelled so good.

"Nice to see that you are finally back." Lydia commented when she saw her niece and husband before Summer did. Summer had her back to them as she was working on something at the table.

"Yeah, it went well. Or at least I think that the photos turned out okay." Apryl replied as she showed her IDs off to her mother and aunt.

"I think that they both turned out really well. And I bet it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be." Summer commented as she picked up both IDs so that she could get a better look at them.

"It was worse getting the first one, but not so bad when I got the second one as I at least knew what to expect and say. Brian was happy to see the campus as well he said because it had been a few years since he was there." Apryl replied.

Lydia looked away from what she was chopping at the stove and gave Apryl an odd look. She looked like she was getting ready to say something when Brian walked inside.

"Thank you for taking her to get this done." Summer told Brian as he entered the kitchen.

"It was no problem, I'm glad that I was able to help. I'm sure it'll make something a bit easier now." He replied offering her a smile.

"Where are my sisters at?" Apryl asked as she realized that the kitchen seemed rather empty compared to the day before.

"They're with your younger siblings right now. They wanted to spend some time with them since it had been a few days since they saw them, Timid, and Oreo." Summer replied as she handed her daughter back her Ids so that she could put them somewhere safe.

"I guess that I should think about visiting them too since it has been a few days." Apryl commented as she slipped her IDs back in her pocket. This reminded her that she also needed to follow up with Keith to see if he had found out anything that might be able to help Oreo out.

"I need to change so I can do my homework so I will be back down in just a few minutes." Apryl told them before she started ascending the stairs to her room.

She did want to change into something more comfortable, but she also wanted to use the few minutes to message Keith back since he hadn't replied to her after she texted him back.

'what's going on?' was the first message told him before she set her phone down so that she could start changing. It didn't take long though before he replied with a 'Nothing, I was just curious because I saw the two of you together at the school today.'.

'you could've stopped and said hi.' she replied back before slipping on her new shirt and pair of pants. It was probably a bit warm to be wearing pants in the heat, but she preferred them to shorts as they at least reminded her somewhat of having fur.

'I was busy.' he replied back. Apryl huffed when she read this. To her it confirmed the fact that something must've been going on because she couldn't remember in the short time that she knew him of a time when he had been too busy to talk or catch up with anyone.

'liar. tell me what's really going on.'

'It's really nothing that you need to worry about. I was just curious.'

'I'll call you and then you can tell me.' Apryl replied and there was almost a minute gap between her message and Keith's next reply.

'You probably don't even know how to call me. Plus, it's really nothing.'

'tell me tomorrow then.' She insisted feeling slightly frustrated and their texting back and forth with him refusing to to just tell her what was wrong.

'I told you it's nothing and if you keep insisting it is something, I won't help you if you still need assistance with your homework tomorrow before class.' Apryl's mouth dropped open when she read this message, she couldn't believe that Keith would use that against.

'very unfair threat.' she replied and hoped it conveyed the disbelief and annoyance she felt over him using this against her.

'It's perfectly fair.' he texted back. followed by another 'I'll talk you tomorrow, I have my own homework I need to do.' seeing that he was done texting because he was busy. Apryl didn't both replying to this text message and even left her phone in her room because she felt too frustrated with it to want to use it anymore probably for the rest of the afternoon.
