Style

Keith grinned in response to Apryl's question before he took the glasses off.

"I wear them because I thought it would go with my style. The lenses used in these glasses aren't real, they're just made that way to give off the impression that they are." He explained as he set the glasses down. Apryl had to admit that without the glasses, he didn't quite look like himself now.

"You mean not everyone wears glasses because they have to?" Apryl asked feeling rather surprised and confused at this discovery. She also had assumed that humans wore them because they needed to due to their poor eye sight being in even worse condition than it normally was.

"Nah. Most people do it because they need them, but some do it just because it's a good style for them. My face is a bit more boyish looking which can give off the impression that perhaps I am a bit naïve, but if I pair that with glasses, it gives me more of a charming look rather than a unreliable as some would say." He replied.

"You could always try out getting some too if you wanted. Your face shape is different from mine though so you would probably need a different style from the ones that I chose."

"I think that I prefer my face without glasses. I'm not all that sure they would fit me anyways." Apryl responded. She wasn't all that keen on trying something different that would change her imagine and that she wasn't sure her mother wouldn't mind or that would feel weird to her.

"You never known until you try. It's really up to you though and you could always reconsider it later on if you ever decide that you want to do something to change up your style after you've been here for a while. I know someone who would let you try it out for a while before you commit to actually buying anything." Keith told her as shut his computer. He was done with his work for the time being and he knew that she was still waiting on him to help her go through her assignment and make sure that everything looked good before she had to turn it in for class.

"Maybe in another year and if I am able to survive these classes and the fall. I don't really care much about style and such at this point. " She responded back. Style was something that she would mentally take note of though it if mattered that much to humans. Right now, her focus was really on just surviving and getting through her first semester and everything else that the fall would be brining. She was still just getting used to humans and didn't have the time to think about what she considered inconsequential things as style.

"That's fair. Plus it's not like you don't know where to find me to ask about it if you decide to change your mind later on." Keith sat down next to her as he spoke.

"Where your assignment?" He asked. He wasn't sure if he was expecting to be looking at a paper she printed out or an online document.

"My aunt had a thumb drive that she let me borrow until I am able to get my own computer, she said she didn't need it right now and that it would make it easier to do my studies between computers if I needed to." Apryl replied as he pulled the small black device out of one of the small zipped pouches on her backpack. She had no idea why it was decided the best name for the device was 'thumb drive' as it didn't resemble a thumb to her at all.

"Let me see what you have then. You've only got about forty minutes before your classes start and I don't know yet what I am going to be dealing with or have to clean up here." Keith told her as he held up his hand for him to give her the small device. She gave him a serious look but didn't hand it to him right away.

"You're really not going to tell me what was going on with why you were asking me about my uncle before we get started on this?" Apryl asked again. Her curiosity really didn't want her to let this issue go. Keith's facial expression didn't change, but now that they were sitting closer, she could see an odd look pass through his eyes for a second before it disappeared.

"I told before, it was just a question out of curiosity." He replied as he stood up to grab his computer.

"You know I still don't believe that. And if it was true, why haven't you asked me more about him or replied to me when I told." Apryl countered, a little more pushy than she meant to be, but she really wanted him to give an honest answer.

"Did you think that maybe I didn't ask any more questions because you quickly became suspicious based upon nothing other than the fact that I didn't respond to you right away because I was busy?" Keith replied with a question as he came back over to the small table Apryl was seated and put his computer down before sitting back down himself.

"I only reacted that way because it was the first time we've been talking that you didn't respond right away after I had messaged you like I said before. Plus you had no problem answering almost immediately to the question I asked you after that." Apryl defended. Keith raised an eyebrow at her as he held out his hand again for her to give him the drive so that he could start looking over her assignment.

"We've only been talking for a little over a week right now. I think that maybe it's a bit short of a timeframe to base your questioning of my response time on, wouldn't you agree?" Apryl stared at him, but didn't respond right away even though she knew that he had a point in what he was saying.

They hadn't been talking long enough for her to make such an assumption, but still, it didn't change the fact that it was the only time that he hadn't responded to her right away.

"I don't entirely agree with that." She huffed back as he handed him the thumb drive.

"You shouldn't pout like a child just because I make a good point that you can't argue with." Keith told her as he took the thumb drive and inserted into one of the ports of the side of his laptop.

"Plus, if you pout too much you'll end up with wrinkles and ruin your face before you get too old." Apryl was too focused on what he was doing with his computer that she didn't realize that he was going to ruffle her hair before he did it and ended up ruining the tidy form she had managed to get it in.

"Hey!" She complained as she batted his hand away causing him to laugh.

"If you do that, the more immediate danger will be my hair being a mess before I have to go to class. This hair isn't easy to take care of either."

"Interesting comment coming from the person who just said they didn't care that much about style." Apryl shot him a glare in response to this comment as she tried to fix her hair.
