Finding a family

Stretching awake Kitori looks across the hospital room at his reflection. He no longer can feel Shiro's presence inside him. When he has tried to shimmer to him he only ends up at the museum. Kitori can't leave until he finds Shiro. Staring at the reflection he feels sad and empty inside. Not knowing what happened to his friend. Wondering if he should call Morrigan or Imari . Sighing he takes the pendant out reluctantly he puts it on. Before he can call for the goddesses to come Morrigan appears before him. She asks him.

"Why are you here? How did you come to be here?" Morrigan is puzzled that the little fox she saw in Shiro's memories is her little Kitori. From behind her Shiro's spirit looks at Kitori.

Kitori bows face down in front of them.

"My goddess I am so sorry, I did not know that anything bad was going to happen. I tried to get back to him but they never left me alone . If I had known that he was going to perish I would have given him my soul bead, Or taken his place. Please forgive me for not making it Back in time to save him" Kitori is sobbing his grief overwhelming him. Morrigan kneels beside him and takes him in her arms.

"My sweet little fox, I know your heart. I know you never wished any harm to come to Shiro. Now a choice needs to be made. It's only a choice you and Shiro can make. Would you like to stay as Shiro and live as him. If you do that you will have a family and Shiro's family would not have to grieve over his loss." Morrigan wonders what he is thinking. Kitori's heart leaps with the thought then plummeted at the thought he may have just sacrificed his chance at being with his love. Knowing that it is his fault that Shiro perished he decides.

"I will do whatever Shiro wants. I am not worthy to even live without him. " Kitori looks at Shiro's broken spirit. Wondering if he can forgive him.

As if knowing what he is thinking Shiro's spirit goes to stand by his friend.

"Thank you for doing what I asked. I knew my uncle could not harm me. It's not your fault that I got hurt. I would not mind if you stayed with my family. That way they won't feel sad thinking of me. I just wish that we could have been friends longer . I was starting to feel like we could have been friends as close as brothers. " Shiro's spirit holds out its hand to Kitori. When their fingers touch a blinding light enters a room.

Kitori kneels before the father afraid to look upon his face.

"Kit it is fine you may look at me. Noting will happen to you. "The father watches as Kitori looks up at him.

"How can I when it is forbidden?" Kitori asks

"I give you permission that is all that is necessary. Now I understand that the two of you wish for something that no one but myself can grant. I grant you permission to become Shiro while retaining all of your powers . Shiro will be reborn to the family in eighteen months. You will become brothers . Now Kitori you still will need to prove yourself to become human but I will allow you this chance . Now I am leaving you in Morrigan 's hands she will take care of everything. " The father takes both of the boys hands and Kitori can feel the changes taking place inside of his body. Smiling he knows that he will become human now. As quickly as he came the father left.

Kitori looks at Shiro's spirit and smiles knowing that they are to become true brothers. Shiro waves goodbye as his spirit starts to fade.

"Kitori do not worry you will find your love. She will recognize you when the time comes. Now close your eyes the time has come." Morrigan holds Kitori's hand as the transformation begins. In a swirling of light Kitori's will have Shiro's form always now if he so chooses.

Warmth fills him , he can't help but to close his eyes., When Kitori opens his eyes. Though to the outsider it may seem nothing changed. Smiling brightly Kitori turns to the goddess.

"Goddess thank you and the father for allowing me this chance . I promise I will do what is needed to make you proud of me . I won't let you down.," Kitori bows as he makes his vow. Morrigan chuckles as she touches his head.

" I know you won't , I will be close by always ready to help you when you need me. For now I will leave you . Be prepared though it won't be easy being Shiro and you cannot go back ." Morrigan disappeared and Kitori was left staring into Shiro's eyes.
