Forever the shame of the magik academy. In a world where the supernatural flow of magik is as common as the air to breathe, she is talentless and hopelessly lacking in ability---that is until a Demon’s ancient text falls into her hands.

With the aid of a strange group of friends, they venture out attempting to decipher its contents.

Before they realize it, the world as they know it has begun to suffer from demonic assaults with death as the only release from the chaos. 

It’s a race against the clock and the sands of time are running out.

Can they decipher the forbidden secrets in time or will they be doomed to join the immortal army of perdition in the afterlife?

I narrowed my eyes and began waving my fingers about, sending a dance pattern out to all the flying bugs.

As soon as one of them caught the pattern, so did all the rest.

The random fluttering began to be synchronized, and then it became syncopated.

Then I began singing to the bugs, much like Gabriel Baccarat did to his plants.  It was just a simple little song, but I sang it with much joy.

Butterfly, ladybug, and bumblebee

Flying all around the trees

Ladybug, bumblebee, and butterfly

Butter, butter, butter, butter, butterfly

Lady, lady, lady, lady, ladybug

Bumble, bumble, bumble, bumble, bumblebee*

I allowed the yellow butterflies to circle around Gabriel and then I added the red lady bugs into the mix, going the opposite direction.  The bees buzzed about, twirling into the air above the ladybugs and butterflies.
