"She hasn't returned, it's been days. I'm getting that tingly feeling"
"Romulus, thou mustn't be so disoriented."
"Eris, just how long do you think blessing one soul takes? Even if she was sent by the Father himself, an elite like her should have been back in hours not days!" Romulus exclaimed.
"Just relax, she probably used a portal." Eris shrugged.
"No, this is the only entrance into heaven's domain, portal or not, we're the guards of this golden requiem, there's no way someone would get in without our approval. Even if she is the favorite and beloved by many." he bit his finger nail.
"There you have it, now get to back to work I want to sleep." she replied. However, the tingly feeling Romulus had, didn't go away. A storm was brewing. As strong winds blew the bells on the tower. Romulus clenched his fists.
"Be safe." he uttered as he looked on at the golden bells.
Back in the city, Sargon who instructed Diya to reconstruct the city, stood in astonishment at what he gazed upon which would be his home. Diya being a former resident of the White City, wanted no less than a castle as a home.
"Why a castle?" he asked
"Only the best my master." She said proudly.
The once peaceful adventurer filled town of Entel was now overrun by demons, all the beasts from the surrounding area gathered in the city drawn in by Sargon's demonic power hoping to be part of his hierarchy; a week later and Entel was swarming of monsters and the city was declared and listed as a threat. Word spread about the revival of a demon lord candidate and many heroes had gathered to slay the lord and claim the fame but they were all turned into lunch at the hands of once villagers that were now demons.
"Not bad, for two weeks, what do you think Diya?" he eyed her.
"All according to your plan, my master." she replied as he chuckled.
"I think it's time I started."
Confused she looked at him "Start what may I ask?"
"Exploring the boundary of this new power." He clenched his fists.
"In order words, you want to slaughter humans, have your army rip and tear upon the humans and have at it with the maidens?" she asked him.
"EVERYTHING! Ahem, I mean I have all this power but it's wasted on me." He sat back down on this throne and sighed. "Just what do I do?"
Now that the castle was built and the town was turned into a nest of demons, Diya was put in charge of everything with one order to never disobey her command. But the authority remained with Sargon for the final decision.
"I have also discovered each time I'm praised, I glow." Sargon added. She just stared at him.
"Oh, is that so, in that case, you are the most benevolent demon I have ever seen." She teased and Sargon really did glow, she tried her best to maintain her composure.
Just then a loud explosion was heard followed by rumbling and sounds of something crashing down.
"Demon lord candidate, we are the allied forces of heroes, come out and surrender." called a voice from outside.
Upon investigating they saw hundreds of people outside as well as another loaded catapult and a boulder that had degraded the front tower.
"What's with all these cockroaches?" Sargon said,
"I just completed this castle!" Diya roared
"I believe you should be asking how did they get this close without us knowing?" Sargon commented.
Diya used one of her skill "Far sight" which gave her 3x more a bird's eye view, looked around and saw a familiar face.
"Ah, I know him." she said
"Who?" he asked her
"The yapping cockroach at the front I think his name was Henry." she said unsure.
"How do you possibly know him." he probed.
"I don't. I just brought him to this world as a hero, in fact I and other gods brought back many of these soon to be food here to slay the demon lord." She said. "I regret to inform you, but the last one you brought back to life is in fact the next candidate."
They fired another boulder this round struck the west wing of the castle.
"Should I order the demon to attack?" Diya asked,
"No, no need for that I'll go myself." he said
"well then have fun." She ushered as Sargon disappeared and reappeared in the meadow behind everyone.
Diya noticed someone among the crowd who had picked up on Sargon's blood thirsty aura but it was too late.
"If you want someone to blame, blame yourselves for coming at my house and ruining my moment. "INCINERATE!" he spoke as the entire field was engulfed with fire.
He kept the field burning until he no longer sensed a life. While walking amongst the farm of corpse a very faint life force was detected. Diya who was already looking at the pile of corpse, dug deep into it and pulled out what appeared to be a nun. Her robe was tattered and she clutched a staff
"I'm impressed, she really did survive for a beast-men." Dia said as she looked at Sargon.
"What do you mean by that?" he asked.
"I'm saying that she was first to sense you and was able to put up a protective barrier but only in time for herself." She laughed
"I'll have her resurrected as a lesser demon." He said and length his hand.
"Oh, please wait master." Diya stopped him.
"What's wrong Diya? Don't tell me you're interested in her?"
"Yes, after all it would be a waste of good talent." she replied. He studied her expression and finally said,
"Just so you know, I don't need anyone else as long as I have you." As he walked closer towards them, his dark energy left his body and began consuming the girl. "If it's for you, I'll give anything." He whispered.
