ANOTHER ONE

Recently it was discovered that Lia was good at cooking as well as sewing, immediately she moved to kitchen duties and as a hobby, she made clothes, she was finally allowed to sit at the table, before she'd stand next to Sargon or behind Diya. The rearing and farming were all coming along well, occasionally Diya would treat the demons to a human or two who were held in the dungeon below as a reward for good work. The shadow that attacked weeks ago, didn't come back. All in all, it was safe to assume it was a peaceful day or so Diya thought. Now that a wall was built surrounding the town and another surrounding the castle Sargon instructed Lia to make three barriers. The first one was the biggest, it covered the perimeter of the city. The second from the outer wall, covering the demons' resident and third; fortified with a hardening spell, covered only the castle where very few demons stayed. The barriers were made that only demons under Sargon's command would be able to enter, anything not relating to him would be electrocuted by the lightening wave spell he himself had placed on it. One night Lia saw Diya and Sargon entering his bedroom, Diya didn't come out until half hour later, they did the same the next night, and the next. She didn't want to pry, but she was intrigue and since her relationship with Diya got closer, she waited for her to come out.

"What's wrong should you be sleeping already?" Diya said as she closed the door behind her.

"Um, I want to talk to you, can we go to the window?" Lia pointed as they made their way over.

"The night breeze is the best." Diya commented. "So, what's wrong?"

"I'm sorry if I over step my boundary, but what is your relationship with master Sargon? Ahh I mean I've been seeing you going into his room with him and then coming back out, are you two, you know?" she constantly blinked, glanced at Diya then avoided her gazed.

"We're not, at least I don't think so." Lia was surprised. "To tell you the truth, when Sargon first woke up as the demon lord candidate he was plagued with nightmares and would occasionally lose control of his power and cause destruction, he was afraid to sleep because of that, so I would hold his hand until he fell asleep, even now it's been months and he still can't fall asleep without holding my hand or my presence. Cute isn't it?" she smiled gently.

"You're really the woman of this castle." Lia muttered

"Did you say something?" she tilted her head at her.

"No, it's just you're soo mature and cool. I don't mind serving either of you. Well then good night. I'm sorry for bothering you." She was neither sad or happy, she just accepted it as it is.

A few days later Diya and Sargon were gifted with new clothing. Sargon was given an all-black outfit with the exception of his shirt, which was a bright red to compliment his hair which was white. He also got a coat which covered to his knees and leather boots completing his look was a black pants. Putting it on for the first time he made his way outside his room door to show off.

"How cool" where the girl's thoughts.

Diya was given black knee high stockings with a pleated red and black skirt that reaches just above the stockings. Followed by a white long sleeved shirt that was frilled at the end which tucks into her skirt. This complimented her long black hair and ruby eyes and made her mature personality appear bigger also making her rather cute. She loved it so much, she hugged Lia for the first time. As for herself, Lia stuck to something she was most comfortable wearing. A habit, but it was made shorter above her knees as the back of it covered behind her knees, with an open shoulder and gloves extending to her forearm. It was black with an upside down golden cross covering the middle of the habit. The gold complimented her sun colored eyes and as per Sargon's request to be herself, she didn't wear a veil.

"You look extremely cute." Sargon remarked following approval from Diya. Suddenly there was an explosion in the castle.

"That better not be my front door." Sargon said as he got up. Another explosion went off. Smiling he commented, "And that totally wasn't the west wing."

There were shouting from the outside, as one of the demons came to them.

"Gow, grr, gow." it spoke.

"it's that so?" Sargon replied. A confused Lia tilted her head at them.

"he's saying that we have an uninvited guest." Diya said to her as they made their way outside.

"My name is Wendell, a super high class devil, bow down to me, worthless excuse for demons." on first appearance, he looked like a reptile, but more humanlike. he however had a tail and long claws. He laughed loudly as he could whilst standing on top of the lookout as he got pelted by pebbles and stone.

"What's with this disgrace, I am your new master." He proclaimed.

"Get lost you wannabe before you die." Shouted the higher demons from the below, they began to boo him.

"S-stop it, I Wendell am your master!" He screamed.

"hmm a pervert." With a dead eye look, both the girls looked down on him.

"Now, now calm down you two." Sargon said as he placed his hands on their shoulder, "We don't know that for sure." He's trying to stay positive as he could.

"Who's your lowly master?" he asked them.

"ah that would be me." Sargon waved from the main balcony.

"Oh? Get over here and lick my boot, filthy peasant." he demanded. 'Oh he's going to die.' Sargon thought to himself.

The last thing Wendell saw was a staff into his face and the last thing he felt was the brute force of a kick to his head, bashing it to pieces. His body fell to the ground and was torn apart by the demons; it wasn't even eaten it was burnt.

'I didn't even get to question him, well it's fine.' Sargon thought to himself. "Let's go inside you two." he said as he was about to usher the girl's back inside.

"Wait, hey wait a minute." A small high pitched squeaky voice called from the court yard. Turning around they discovered a naked baby calling to them. It began to grow, rapidly at that, into a fully developed adult.

"Gross, really gross." Were all their thoughts.

"We got off on the wrong foot, I bring a message from a demon lord, may I come in?" Wendell asked.

"No, kneel on the ground right there." Sargon replied.

He did just that, with all eyes on him and but naked at that, he spoke.

"The demon lord Vanir of the north sent me. He sent me to tell you to surrender over to him so if you don't come back I'll die."

"I don't care; you guys can have him." He ordered as the demons moved in on Wendell.

"Wait! Lord Vanir is a ruthless monster, devours all and leaves nothing behind." he claimed.

"It's not my problem, but I'm listening." Sargon said with his back turned.

"Ever since the King himself disappeared demon lords from all of the continent began fighting to become the next king. Right now lord Vanir is a top contender, he is very ruthless and now he's set his sights on you. A nameless lord candidate who suddenly appeared out from nowhere. Tell me, you have two very pretty women besides you, do you want them become his plaything?" he got a point Sargon thought but,

"Those two pretty women were responsible for your state a few minutes ago, however if this Vanir wants to come here by all means let him. In return we'll eat him and his forces, everything." Sargon claimed.

"Are you mad? His current force is ten times your army, just surrender you're weaker than him." Wendell said.

"Surrender? Don't make laugh. Weak? Whatever gave you that idea?" he looked over to Diya, after making eye contact, he gently held her hand, "I vowed I wouldn't let anyone identify me as such. Try looking around you, do they look like they are ready to give in and surrender? We are hungry, always hungry to fill our bellies. Our never ending hunger quells us. You say he's ten times the power of us? Ha! So let him come, he'll be our appetizer." His eyes glowed, all the demons in the court yard began screaming and howling.

Wendell felt something struck his dark soul at that second, but one thing for sure, he decided if he stayed with Sargon he may have a fighting chance.

The next day came.

"Why are you still here, also how did you get into the barrier?" Sargon asked him.

"It's simple, I can travel through the shadows, so I waited until one of your minions went out of the barrier and attached myself to him." He said as he polished Sargon's boots.

"hmm that's useful, so why are you here?" Sargon asked as he propped his chin on his knuckle.

"I can't go back empty handed I don't want to die." Wendell said.

"If I remember correctly my girls did finish you yesterday." Sargon said.

"Yes and no." he said as Sargon raised his eyebrows.

"Why is that?" he probed.

"That's because I don't have my heart, currently Lord Vanir has it. aside from having the power to manipulate shadows, I posses another ability. You see, as long as my heart isn't damaged, I can regenerate over and over. So to Lord Vanir, I'm just a disposable pawn." he spoke.

"I almost feel pity for you." Sargon said as he crossed his legs.

"So, I've decided to stay here and serve you." Wendell said.

"But demons pledge to another demon cannot follow another one." Sargon said as he looked at him.

"Huh? That's not true." Perplexed Sargon looked at Diya who looked at Lia who looked at Sargon.

"Wait, just what do you know about demons?" Wendell said as he got up and took some steps back.

The answer was the same on their faces. They knew nothing.

Meanwhile in the White City, all the gods and goddesses were in chaos over information they had received.

"There's no denying it, this demon is none other than her." he god said as he slammed his fists unto the table.

"We don't know for sure Ares!." spoke another as he tried to calm the angry god.

"Look at the image Apollo!" Ares growled. They were in front of a mirror that showed them a figure.

"I've known her since the beginning and fought alongside her, she's one of the strongest; that's why we all look up to her." He said sadly, "but there's no denying this evidence. Athena your order."

"I say this with heavy heart." Unaware of two listening ears, "as of this moment Goddess Enyo is a traitor, but I want more information before I sentence her to death for treason, I want to investigate this matter both of you, find out what you can, if she resists, then kill her. can you do it?" Athena spoke as she turned her back to them.

"I understood Athena I'll leave at once." Ares said as he left the meeting by himself, he clenched his fists. "I don't believe for a second that you'd turn traitor, I'll get to the bottom of this, I swear." he slammed his fists into the wall shattering it as the two eavesdroppers followed behind him.

"Athena, I want you to remove Ares from this." Apollo demanded.

"Why's that Apollo?" She questioned.

"You know their history, one of them is bound to be hurt." he replied.

"Oh dear brother, they both already are, we all are, now go but observe her well … him too." she spoke as he disappeared under the holy light. confirming they were all gone, she stared at the mirror. "What have faith in store for us?" she whispered.
