HISTORY

It's been some time since Wendell began staying with them, Diya who was out in the fields inspecting the growth of vegetation, recalled what he had explained. He told them that when humans turn to demons they turn to different species. Those species include goblins, orcs, gremlins, succubus and occasionally chimeras and that dragons were myths. Goblins were like the baby of the species and that chimeras were considered extremely rare. He also said that nobles or royalty were able to harness special powers and when a demon lord becomes the king, he gains a specific power passed down only from king to king. He said that the power cannot make any demon turn against him regardless if they have sworn an oat or him or not. He emphasized that he felt said power when he was previously speaking with Sargon in the court yard the day before, which made Sargon prompt him

"how does one become the demon king?" to which Wendell replied

"If the previous king loses a fight with the challenger then that challenger becomes the king, or if the king himself chooses a ruler or leaves behind an heir."

He continued to explain that a regular demon is ranked by their colour and that the darker the colour the strongest that demon is; with aqua begin its weakest and black being its strongest. He also said that when a demon attains the colour of gray they can change their appearance back to human just the way Diya and Sargon looked. however, he does not know the rank they are as they seem powerful and already humanlike. He continued saying the nobles, likewise royals who are born either gray or white gives them the ability to be humanoid which is also rank 10 to a regular demon. Sargon asked him whether he knew what turned him into a demon, so which Wendell replied that he had no idea.

"Can a noble or a royal swear an oat to another lord or king?" Sargon asked him.

"Yes, but only by drinking his blood." he replied.

The only way regular demons can attain black or white is if they drink the blood of a dragon or the king himself changes them. He said that there are 12 ranks for a demon. Lia was maroon which indicated she was a rank 8. The ranks included Aqua rank 1, Yellow rank 2, Teal rank 3, Olive rank 4, Green rank 5, Blue rank 6, Purple rank 7, Maroon rank 8, Red rank 9, Gray rank 10, Dark Grey rank 11 and Black and White rank 12. But what got Diya loss of thoughts was when he mentioned that the Demon King was missing for a thousand years. Occasionally, when she was in the White City, she would hear mumbles that he was missing, but never took it seriously.

A shining light of the edge of her eye caught her attention, it came from the small forest just of the barrier, can't shake the feeling Diya ventured outside to investigate. She came to a clearing in the forest where she immediately realized what was shining, was in fact her weapon which she left back in The White City; one which she used when she was a goddess she knelt on the ground before it.

"I thought I would never hold you again." She whispered to the sword.

Its divine radiance glittered in the light. Her sword called for her, unable to resist her former partner, she reached out to hold it, but stopped herself.

"I'm no longer worthy of you. I'm not a goddess anymore goodbye." She got up and was about to make her way out when suddenly

"I knew it; you didn't betray us." A familiar voice spoke from behind her. She spun around and found Romulus. As happy as she was, she was also concerned.

"What are you doing here?" she asked him.

"I made a bet with Eris if you would pick it up or not." He said as he landed on the ground.

"Your verdict." She smiled

"Not guilty." he smiled.

"Does that mean she's here to?" she asked him.

"You bet." Eris spoke and she came out from behind a tree.

They all sat on the ground as Romulus told her that the White City is in an uproar over her disappearance and that Ares himself was coming here to capture her because they suspected her of treason. "Just what happened to you when you came down here big sister?" Eris asked her.

"I died, but I came back alive as a demon that's how I couldn't contact none of you." she said to them, making sure she kept her distance so they wouldn't be affected by her dark energy.

"How horrible." They whispered.

"But, as I've died and reborn, I've pledge my life to my current master, that's why even if you've come trying to persuade me, I'm not leaving his side; so even when Ares comes here even if he has to drag me I'm not leaving." Diya said as she clenched her fits.

"Spoken like a true aside." Sargon said as he stood behind her, his presence made both Romulus and Eris uptight which made them took flight.

"He's not going to bite." She assured them as she quickly stood in the middle, "You aren't going to bite aren't you." She whispered to him.

"Depends, who's Ares?" he asked.

"Her ex-boyfriend." Romulus proclaimed as he landed back on the ground.

"He's not my ex." Diya said as she stared furiously at Romulus.

"Ah so he is your boyfriend." Sargon replied,

"He's not my boyfriend." She answered.

"She meant ex-husband." Romulus laughed. Only to be received with a menacing glare.

"what are you doing here?" she asked Sargon. "And you two stop telling him things that almost happened."

"I've noticed that your presence ventured outside the barrier." Sargon said "you've never done that before, so I came to figure out what got your attention." he pouted at her as she smiled at him.

"You two sure are cute." Eris said. Sargon looked at her waiting for her to introduce them,

"These two are Romulus and Eris, we used to work together." Diya said. "everyone, this is the one I pledge to serve, my master Demon Sargon."

"You think we're cute? I like to think that she's more my wife than my aside." Sargon said happily

"Does that make you my older brother now." Eris proclaimed.

"you never told me you had a sister." he looked at Diya.

"Oh not just one sister, many, and brothers too." Romulus commented.

"You guys! Aren't you taking this a little too easy? Ares is coming and there might be-." A huge explosion went off behind them. "War." She finished

"Please tell me that wasn't the front door." Sargon rolled his eyes. Using Telepathy Sargon called Lia,

"Finally, where did you and Diya disappeared? I take my eyes off you two and you're gone it's like I have toddlers!" Lia frantically said as she stared out the veranda from the throne room.

"Lia what's that explosion?" Sargon asked her.

"Oh right, some funny looking people dressed in white with wings are attacking us, they broke through the main barrier, I think they're angels. Since when did we offended the gods?" she asked.

"We're demons, our very existence offends them." he replied.

"I knew that, but what did we do to piss them off?" she asked as Sargon looked at Diya as she looked at him with concern.

"Since Diya's husband found out she was a demon." he said coldly.

"What? She married a god, dam! When can I get so cool?" Lia said.

"Lia once they break through the third barrier, commence a full scale attack, I'll be there shortly." He cut the communication off.

"I'm sorry, I should have contacted them somehow and told them what had happened, it shouldn't have come this far." She lowered her head.

"What's his main reason here Eris?" Sargon asked her as he ignored Diya.

"He's here to take sister Enyo back." she replied. Enyo? It must have been her name before he named her Diya. "if she gives him reason to suspect treason, he'll kill her on the spot and our other brother Apollo is coming too." She added

"Apollo's coming too?" Diya asked and Romulus shook his head.

"And he thinks I'm going to just give her to him on a silver platter." Sargon uttered as he turned and teleport.

"Dam sis. You got two men fighting for you, wish I could be that cool." Eris said.

Diya felt a burning sensation in her chest and began to cold sweat. She began to gasp for air. Her horns had begun to appear on the top of her head she began to breathe heavily.

"Hey, are you alright? Is he doing something to you." Romulus asked her.

"Stay back!" she yelled, "the darkness isn't good for you." she said as she hugged herself.

"But your condition." he said with concern on his face.

"I can feel it, he's burning, I can feel it. I have to go back to his side." she said as she gasped.

"But he's hurting you!" Eris shouted.

"You're wrong, when I died I swallowed up all his dark energy just to come back alive, out of all the demons here, I'm somewhat of his twin, I can feel everything and his burning rage is what is overwhelming me. It's drawing me to him." she said as she began to transform.

"That's because you're under his control." Romulus said to her.

"No, right now I'm acting on my own because he's hurt and it frustrates me." she said to him as she gritted her teeth.

She had finish transforming into her demon form. Her skin was black with red markings from her neck down, her eyes glowed blood red, she had fangs and two horns on her head, her nails black, long and sharp and hooves as feet.

"You two go back now." she said to them and she left staggering.
