Chapter 24: Goal for a Writer

2 hours have passed, I already finished writing the Unsolved Case: Felicia.

[ Great_XiaoCheng, you have completed your task. Great job.

As a reward, we will be sending you 2.01 stars to boost up your rating. ]

My phone suddenly vibrated as if I got a new notification, I dug my hand in my pockets and pull out my phone.

I looked at my phone and my eyes widened at what I saw.

[ CONGRATULATIONS, GREAT_XIAOCHENG, YOUR BOOK WAS CONTRACTED !! ]

> TAP HERE TO SEE MORE <

I smiled with joy and tapped to see more just to see a disappointment.

[ YOU WERE FOOLED BY Zetsobou_Keni ]

I put my phone back in my pockets, brows furrowed.

"I fucking hate this little bitch." I sighed and said to myself. I looked at the hologram screen. After writing and editing the chapters, I dozed off.

I groaned as I heard few people. I looked around and Jin and Quan, arguing.

"I have the best plots while you have titles!" Quan Chi shouted at Jin Tofu.

"I don't care if I have the titles, at least I don't make my story titles like I shitted on a toilet and the toilet started screaming and I became shit and I am about to become the shit God" Jin Tofu shouted back.

Kim Daichi laughed and put his hand on his stomach while Sasori is holding it.

"That title is the best, funny even. Unlike yours that has system!" Quan Chi replied. "at least I don't title my shit with the word system, it's fucking annoying. The problem to some writers is they write their titles with system which makes readers go bore just by reading the title because it's too typical" Quan Chi added.

Jin Tofu about to reply but stopped as we suddenly heard pings.

I pulled out my phone and looked at the notification.

[ Hello, Team Sloth! As we all know, The Scripturient's League competition will be on 2 days. The Scripturient's League CEO along with the management and editors decided to let you stay on The Scripturient District. The Scripturient's League bus will be there to send you on The Scripturient's League District. ]

Kim whistled as he finished reading the notification. "Can't wait!"

"Have you ever heard about this "District", Kim?" I asked as I put my phone back into my pockets.

'Yep" Kim said with a smile.

"It's a place for writers. Official Scripturient's League writers only" Sasori said as she throws her empty can of soda in the bin.

"Based on my research, everything we need is on the district. Foods, clothes, room to stay. It's like a city that only for us, The Scripturient's League Writers" Quan Chi as his eyes are fixed on the hologram screen.

"And as always, writers that are high-ranking have more privilege than us." Jin said as he crosses his arms, looking down. There is a long pause, none of us speak.

"But if we would do our best, as a team. We could be high-ranking writers too" Kim said, smiling. We look at each other with a smile.

Our phones suddenly ping.

----Scripturient's League System Reminder----

[ Team Sloth, please get ready and get in your queue. The Scripturient's League bus is about to arrive in 5 minutes. ]

"I guess other writers already went out of their rooms" Kim said as he closes his hologram screen. Sasori stood up, followed by us and went out of the room.

As we walked through the hallway, it's already empty. A sudden ping is heard on my phone, I pulled it out.

[ Zetsobou_Keni: Good luck to you, Mr. XiaoCheng. Don't be afraid of the person who'll steal your potential of being in the spotlight. I got your back and would support you. I'm your fan after all. Anyways, just want to ruin your day by not really directing myself to say to be afraid of the person I mentioned ]

"Who is that?" Jin asked, looking at me. I shake my thoughts off and put my phone back into my pockets.

"Just some weirdo"

"Weirdo, huh? Maybe a potential girlfriend that is also a writer?" Kim said with a smile, looking at me over his shoulder.

"No, I'm not here to date. This is a place for writers not for people who wants to find a potential girlfriend or someone that could comfort or love us in times of need"

"Indeed" Quan Chi said and fixed his glasses. "Don't look at The Scripturient's League as a kind of dating group. Don't treat it as if it's a dating site. Remember, being a writer and author is permanent. Girls are temporary"

"Wise words you got there, Quan Chi" I commented.

"We're here," Sasori said and we all halted from our tracks. The sound of chatters and laughter from all writers filled the lobby, remain seated as they wait for the bus. Writers that have all the icons based on their level. Lions, Racoon, Phoenix and there's a lot to mention.

"Guess we will be on this side" Sasori stated as she pointed to the seats that is empty. As we seated, all writer's just continued their chatters. To distract myself, I pulled out my phone and just scroll through my status in The Scripturient's League. As always, my stats is dead.

"This would be our first time to go to The Scripturient's League District. We must beat other writers so that we can level up"

"Yeah but I'm not quite confident with my skills. I'm not like you, guys that has a lot of fans that could support you and already good at writing"

'You'll do great, JustWrites. I also started with no support but look at us now."

"Yeah, look at us now but still in a low-rank"

I glance at my side and a group of writers, chattering with an animal icon of a penguin.

"Anyway, we can beat them if we just work harder"

They smiled at each other as if they should just do their best and they can win every competitions to every talented writers.

Suddenly, writers stood up and grab their belongings. A double -decker red bus with the Scripturient's League logo on the side. Another two bus parked in front of the building, a double-decker blue bus and a double-decker yellow bus with The Scripturient's League logo.

Writers that has the icon of Spinosaurus, Lion and few animals icon that is considered to be one of the high-ranking in animal kingdom went inside the red bus.

"Damnnn, I can't wait what is it like in the Scripturient's District" a white-haired guy, wearing a dark red orange hoodie with a Phoenix icon on his back. "How nice if I would be a high-ranking writer"

"Come on" a blonde ponytailed girl said as she drags the white-haired guy walking towards the blue bus.

"XiaoCheng" Quan Chi called me out. I looked at him and nodded, I stood up from my seat and followed them behind. As I looked at my team's back, I want to level up with my teammates.

I want to sharpen my skills and be one of the high-ranking writers.
