Silent Fight!

"Do I hear husband and wedding bells...?" A male voice was heard.

Both Mariam and all three soldiers turned their head in the direction of the voice.

Where the voice was heard firm was dark.

"Who stands there...?!" Lucas yelled.

"Come out...!" He shouted.

Walking out if the dark, form the shadows, Samuel's figure could be seen.

"I'm just a friend...!" He said as he smiled with his harms outstretched as he looked at Mariam.

For some unknown reason, Mariam felt her heart sink as she gulped.

"Samuel, it's not what you think...!" Mariam quickly said.

Still looking at Mariam, Samuel's smile broadened as he continued to look at her.

His eyes and smile looked scary as he continued to look at her. She felt like she couldn't breathe. She felt tight and hot.

But the action that scared her most, was the way he took his time in responding to her.

Slowly, Samuel said;

"What do you think I'm thinking...?" He asked.

Mariam opened her mouth and was about to say something when Lucas cut in.

"Yes Mariam, how do you know what he was thinking about...?!"

He said as he smiled and look at Samuel.

Samuel looked back at him, also still wearing his own smile that had began to harden.

He clenched his jaw still wearing the smile on and then he held both hands at his back and stood with his legs set apart a bit.

Seeing this, Lucas smiled.

He studied Samuel.

He noticed the clenched jaw of Samuel, the hands that were placed behind and the legs that were set apart a bit...as if ready to fight.

Once he saw all that, his smile increased and then he laughed.

At first, when Samuel appeared, his hands that were in both sides of Mariam on the wall, were removed.

But when he saw Samuel like this, he noticed that there was nothing to be afraid of and do he went back to putting his hands on the wall.

And then he relaxed.

Smiling, and then laughing, h turned to look at Mariam and said;

"Although, I wouldn't mind if you knew what he was thinking...!" He said as he looked down at Mariam in a certain way.

"Except if you were a witch...!" Lucas said as his eyes went down to her lips.

"A witch, that could see anything... everything...!" He said slowly as his eyes began be filled with lust as he slowly leaned forward as if to kiss her.

Seeing this, Mariam gasped.

"Yes, well I think that those exist out of the kingdom....?!" Samuel said from where he stood.

Lucas stopped mid-way, as he looked at one of the soldiers, (the one that had joined him to laugh earlier) who shrugged before turning back slowly to look at Mariam, before she finally, turning back slowly to look at Samuel.

"They were vanished from the Kingdom a few years back...!" Samuel added.

Before Lucas could say anything, Samuel said;

"Mariam, the Prince...!"

As soon as he said that, Mariam seemed to have been in a reverie, because, her eyes snapped back to reality and then she looked at Lucas more clearly, to find out that Lucas was looking at her.

But her stare wasn't for long as Mariam slided under Lucas and approached Samuel.

Samuel too her by the hand.

"Mi'lady...!" He said as he stretched out his hand towards Mariam.

As Mariam approached Samuel, she looked at his face.

He wasn't looking at her direct, although anyone in her position would think that Samuel was looking at her, but anyone that that was in her situation would clearly use their brains to know that Samuel looking at who was behind her.

He was looking at Lucas.

Infact, he wasn't looking at him, he was glaring him.

And Lucas was looking at him back.

In fact, he wasn't just looking, he was smiling on top of it.

Once Mariam discovered what was transpiring between the two men Mariam felt hot.

She ft as if she was in a tight container sealed with it's lid with no way of coming out.

Not only that even...she felt like she was the major because of a serious battle between two warriors/Kingdoms, and whoever wins would become her partner.

The only thing was that, she didn't know who would win, and even if she knew and that person won, she wouldn't still marry the person.

Placing her hand in Samuel's, Samuel gripped her hand tightly and she flinched.

"Ahhhh...!" She cried.

Samuel's eyes that had been on Lucas, looking in anger, suddenly shifted to look at Mariam, and so did Lucas, who still had that smirk on his face.

Once Mariam flinched, Samuel's eyes turned to look down at her. His eye that were filled with some kind of prejudice in them, now turned soft and was filled with tenderness.

Once Samuel gripped her hand, she also held her hand too.

So once he gripped her hand and Mariam flinched and also held her hand in pain, Samuel's sudden change in attitude had Mariam look at him.

Once she flinched and Mariam held her hand, Samuel turned, and then, Mariam whispered;

"Samuel, let's get out of here...!" Her voice sounded shaky.

But she said it in a tone that was audible only to Samuel and herself.

When she whispered that to Samuel, Samuel that had been looking at Mariam's wrist, slowly shifted his eyes his to look up at Mariam.

Once his eyes met Mariam's, she forgot the fact that she was older than Samuel with about three (3) years or whatever...SHE GOT SCARED!!!

When Samuel looked at her, she felt like melting, because the way he looked at her, she felt her knees wobble.

Looking from her wrist, and into her eyes, his eyes that were caressing her wrist, stopped it's work.

"Please...!" She begged.

Samuel looked away from her eyes to look behind her, and then turned back to look at her and then kissed her wrist and caressed it before turning to look at Lucas and said;

"I'm sorry Sir Lucas...!"

"But you'll have to excuse us..."

With that, he held Mariam's hand tightly, but not too tight in order not to bruise her, or cause her pain, and then he pulled her to walk alongside him, and, without, reluctance, she agreed, walking briskly past Lucas and the two (2) other guards.

Walking past them in their midst, Samuel and Mariam left.

Lucas just stood there with a smirk on his face that turned to a smile, and then later, he started laughing.
