An Alibi to lean on, or maybe an Foe to stab in the back

Settling the cake from a small plate aside, Adelaide faces the person. " Oh well I do have someone with me, but for now I'm alone for the time being," she stated, and her delicate fingers covered her mouth for a while.

" If so, then can I be with you for a while?"

She pleaded with a pure and innocent look on hers. Tempting and dangerous. Adelaide gulped as if a snake held her captive.

The lady almost hesitated and was sorely unhappy, but Adelaide couldn't say no. " Well, of course, it would be my pleasure," Adelaide smiled, and the Peach-haired woman smiled back at her. She dressed like a scholar, as they were noticeable badges around her. Adelaide speculated, and it seems she wasn't a very ordinary person.

And before the odd lady was able to indulge in the chat, she stopped on the tracks and remembered something. " Oh! I also forgot to introduce myself, how rude of me." she exclaimed.

" I am Lilian Carmine, I'm new around here, " she lavishly lowered her head. Lilian Carmine was a scholar from overseas. And as from employing overseas, and she is adjusting to living life in the Empire. " Nice to meet you, Lady Lilian," slyly living a tiny smirk.

" I am Adelaide Eilberts, Daughter of Marquess Eilberts," Adelaide bowed back, and Lilian flinched by hearing the "Eilberts" name from her lips. The target seems to be just in front of her; she might be lucky. She clicked her tongue, smiling wryly. " Ah, never expected I converse with one of the future Princess of Athartha," Lilian grabs a slice of cake from the table, and so Adelaide gets her cupcake again.

Adelaide slightly sneers, and this was considered a boost to her ego. Of course, who will never recognize the Eilberts name? Only the uneducated ones who never knew them. Even Nobles respect their presence, and peasants fear.

Both of the ladies talk for a while before the Main reception starts. In the enormous window, and a black suit guy with a mask. Spying at every corner as it secretly glimpses at the people from the inside. He slowly remembers what they did. The man with the black suit slowly inspects Adelaide, and before the guards notice the trespasser; They are now long gone from one glimpse.

[ I almost got caught, I should report this quickly]

The Guards were in a hurry to report this to the young master, muttering, and they might fear Damien might kill them. But poor guards still rushed over into the young master with trembling legs over them. They were on the balcony with the other people.

" My Lord!" One of the guards exclaimed, and Damien has caught the attention, painfully groaning.

" What is it?" His angered look had made the guards almost choke, and his eyes shrewd as he stood by for the guard's report. Damien was with other men chattering crucial discussion. And the guards gulped with his dry throat. Man, he looks angry to them. " M-my Lord Heinrich! My apologies... for the disturbance, but I have something to report with you in personal!" A guard stuttered, and Damien hisses as he was about to make connections, and these pesky guards just ruined it for him.

Damien irks as He grasps his nose bridge. " Master Oz, I shall take my leave first. I deeply pardon myself," Damien put down his glass of wine that was half full. Oz deeply sighs with a smile, such a young man and has been drowned with endless responsibilities. It reminds him of the Young Emperor of Dawn.

The man mentally shrugged off. " Young Lord, No need to apologize. I understand you after all. After, His Grace become bed-ridden, and as you being the Son, My lord has become responsible to your father's duties," The tall man waved Damien a farewell, and slyly.

" I hope we have the time to talk again, My Lord." Oz thought out loud and drank the red wine relishing the excellent aroma of it.

One guard follows Damien outside and where people are nowhere to be seen and out of the crowds. Damien stood to stop his tracks in the garden of hedges that completely hid them from sight. The guard's anxious face shifted into a composed aura.

The young master crossed with both hands on the chest; he laid his back on the hard pole as his face darkened gazes at the guard. " So is it what I have said?" He expected an answer from the guard, and his eyes squint waiting.

The guards nod as assurance. " A black-suited man did break in the Mansion, and it the exact speculation on what you have told me." He reported. Damien breathily laughed at what he heard, and Not surprising enough for him anymore.

His brows furrowed with a laugh plastered as it falters.

" Seems His Highness is too cautious about us, too wary it might kill him soon enough," Damien went closer one step to the guard, and he was either being good as he patted the guard's shoulder. " Good job on how you have carried this mission. I have never known you were such an remarkable actor!" He complimented sincerely.

He was delighted from such complimentary he ever had heard. " Your flaterring me, my lord. I have only did what you have assigned me." He cowered in front of Damien.

"I have swear my loyalty to the Family, and I shall carry out the mission with sincerity," the guard vowed, and Damien felt respected. He ordered him to stand, and so does the guard does as he told.

" Continue on your work, and lengthen the security," He patted the guard's shoulder. A tiny 'yes' from the guard as confirmation, and Damien left him in the garden of hedges. His infuriated facade shifted again, and he saw some nobles had already peered on him. Their stares were noticeable, and the young man avoided it. He continued to pass on them.

He could not care less of those peasants, their loathed gazes on them, and countless rumors spread throughout the whole nation. He still never cared about it. The Duke and Duchess have taught them to ignore their hatred no matter how agonizing it can be.

" Hold it in for a while, my child," He flashes back to his younger years, and His Father was with them healthy, and the gleeful smile displayed on his expressions. The Duke reassures the twin with a small head pat, and Duchess was with them carrying a basket of berries.

He looked at the young twins. His eyes could tell he was full of worries. But he still believed in them as it was his children. " We are both misunderstood, but thanks to the Prince of Night he had blessen us with authority to protect we love and this-," the Duke grabs a tiny berry from the basket. And so he amused the twin with a subtle light coming from it as it slowly vanishes from the air leaving specks of dust. "A magic." he tremendously said with a wonder that makes the twin gasp from the simple magic. " Always remember, even people hated us, we are higher than them. We Heinrich has the ability to turn livings into a dust," the Duke was confident telling them by this fact.

Damien missed those days, his childhood, and his naivety. But his fate already tied, as he was born from the future sequence. Life carries its time. Even them.

The young master brushed off from Heinz. The magician was astonished when he was realized he had just met his old classmate. No matter how many years it has been, the Young Master of Heinrich was always the same. Clenching his hands slowly.

' Heavens what have I sinned.' he quietly cursed, standing there in frozen. Looking back again, he saw Damien with another group of people now. Best to avoid him now.

Clack. Clack.

A loud clang of the glass rung from his ear, and Heinz veered to the sound were. Carmilla was holding the glass and fork in her hand to attract attention. And a hundred aristocrats were all eyes on her on the grand stairs, and it went quiet. " Ladies and gentlemen, and visitors from the vast world, Welcome to the Banquet! What a pleasant day isnt it?" Carmilla scans to the people, and she hides her annoyed expression to see somebody missing. ' Such a hard to get,' she clicked her tongue.

" I am Camilla Rossane Von Heinrich~ and you are welcome in here as always, " she sugar-coated said with an alluring smile as if a spell they were bewitched from it. And so does signals the musicians to play. Heinz scrutinized her moves.

Back at our Lady Adelaide, the number of debates they have turned into friendly talks between Lilian. Both ladies seem to be merry and has been gossiping a lot of hot topic swirling from the kingdom. Both of them has been sharing their experience as if they never met hours ago. " Back in Veschia, noble peoples are just full of liars, and even their money are more pitiful than them," Adelaide holds back her laughter from Lilian's full of facts from her own country. Clearly, it feels like Lilian hated her homeland.

" Ah its a good thing I talk to you," Lilian chuckles.
