His approval.

"And this is it." He says as we get back to the living room.

Jaxon had taken me round the four bedroom house which has a pool, garden, courtyard, a gaming room, and an underground hot pool.

I knew Jaxon's rich, but damn is he rich.

"I would have shown you my dad's study, but he keeps it locked when he's not home."

"Why? Is he keeping something?" I joke and he chuckles.

"I wish."

"Dinner's ready!" Jaxon's mom shouts and we both walk to the dinning room.

The dinning room is a medium size room with a glass table of six, two mini sinks by the door, and a medium size TV by the left side of the room.

"Since we have a guest, I made chicken and spiced spaghetti." Mrs Prinston says as she sits.

"Sweet." Taylor smiles.

Just as we are about to dig in, a man walks in.

He has blond hair, black eyes and is in a suit and tie.

"Do I smell spaghetti?" He takes off his suit and hangs it on his chair.

"You mean, 'spiced' spaghetti." Gloria smiles and he gasps.

"'Spiced' spaghetti?" He repeats.

Yes." Gloria nods.

"What's the occasion?" He asks.

He hasn't noticed me. I'm sitting next to Jaxon, Jaxon next to his 'father', his 'father' beside Gloria, and Gloria beside Taylor.

"Summer's here." Taylor speaks up.

"Who?" He finally turns to me and his eyes widen. "I'm sorry I didn't know you were there." I shake my hand.

I'm so small I get it.

"It's fine." I smile.

"You're Summer?" He asks and I nod.

"Hi Mr Prinston."

"Hi. Well-done son, you landed yourself a fine one."

What?

"Jaden!" Gloria smacks him.

"Dad!" Jaxon shouts.

"No?" He asks, looking from his wife to his son.

"No." Jaxon replies.

"I'm sorry Summer. That was inappropriate." Mr Prinston apologies and I shake my head.

"It's fine."

"So how long have you two been dating?" He asks as he serves himself spaghetti.

Why do people keep assuming we're dating?

"Dad!" Jaxon shouts again.

"Um..." I didn't know what to say.

"She says they're friends." Gloria adds.

"Oh, I get it." He winks at me.

"Dad, no no no no. It's not what you're thinking." Jaxon speaks up.

"Sure thing son. Why don't we let it slide and we all eat?" Mr Prinston suggests and Jaxon sighs.

"Finally." Taylor murmurs.

"So Summer," His dad begins. "You in the same class with Jaxon?"

"I wouldn't say classmates, but we do have some classes together." He nods.

"Is he a bad kid?"

"Well," I look at Jaxon. "I wouldn't say bad per se, but we're managing him."

"What?" Jaxon exclaims and I laugh.

"I always knew you were one of the bad ones." Taylor shakes her head in disapproval.

"You can't be serious."Jaxon turns to me.

"That true son?" His dad asks.

"Dad! You know it's not." Mr Prinston also shakes his head in disappointment and I couldn't stop laughing.

"Oh son." Gloria sighs.

"Not you too mom!" He shouts.

.....

Dinner went by fine, we had apple pie for dessert and it was time for me to head home.

"Dinner was lovely thanks." I smile at Gloria.

"It's no problem. I hope you stop by often." She smiles.

"That's if Jaxon decides to bring me back after what I said."

"I'll skin him alive if he doesn't." Taylor adds.

"You wish." Jaxon eyes her. "You ready?" He asks me and I nod.

"Jaden went to make his call, but he says his goodbyes." Gloria adds.

"It's no problem." I wave to them and walk out.

We both walk to the car in silence, and I speak up when he starts the ignition.

"Dinner with your family was fun."

"Well, you were present. What do you expect?" He smiles at me before he starts driving.

"Funny." I roll my eyes.

Half an hour later, he parks in front of my house.

"Thanks for today." I unbuckle my seatbelt.

"It's my pleasure."

"See you tommorow." I open the door and Jaxon walks me to my front door. Just as I'm about to open it, he stops me.

"Hathaway?"

"Hm?" I turn to him.

"Can I let you in on a little secret?" He asks.

"Sure."

"I don't want you to leave just yet."

Shit.

Of all things I thought he would say, I did not expect that.

I didn't reply.

No.

I couldn't reply.

"But you have to go in or your dad would kill me." He chuckles. "And I can't let that happen since I need his approval."

"For what?" I finally find my voice.

He looks at me for a few seconds before he smiles.

"I'll see you tomorrow Hathaway." He turns and walks away, leaving me confused on my porch.
