I worked with quickness to beat the time. I couldn't believe I was working fast to catch up with her by 2:00pm.
I knew I didn't have the whole day to work but maybe I would just do my part and let Michael take over.
"Seth, are you heading somewhere?" Rebecca asked when she saw me rushing. "Errr...I'm just meeting up with someone" I said putting on my coat and checking the time.
"Wow! Is it a girl?" she asked looking at me with a suspicious look. "Well yeah it is, but it’s just to show her something and nothing more" I said turning to go then heard Michael mumbles.
"Whoever she is must be like him. No one would want to date someone like him" I heard him but pretended not to hear and I know he noticed that I heard him.
Yes, no one could date me and I was not willing to have a girlfriend or friends to be hanging around with, I had better things to do. She was just dragging me alongside her which I didn't know the reason. I'd ask her when I get the chance to.
I finally reached the new eatery and found her sitting on a bench outside, I sighed and walked up to her. "Sorry I'm late" I pleaded
"It’s nothing, I just got here" she smiled standing up. "Shall we?" She asked walking ahead as I follow her behind, there is something totally different about her, I know of some girls who are soft but tough at the same time, even in some books I've read, girls did have different personality but she was different.
If it were to be another girl, she would have yelled at me for coming even a second late. Who is she? We walked like always side by side but she was the one bringing up topics of discussion on either how she felt when she woke up or something totally different.
"So, what kinds of books do you like, romance, adventures or horror?" She asked when we arrived at the city library, we got inside climbing the stairs, i didn't even know what category I liked. Books are life. I sometimes felt like i was a character.
"Fantasy, something which is virtual and artificial" I said as she turned.
"You mean fake?" She asked and I shrug.
"Anything not real at all" I answered. She humped and walked to one side of the library and I went to another side checking if I'd find a nice one.
She was just walking around not probably checking out any new books, I sighted her coming my side but I ignored her acting like I didn't see her.
"You know, I showed you this place so you can check a book you can borrow and read, reading novel isn’t my thing. I hate sad endings or sad beginnings.
You know, like every novel or short stories must have something sad to make the book livelier. It can't just start happy and end happy or start sad or end sad." She said walking around me.
"There is this book I read about human system which says, if something is wrong in your system and it probably stop working, you eat some ones part and you survive, you know like having a stomach ache, you eat someone's stomach to survive." She giggled. She really talked foolish things.
I still didn't understand all what she said because it sounded. "And the book is under what category?" I asked her.
"History" she answered picking a book from a shelf. There is no way in history something like that exit, but why do I feel that way? It might be some other fantasy book. I sighed and continued finding my book.
"I would love trying it with someone you know" She said, i know i heard her but it didn't get to my sense on time. so i replied her sluggishly until It rings to what she had just said.
Turning to her in confusion, she smirked and rush to me hitting me on the wall and bending her head.
"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked, she doesn't really mean what she said right?
She raised her head sending a grin at me.
"I want to have a taste of your kidneys!" She yelled happy and I looked down at her in surprise. "Eh?"
She stared at me slowly before moving away laughing foolishly making noise in the library and everyone turned to look at us with a dead glare.
"Hey, lower your voice, you’re in a library" I whispered.
"You sure don't think I mean it right? I mean how would I eat your kidney, I'm not an animal actually" she said in between laughter.
"You seem insane, do you know?"
"Maybe" she still laughs finding a table to sit and watched me find a book to read. After all, most of the books that are here, none seemed to interest me so I asked her if we could go and return some other time.
“Sure, that’s not a problem to me, just showed you in case I’m not there” she say.
"I'm hungry" she cried looking around. There was a cafe I sighted on our way out and prayed she didn't see it but yup, she did see it and ended up dragging me along with her, I had no choice but to agree. So I allowed her drag me along, what a bee she is.
"Yesh, I'm damn hungry" she cried again placing her head on the table, we had just ordered for some food and patience is needed, I was about to tell her to calm down but then the waiter arrived.
"Thank you" she appreciated happily and then dug in. I only watched as she ate. Is she really trying to get fat?
"This place is super cool, I will call a friend to tag along next time" she said and brought out her phone from her jeans pocket.
"You don't necessary have to do that, I don’t need anyone tagging along me?"
"And why is that?" She asked mouthful. It would be very bad of me to just tell her who I am, just meeting her three days ago, staying those days I've probably hung around and wished to thank her. Never had anyone by my side aside Jamie.
"I don't keep friends" I said, looking away trying to avoid her eye contact. "Why don't you keep friends" she asked. "I don't feel like keeping them because I don't want to be criticized, I mean, you shouldn't be with me. Ever since I was a kid my father hated me and calls me a misanthropist.
My class mates who I didn't know some and some might be dead by now, so I think it’s better to be in a virtual world than being here, no one is interested in me" I said looking at her for a second she holds a sad and pity expression then suddenly she smiled "I'm interested?"
"What do you mean?"
"I want to be your friend" she grinned.
"I'm being serious, let’s exchange contact so we would be able to text each other on where to meet next."
"I'm working; it’s not possible for me to always come out hanging with you." I said.
"Come on its just for a while, come on give me your phone! We can be great friends!" She grinned again like always, she was always laughing. I had never seen her sad before though we just met.
Well, I didn't know her that much so I was not to judge if she was hiding her real image or not.
