CHAPTER THIRTEEN
Emeka made up his mind to talk to his father about his mother. He decided to ask for his father’s permission to go and look for her. He met his father while he and his stepmother were watching television at the sitting room.
“Dad,” Emeka began. “Please, I want to go and look for my mother.”
His father was taken aback by Emeka’s request.
“Why do you want to look for her? After all she did to your father and to you, you still want to meet her?” Ijeoma, his step mother, asked.
“I just want to hear her own side of the story. I want to know why she hated me so much. Please Dad, where can I find her?” Emeka asked.
“I don’t want to hear about that woman in this house again. You have to abolish every thought you have about her. It is true that Ijeoma is your stepmother, but has she not treated you like her own son? What more do you need?” Uzo, his father, asked.
“I’m sorry Dad, I’m sorry Mum,” Emeka said. He decided to let the matter drop.
