I got home early today. I was supposed to go somewhere with my friends but guess what? They left me for their dates.

I posted something on my social media account as a joke.

"I need new friends. Those who don't leave me for their partners."

Within a minute, my phone vibrated continuously so I checked it. They messaged me on our group chat and apologized for talk shitting our supposed to be food trip session.

"Sorry, I forgot that Reinier and I already have a plan for today." Piolo chatted.

Then Reinier, "We'll make it up to you tomorrow." With a kiss emoji after sending his apology.

His boyfriend, being possessive as usual, sent a frown emoji. Reinier quickly apologizes to him.

Whilst Gwynette, who just joined the conversation, instead of apologizing, teased me and the couple.

"Don't worry, he was kidding about finding new friends."

Reinier cuts him off, "What if he's not?"

Gwynette sent a laughing emoji before sending her reply. "No one wants him as a friend. They like him to be their boyfriend." The couple agreed. I shook my head, what a silly young lady.

"Kidding aside," Gwynette chatted. "Aren't you going to date someone again? You seem so lonely when we're not around." She added.

I sighed.

I don't want to be in a relationship just because I felt lonely.

I want to reply that to her but I held myself back. Instead, I replied, "I just got out of a toxic relationship and you want me to be in a cage again? Ugh, hell no."

They all laughed.

I may sound like I was kidding, but I was not.

All my past relationships felt like I was some prisoner who couldn't get out of the jail anymore. It was suffocating.

It was like my love life was meant to be like this. I even thought that I would be single forever because every lady I've dated were all the same.

"Guess I'll talk to you guys later. Bye." I finally put down my phone and went into the bathroom for a quick shower.

I was reading the book I borrowed from my sister. Only a few pages to turn and I'm done with it.

The book was actually nice. I thought it'll be like every love story I knew and I read but it turns out it was not.

I exhaled deeply. It's done.

Who the heck was the author of this book? It was excellent, I won't lie. But the problem was, the story ended too soon!

The writer even puts a sudden plot twist at the end and now I want to know what happened, however, the author decided to finish the story after the main characters were finally happy.

A loud and short knock was made.

"Bro!" It was Ea. I lazily stood up to open the door for her, "What?" I replied with a frown.

"Can I borrow some money?" I frowned even more. "What for? And why are you asking me for money? I'm not your mother." She stumped her feet, her smile was turned upside down, throwing a tantrum.

"I'll pay you, I promise! I just don't have enough money to buy my idols' latest dropped merchandise. And I don't want to ask mom for money because I'm shy!" She yelled.

I remembered the book I was reading earlier. I went back inside to go grab it and her money.

"Here–" I put her book on top of her hand.

"Where's the money?" She asked excitedly.

"Chill, girl. Here–" Before she could grab the money, I asked her something in return first.

"Not so fast, huh. You don't have to pay me back but I need something from you."

She stared at me, with her eyes getting smaller, and a suspicious look on her face.

"I need some information about the author of that book," I pointed at the book that she was holding.

She paused for a while and got her phone out of her pocket. She was typing fast. I heard my phone's ringtone which means I got a notification. I checked it, it was from Ea.

I opened it and saw information about the writer I was looking for.

I smiled from ear to ear, "Here's your money. Thanks." I pat her head.
