Exiting the palace was easier than arriving; being escorted back to the gate without being searched or questioned. The guards seemed to be happy she was gone, although she couldn't quite shake the uneasy, paranoid nature of those within the palace walls. She had been an anomaly to their structured, orderly ways. Although it hadn't been made clear if the problem was that she was there to visit the Representative, if it was because they thought her a child, or a combination of both.

Upon her return to their wagon, Mae could tell that Kyurn was more displeased than Ven by her extended absence, wearing an apparent scowl as he followed her inside, barely giving her a moment to put away her bag before confronting her in the bedroom.

"You aren't here to make nice with the courtiers!" He stressed his anger while trying to keep his voice down.

Regardless of how private it felt to be within the wagon, the windows were open and there was plenty of people about.
