~Chapter 134~

The sun had just begun to rise when they pulled into the campsite that Mae and Baas had used in their previous trip, nestled amongst the roots at the base of an ancient tree, a free-flowing river, passing in behind it.

Mae had managed to get some sleep after speaking with Strativar, out of sheer exhaustion and the warmth and comfort of Baas' back against her own.

Rousing to the sway of the wagon as it left the road, Mae was pleased to see the dense, early morning fog surrounding them, concealing them away beneath it, even though she knew that it would begin to lift with the further rising of the suns. Still, it brought a strange sense of comfort, like hiding beneath a blanket on a chilly morning.
