NECRO-Driver Dawn EP 26: The Fall of Oasis Part 1

Lalah: Lady Shirina?

Lady Shirina: Hm?

Lalah: My lady, if I may, this mission seems like a formality of sorts.

Lady Shirina: What makes you think that?

Lalah: Skia' knows more about Oasis than any of us here. She's been to it before, and she knows more about the Blitzwing members than any of us do as well. She's the obvious choice to be leading this mission, so why put Graves in charge? His ego will only create unnecessary risk. Not only that, but the Captain has proven that he is more reliable than Graves as well.

Lady Shirina: Shenrei?

Shenrei: Don't look at me, I agree with everything she said. But I've learned that there's always something going on with you. You're always plotting something in your head. So tell us, what's the real reason behind this?

Lady Shirina: Lalah was it?

Lalah: Yes my lady?

Lady Shirina: Your analysis is very astute, and your perception is equally as impressive. I'm beginning to like you.

Lalah: *Shivers* Why do I feel so uneasy then?

Shenrei: Don't worry, you'll get used to it.

Lady Shirina: The fact of the matter is that both of you are right. Graves is a complete liability, and there's no reason to keep him around at this point. He's more damaging to us than he is helpful.

Shenrei: But…

Lady Shirina: But he does have a role to play in my grand scheme of things. As insufferable as Graves can be, he is serving his role quite well.

Shenrei: And he has no idea?

Lady Shirina: Not even the slightest bit.

Shenrei: Well no one can certainly discredit you by saying you aren't resourceful.

Lady Shirina: My thoughts exactly. Say, why don't the two of you watch how this developing story unfolds with me?

Shenrei: What about Lalah's training?

Lady Shirina: She's impressed me more than enough, I think she should be rewarded. Besides, this is training. We'll test just how good her perception of things really is.

Shenrei: So be it. Lalah, we may as well see how things go.

Lalah: Yes Captain.

*Meanwhile, in an unknown location… Jin is flying around lost in thought. His thought, constantly playing out the scene right before he left the Blitzwing* (Stop playing the song)

Jin: (... Sarlen… Sonjo, Khan, Roux, Skia', everyone…) *He snaps out of thought as he sees a nearby city* I wonder what place that is. *He flies down in an undisclosed location to leave his mech* Strange… This city seems like it's completely unaffected by the war. Perhaps the influence of the Principality isn't as great as we thought. This place should give me some solace.

*Jin walks around the city, and begins assessing his current situation. As he does that, he hears someone running up to him at full speed.* (Play Naruto OST 2 - Fooling Mode on loop)

Taliah: DADDY!

*But before Jin can even react, he's ambushed by a child who jumps on him, and starts holding his arm tightly!*

Jin: What the hell?!

Taliah: Daddy, where have you been? Mom and I have been looking for you everywhere! Oh, mommy will be so happy when I bring you back home to us!

Jin: Hey, listen here kid, I ain't your dad! I don't know who you think I am, but I'm not him! *He tries to remove the child by their arm, but to no avail.* Hey! Let go of me you midget!

Taliah: What's wrong? Aren't you happy to see me?

Jin: NO! I don't even know who you are!

Taliah: I'm your daughter, and you're my dad! What about mom and me? Don't you love us anymore?

Jin: Who cares about your mom? I don't know either of you! And for the last time, I'm not your dad!

*The child begins crying very loudly, and wraps around Jin's ankle. People in the area begin to look, and some begin to comment.

Random Elderly Person: Such a disgraceful young man you are! Even if you don't love the mother and child any more, the least you could do is claim the child as your own.

Random Civilian: I swear, these youngsters have no sense of honor!

Jin: I DON'T KNOW ANYONE HEREEEE! How could this be my child? You guys must all be suffering from mass amounts of ignorance! (Sheesh! I think I've been around Roux and Khan too long. My inner rage and disrespect is showing.)

*Just when he thought things couldn't get any more chaotic, someone else arrives*

Mamiko: *Scared gasp* TALIAH! There you are! *She runs up to her daughter, who at this point is still wrapped around Jin's ankle.*

Jin: Do you know her? Oh thank goodness! I was worried that-

Mamiko: What the hell are you doing to my daughter?

Jin: Hey don't say it like that! You're making me sound like I'm some sort of sick freak! This whole situation is all just a big misunderstanding.

Mamiko: *Angry* YOU ARE A FREAK! Why is my daughter wrapped around your ankle and crying?

Jin: Why are you asking me? I literally just got here, and YOUR daughter ran up to me calling me "daddy." I don't know you, and I don't know this kid. I don't even have any kids! So before you start trying to tell me what I am, how about you take just five seconds, shut the hell up, and maybe learn how to be a better parent!

(Stop playing the song) *The crowd falls silent, everyone starting to whisper*

Random Civilian: Did he just say that?

Random Civilian: I think he did, can you believe this guy? Just shows up and starts causing trouble.

Mamiko: *Fire aura begins surrounding her.* Why you…

Jin: (Uh oh, now I've done it.) Oh great, what now? You gonna go all super saiyan on me? (Jin, shut up already, damn!)

Mamiko: You're dead! *She charges at Jin, loading up her arm to throw a big slap across his face. Before she can even connect though, Jin casually flicks her nose. She stops in her tracks…* Hey… what was that for? (Play Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep OST - Dearly Beloved)

Jin: To get you to listen to reason, I didn't come here to cause any chaos. Look, I'm sorry, but whoever your daughter thinks I am, I'm not him. I'm not her father, but it sounds like the actual father left at some point in her lifetime. I'm sorry that happened to you, but you need to be strong and set a good example for her. The world isn't kind to people who aren't able to move forward. Trust me, I know all too well the horrors of what this world can do. *He gently removes the girl from his ankle, who has stopped crying. He helps her up, before handing her back to her mom.* Take care of yourselves.
