I will be the first to admit. I am terrible at aiming. It's been about 2 months since I left home and started helping my sister. During these two months, my aim has not improved. I've had to literally get up to point blank range to hit people with this shotgun.
Well at least I don't have to worry about running out of ammo, but it'd be nice if I could just hit someone farther than 10 feet of me. What's the point of using a shotgun to kill things 10 feet of me when I have the Crucible sword?
[Master Wave, we are approaching the air lock. Scans show that we have not been detected as of yet.] I hear Onyx inform me as I've just been sitting in this ship, letting him fly it for me as if it was on autopilot.
"Thanks for the heads up. Think we can get them all?"
[It is possible. We will need to mitigate as much injury as we can once they are thrown out the air lock.]
"Can't we like catch them with a net or something?"
[It can be created with hard-light, however doing so would reveal us. Your sister has made it explicitly clear that we must remain unseen.]

"I need you to go on a rescue mission and bring back Gladstone Katoa." Amber stated as she gave her brother his next job.
"Gladstone... wasn't he that scientist that made the constructor bot for Hyperion?" He said a bit unsure since the Pre-Sequel was pretty meh to him.
"If we had him, then we wouldn't need to spend 30 points just to unlock the digistruct factory again. Currently we can't handle Vladof in a head on fight with just us. We need to get our army up and running again." she explained, bringing up Gladstone's image on a projector screen.
"Remind me again, why our robots consist of droids from star wars? No offense guys." he called out to the droids guarding the door.
"None taken!" one of them responded back
"Dad and I were big fans. Also it doesn't just consist of droids, I remember dad copied blueprints from that Overwatch game you played before. It's just droids are the most cost efficient for us right now." She clarified, apparently their father had fun copying tech from other realities. "If you want, you can try to scan a robot you like from another reality when we get our facilities up and running again."
"Alright, well where do I gotta go?" He asked getting down to business.
"The airlock is just next to Jack's office which is easy to find. No matter what happens, Gladstone needs to live." She stressed the fact.
"What about the other scientists?" he asked remembering there were more than just one scientist dying.
"Save them if you want, however I will warn you that Dr. Grayson won't be able to work for us." She said, bringing up a screen with Dr. Grayson's face and profile.
"Why not?"
"He's been supplying the Lost Legion with stealth tech and is a mole for Zarpedon. I'd rather not have someone as shady as that work under me at these early stages of development." She admitted. Although it would be nice to have their stealth tech back online without spending points, she isn't willing to risk moles in her company before they were fully operational.

"If only there were a way for us to control the direction they flew out of the air lock." I hummed out in thought. I'm not sure how getting sucked out of an air lock works, but it'd be nice if they could get sent in my direction.
[I could create a suction force with a dimensional portal for a short time. However I'd have to close it quickly before they fell right through it.] Onyx suggested.
"That could work. I'll try catching them." I agreed. As long as I caught them, they shouldn't be too injured, I hope.
Before the hatch opened, I cloaked myself along with the inside of the cabin before opening up the hatch. Hopefully no one sees a transparent barrier to keep me from getting sucked out the opening, but Jack shouldn't be concerned with staring out the window right now anyway.
[Hatch is opening.] Onyx alerted me as I got ready to catch anyone who flew towards me.
For a moment I saw a quick flash as one of the bodies was immediately disintegrated. I nearly forgot to catch the 3 bodies flying towards me in my surprise. Did Onyx just vaporize Grayson?
I waited for the hatch to close before inspecting the three scientists. They were unconscious and one of them seems to have sustained a head injury.
"Alright let's get back." I decided not to speak about Onyx vaporizing the other doctor, I'm guessing it was an order from my sister.

"Jack, DON'T!" The scientist woke up with a knee-jerk reaction of his limb forward. "I... what?" Gladstone blinked in confusion, pulling back his bandaged arm.
"Well good morning to you too." He turned to his side to see Dr. Langois in a medical bed.
"YOUR RANDOM SHOUTS ARE MAKING ME UNCOMFORTABLE." And next to him was Dr. Torres, with his head bandaged up.
"I..Sorry bruvs. How are we still alive? Coulda sworn Jack threw us out of that air lock." Gladstone asked with confusion as Dr. Langois just shrugged.
"Beats me, I just woke up a minute ago." He responded, taking a look at the room they were in. It looked like a medical facility.
"YOUR SCREAM WOKE ME UP!" Dr. Torres said in his default shouting voice.
"Good, the meatbags have awakened. I'll inform the boss. Stand here and keep watch." The 3 scientists turned to the door as a lanky looking bot noticed them.
"Why do I have to be the one to watch them?" Another droid asked
"Because I said so." the first bot retorted
"Roger, roger..." the second bot slumped.
"Aren't those A-tech droids?" Dr. Langois asked recognizing them. He was the one who designed the loader bot and had looked into the droids used by Aversis Tech in the past.
"I think you're right. What do you think's going on?"
"I DON'T KNOW BUT I'M ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED!" Torres shouted, holding his teddy bear.
"Hey, stop shouting so loudly over there!" The guard droid ordered.
The door slid open a moment later, revealing a gray haired teen that was around 5'7. His red eyes scanned the room in what looked to be relief.
"Greetings, I am Wave Aversis. Head of Special Operations and Recruitment." Wave introduced himself. He was wearing some more professional clothes with a black A-Tech Jacket. It wasn't what he was used to, but his sister said he needs to look the part.
"Uh, Gladstone Katoa. Sorry bruv, but what's going on?"
"My sister, the current CEO had found that you had made an impressive feat of making your own large-scale digistruct construct. So she had sent me to find you to speak to you about a job offering. While it's true that we have already made more advancements in digistruct technology, we are always on the look out for competent people as we rebuild ourselves back to our former glory." Wave gave his offering like he practiced. Honestly he stood in front of the mirror for hours rehearsing this.
"However when I had been sent to search for you. I had found that you were about to be launched out of an air lock, so I made a hasty rescue. You three have been asleep for a few weeks now. Heh, you would think with all our advancements in technology, we would have a better medical facility." Wave chuckled in amusement that he just realized their medical equipment weren't up to par compared to their other fields of technology.
"So you saved us then? Many thanks." Dr. Langois chimed in.
"THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I AM TERRIFIED OF DYING."
"Thanks for the save, sir and that's a lot to take in. Do you think I could talk to the boss herself?"
"Sure, follow me." he agreed before beginning to lead them out the room.
"Oh and sorry about this but do you know where Dr. Grayson is?"
"Ah, my apologies but I was only successful of saving you three. My condolences if you were close to the late Dr. Grayson." Wave said honestly. Technically he was speaking the truth, he was only 'successful' in saving the three of them.
"Ah no worry's mate. It's a shame, especially what happened with Jack." Gladstone said regretfully.
"THAT JACK WAS NOT A COOL DUDE!"
"I hope my son is alright."Langois muttered following along.
Wave remained silent for the rest of the way towards his sister's office.

Within her chamber, a girl quietly looked at the playback of her father killing the four scientists that he had sent the vault hunters to rescue. She felt conflicted and wanted to say something, but deep down she knew her father wouldn't have listened. In the end she could only rationalize that he truly could not take the chance of one of them being a mole.
"Having second thoughts?" a feminine voice sounded out behind her.
The girl immediately turned her attention behind her. And for once she had to do it physically. The feeling of panic washed over her as it was impossible for anyone else besides her father to be here. She nearly had a heart attack, noticing another girl in the room.
"Nothing's impossible, Angel." The blue haired girl said with a confident smile. Angel knew who this person was, the new CEO of Aversis Tech.
"How did you get in here?" Angel asked immediately on guard as she prepared to send out a distress signal to her father.
"I have my ways, but more importantly it looks like your dad over there has been doing some morally questionable things." Amber chuckled in amusement as she stared over at the screen.
"He has his reasons." she reflexively defended her father.
"Just like he had his reasons for locking you up here?" The CEO gave the siren a half lidded stare.
"...Yes." the siren mumbled out sadly. Amber Aversis stared at the caged up siren for a moment before rolling her eyes.
"You know, I have a brother. I'm sure you know this as I've had him do odd jobs for me the past few months. I noticed you spying on him." A dangerous glint appeared in the X's of her eyes.
"But that's not the point here. You know originally I was going to just wait for a moment to kill you and rip your siren powers out of your corpse," Angel felt a cold chill run down her spine. "But my little brother Wave, the bleeding heart that he is, asked me to give you a chance."
"It's probably because he can relate to your situation. Being locked up in a shitty place for most of your life." That actually got Angel's attention.
"You see our parents had to lock him up in a terrible place. And not only that, it was since he was born. For 15 years his only connection to the outside world was watching others through screens. However unlike you, he could never interact with them." She truly smiled bitterly as she recalled this.
"It was only recently that he had gained his freedom, of course with some risks that will come to bite him in the future. Now do you know what he said to me when I said I was going to kill you?" Amber stared at the Siren with glowing eyes.
"...What did he say?" she asked curiously
"An innocent girl like that shouldn't have to be as lonely me, so I want to be friends with her." Amber quoted her idiot of a brother.
"...I'm not innocent."
"Well that's not what he thinks. Although I do agree with him, her death was not your fault." she stated with a smirk, knowing about the circumstances regarding her mother's death. As the siren was about to argue, Amber held up her hand.
"But anyway, consider this a greeting and an offer of recruitment. Don't be so quick to refuse, just give it some thought. I'd hate for Wave to miss out on a friend that's around his age. I don't think he'd refuse talking with you if you called him sometimes." Angel watched silently as the CEO unraveled into scattered pages until even the pages disappeared into motes of blue light.
She wondered if she should tell her father. In the end she kept her silence and wondered if someone like her could have a friend.
