What to do now?

"Hey sis, I'm back." Wave muttered out with some melancholy as he entered his sister's office again.

The war had just ended and he had finally returned to the Onyxia. All droids were called back and un-digistructed into data to save on materials. Although it can't be said that the battle was won as they retreated from the planet, the objective was complete, which was good enough.

"What's got you so down?" Amber hummed as she put up Ivan's arm on the display tube on the wall. She had finally completed the set and got her revenge, vengeance was sweet.

"I failed to accomplish the manly dream." Wave clenched his fist with manly tears sliding down his face. He was referring to his failure of piloting a giant mech. Truly a man's dream.

"Right...." she said with a raised brow at her brother's weirdness.

"By the way, was it really necessary for you to get his arm yourself?" Wave asked as it was usually his job to cut people's arms off.

"I didn't just come for the arm, I also came for this." Amber pulled out what looked to be a data chip. She plugged it in as the screen on the wall lit up, showing the schematics and blueprints for something.

"An infinity pistol?" He recognized the gun.

"Yeah, apparently dad worked together with Vladof once in the past to create the prototype of this gun. However after dad announced his death and Vladof cut off ties with our company and they took all data on this. I just stole it back and killed a few of the researchers that had info on it." She explained with a smirk.

"Was it really necessary? It's not like we don't have ammo regen already for our brand of weapons."

"Yes but the fast firing guns always outpaced the ammo regeneration, which meant that eventually people would have to stop shooting. Even our blasters have to stop shooting to cool down a bit. But now with this data, we can soon start a new line of truly infinitly firing guns." She said grandly with her arms spread out dramatically.

"Well, I guess that's cool." Wave blinked. He understood that it was a good thing, it's just it wouldn't affect him much since he uses shotguns which never fired fast enough to outpace the regen.

"So what now?"

"Well now that the galaxy knows that Aversis Tech is still going strong. I need to help 21 with the business side of things. Which will probably take longer, I'd say a year or two should get us stabilized again." She gave a rough estimate.

"Not gonna do anything with Pandora or the main story? What about Handsome Jack?"

"Little brother, life itself is a story and as far as Pandora or the new Hyperion CEO is concerned, I have the rest of the galaxy to think of." She explained, apparently not really caring much about the plot. "Besides, if my understanding of the timelines are correct. Then Borderlands 2 won't begin until another 2 or 3 years. Of course I can make some preparations to take some advantages with no risk to us. But unless Hyperion is stupid enough to try something on us, I don't plan on wasting time or resources with another corporate war."

"So, what am I supposed to do until then? Should I try to recruit people still?"

"We'll have a system set up for recruiting people in the future so you don't need to concern yourself with it yet, although I don't mind if you think someone would be a good addition. so do whatever you want, until the time comes you can have Gladstone assist you with whatever gear or tech you need. 21 will be busy, but don't forget to help supply her with fluids for me. I'd rather not keep making visits to have my blood taken from me."

"Right.. well I guess I'll just relax for awhile then. Our birthdays are coming up again soon!" Wave said as a reminder. He was born on September 15th while his sister was born on October 26th.

"I think were a bit too old for celebrating b-days." Amber rolled her eyes at his excitement.

"I can't hear you over the idea of me being 16 in a month!" He covered his ears and yelled out as he made his way out the door.

The doors shut themselves, leaving Amber alone with her thoughts. She turned the X's of her eyes over to the corner where a portal opened up. A flash of recognition flashed across her eyes when the man stepped out of it and stood in front of her with a somber, yet resolved expression.

"...Dad?" the blue haired girl asked as her father's expression made her feel slightly distressed.

"Amber." Hessian called out her name with a tone of somber.

"We need to talk."

Not realizing that he had missed his father's appearance, Wave stepped into Gladstone's assigned lab. The sounds of whirring machinery and humming devices was prominent as he strolled his way through the lab.

"Hey Gladstone!" Wave called out as he noticed the man focused on some tech at his desk.

The man didn't seem to hear him as he was currently focused on working as he stared at something through through a microscope pointed towards a glass cube. His hands were making small concise movements with a joystick and interface.

'Wonder what he's working on.' Wave blinked as he took a closer look. Although in the end he gave up trying to see with his eyes and tried to view the light within the glass with his senses.

Since his time in the Abyss, his senses have been attuned to be able to sense energy if he wanted to. Although to him, all magical energy was the same as he didn't have much experience. However he could tell that the energy within the glass cube was a form of raw mana from the Nasuverse.

How did he know this? His sister was a magus so he could feel her building up prana from time to time, his mother didn't always just use her divinity for everything and his father taught his sister. So he was used to this form of magical energy.

After a moment, Gladstone finally lifted his head from the lens and released a breath.

"Oh! Wave, when did you get here?" he asked, noticing one of his bosses in the room.

"Just a minute ago, you looked pretty busy there so apologies if I bothered you."

"Oh it's no bother mate." He waved off and gestured to the glass cube. "Your sister says that if I need to familiarize myself with this type of energy called mana. It's like the stuff of fairy tails you know? Like magic is actually real!" He said with visible excitement.

"Oh, so she showed you huh. I guess you would need to know this stuff if you're working here." Wave nodded as Gladstone needed to have this kind of knowledge.

"Anyway, sorry but what did ya need bruv?"

"Eh, I was just bored and was wondering what you were working on. Got anything interesting lately?"

"Well, I'm not sure about interesting but Dr. Langois and I have been working on a new type of combat robot lately."

"Dr. Langois is back?" Wave asked surprised. He thought the man wanted to lay low until Jack was dealt with.

"Yeah, he saw what Jack did to the Loader bots he designed and wanted to prepare for the future." Gladstone explained as he moved to something in the lab that was covered with a tarp.

"After seeing what happened to the droids when they went against the Vladof's Ursa Corps. We decided to design something that could really give us the edge in the next fight we get into." When Gladstone pulled down the tarp, Wave let out a 'Woah' in his head.

It was revealed to be a large framed robot that stood at about 10 ft. The bot had a large round back that spanned towards the bulky arms. It's head had round halo sticking out from the side of it's head protruding forward.

"It looks a bit bulky. Still cool though." Wave gave his honest opinion.

"It's still in the prototype phase, were unsure of whether to slim it down or keep the bulk. These hands can create digistruct claws and it's capable of digistructing it's own guns, so we it should be able to change weapons on the fly."

"Nice, but what's with the round back? It sorta looks like a beetle." he pointed

"We took some inspiration from your droideka model and the Vladof's Iron Bear unit, applying it here. This bot can retract and shift it's body into a sphere for movement. It's also capable of projecting it's own shield."

"I already love it. What's the name?"

"We haven't thought of one yet to be honest. If you can think of one, were open to suggestions."

"Hm..." Wave took a moment to think with his arms crossed. "I think the beetle schtick is taken already, plus they aren't that cool to begin with. Well rhinoceros beetles are pretty sick but that's besides the point." he muttered

He snapped his fingers "How about Iron Shell? Since we took inspiration from the ursa core." he decided

"I guess you make a good point. Alright Iron Shell it is." the scientist agreed as they named the prototype Arma-droid

Now that they had finished naming the new bot, Wave decided to ask Gladstone for something. "Say Gladstone, are you able to analyze and process a large scale blueprint for me?"

"How large are you talking bruv?" Gladstone raised a brow. Normally digistruct blueprints were small as other corporations didn't have Aversis Tech's specialty in digistruct research.

"Oh, like the size of a building." he responded with a smile

"Like Vladof's war machine?" the scientist blinked.

"Something like that."

Somewhere in an African country, an oversized bipedal Mech stood among the wreckage of dead cyborgs and destroyed buildings.

Two cyborgs stood across from each other as one had a man hoisted upon his shoulder as he stood on a flipped vehicle.

"Hueh, so you're Jack."

"What do you want with the Prime Minister?" the white haired cyborg Jack Raiden asked

"I want him... dead. Nothin personal 'course." the bald cyborg with the bar code on his bald forehead smirked "Africa's just gettin a bit too peaceful."

"What?"

"Business ain't been the same since they shut down SOP." the bald man said without losing his smirk. "A clean break from the war economy." he quoted. "Heh, well some of us liked that economy. How's an honest warmonger supposed to make a living?"

"This is your answer?"

The bald man laughed, unsheathing his blade near the unconscious man's head.

"Don't do it!" Raiden nearly yelled

"Don't worry now, I won't." He smirked while glancing at the man on his shoulder "Not while he's still useful of course."

The two stared each other off for a moment before the bald man jumped on top of a building that wasn't destroyed. "So long." he bid his farewell before gesturing for the giant bipedal mech to stand between him and the white haired cyborg.

However before he left, the two heard something strange in the distance. As if someone was chanting 'Mine.' over and over.

"Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, MINE, MINE MINE MINE!" The chanting got so loud that they turned towards it's direction

*BOOM!* a dark suited figure crashed straight into the mech at sonic speed, knocking it back into the ocean.

"MINE!" Wave's voice

"What the hell!?" Raiden shouted as the other cyborg was just as surprised before deciding to run off anyway.

"THIS IS MINE! GO DO YOUR JOB, I DON'T CARE!" Wave shouted back at the white haired cyborg as Metal Gear Ray punted him through a building.

*ROAR sfx* the bipedal Metal Gear roared despite being a machine.

"NOW WERE TALKING! YOU'RE MINE!" Wave grinned beneath his covered face as he was ready to send Gladstone some blueprints.

And that was how Wave spent his free time away from work.
