Feeling better

Somewhere in a part of downtown Nagazora where the more shady characters frequented, It was a calm evening. The sun was beginning to set as the street lights began flickering on.

"...What the heck are you doing here!?" Kiana yelled at the gray haired teen who was holding up a rectangular package of what seemed to be crack.

In the background there were multiple unconscious men were scattered around the area.

"Isn't it obvious, I'm working." Wave replied completely unphased by the fact that the girl just beat up every other person in the building on her own.

"You don't work."

"Well Not until recently."

"This isn't even an actual job!"

"Silly Kiana, this is some hard work loading these onto a truck on a tight schedule. Not only that, they need to be packed into brick shaped wrapping. Honestly tuna girl, we can't all be crime fighting hobos you know." Wave said with a sigh as if it couldn't be helped.

"I'm not a hobo!" The white haired girl retorted only to look away from the look she was being given.

Wave just gave her a knowing look as if he knew more than he let on.

"...Well I'm not! Besides this isn't a job, you're literally helping these guys with their drug ring!"

"Hey it may be criminal business, but it's still business. Plus they pay me at the end of it, well they would have until you beat up the guy that was supposed to pay me. Wonder if he still has his wallet on him, I'm sure he won't mind me collecting my pay." He questioned out loud. It was a good point, his boss was knocked unconscious in a corner but he hadn't been paid yet.

"Grrraaaahhh!" Kiana just let out a frustrated scream as if she couldn't deal with the situation. "Let's just go, I already called the police." she grumbled before marching off.

Normally she would have immediately attempted to also apprehend or knock him out, but this wasn't the first time this has happened in the past month.

Since Kiana had been introduced to Wave, they obviously didn't get along. However for whatever reason, Wave would go out of his way to purposely get on her nerves whenever he had the chance. She was annoyed by him but she tolerated him since he was friends with Mei.

She had first thought that she would only have to put up with him at school, but then he had begun showing up on her nightly crime fighting.

FOUR WEEKS AGO

At an underground bar where shady characters with criminal histories generally frequented.

It was filled with about 20 people drinking and quietly discussing things. Quiet murmurs filled the room before being abruptly overshadowed by the sound of the door being kicked open.

*BANG* The door opened to reveal a white haired girl with blue eyes.

"Kiana Kaslana, here to shut you down!" She shouted into the room with two pistols up.

The crowd of people just stared at her for a moment.

*Click sfx* the sound of multiple gun clicks filled the air as everyone pulled out their firearms at the girl.

Before she could say a word, a firefight ensued as the bar turned to chaos. Bodies went flying and bullets filled the walls. When it finally ended, the girl was the last one standing with everyone knocked out.

Kiana let out a breath before the door to the kitchen opened. She widened her eyes as Wave stepped out in a suit and tie.

"Sup tuna girl." Wave greeted nonchalantly with a few drinks on a tray.

"Wave!? What are you doing here!?" She pointed at him incredulously.

"Well I work here." He smiled.

Hearing that she attempted to knock him out, but he proceeded to dodge every single move without fighting back. To make it worst he remained smiling as she tried to subdue him.

"Ughh." People began to wake up during the time that the Kaslana wasted with Wave and another firefight ensued with more bullets flying through the air.

At the end of it all, people ended up being knocked out again by kicks and pistol whips as Wave and Kiana were the last ones standing.

*SIREN sfx* the sounds of sirens filled the air as the cops had finally showed up forcing the two to run away.

A similar scene would happen every few nights as Kiana kept encountering Wave in questionable places. While he never purposely antagonized her like at school, he would continue being nonchalant as if he wasn't doing anything wrong which pissed her off even more.

Eventually she stopped wasting time with her attempts to subdue him since he seemed to be capable of dodging pretty much everything.

Within the hallways of Senba High, Wave was casually walking next to Mei with a small smile on his face.

"Why must you antagonize her so much." Mei asked with a tired sigh as the Kaslana had come to her to complain about Wave's constant harrassment.

"Honestly, messing with her just gives me life these days." Wave replied with an actual smile. For once he wasn't leaking out an aura of doom and gloom.

It was true, he had been feeling much better these days at the cost of pretty much driving Kiana insane sometimes. People didn't seem to be as afraid of him as usual and he didn't cause the hallways to become silent with his mere presence.

"H-Hey you bitch." Another student who seemed to be a little put off by Wave's presence walked up and called out to Mei.

"What did you say!?" Kiana suddenly appeared out of nowhere and began shouting at the random student that tried to mess with Mei.

"You alright?" Wave asked with a raised brow at the purple haired girl who hadn't responded

"Honestly it's difficult to feel hurt by their words when they are clearly still afraid of you." Mei blinked. Although the words were generally hurtful, the tone at which they said things to her was always of obvious fear towards Wave.

Since Wave's mood had been better lately, he's noticed that people seemed to have more courage to go up to Mei to harrass her even when she was around him. It had been months since the incident with ME corps yet people were still on about it. It was obvious to Wave that his business partner/friend was being targeted by someone. He sometimes debated whether or not to do something about it but ultimately decided not to as he told himself that he didn't care.

"Don't worry Mei-senpai, I won't let anybody mess with you!" Kiana returned from repelling the random student.

"Oh look, the tuna girl has turned into an attack tuna." Wave commented

"See Mei-senpai! Not only does he take up our alone time, he keeps on hurting my feelings!" She pointed at the gray haired boy while hugging Mei from behind.

"Can't you two just get along for once." Mei facepalmed with a tired sigh.

"With that pervert? Never!"

"Why am I still being referred to as a pervert!?"

"You know why!" The Kaslana yelled with tears in her eyes as they made their way to the roof.

"Mei-senpai the stupid ugly fish eyes won't stop bullying me!" Kiana cried out as Wave continued to smile on his bed with his head rested on his hands.

"Your vocabulary truly astounds me, sometimes I wonder how you ever got in high school." He retorted without actually moving from his bed.

"What did you say fish eyes!?"

"Honestly you two..." Mei felt like she was sighing a lot more often these days.

"Don't bother Mei, sometimes there are people who just aren't meant to get along." He stopped her from suggesting that they should get along.

Mei cupped in chin in response. "I don't know about that, you seem to like having Kiana around."

"...What?" Wave's eyes cracked open from that.

"Hm?" Kiana looked back and forth at the two with invisible question marks around her head.

"Well you've been a lot happier ever since you two began hanging around. You actually smile more often these days and you go out of your way to meet up with Kiana-chan if what she's told me is true." She began listing out in quick succession.

"Raiden, wherever you think this train of thought is going, it's incorrect." Wave slightly narrowed his eyes.

"If anything it sounds like you genuinely like Kiana-chan." she finished.

Wave continued to stare at her in silence with narrowed eyes for a moment before turning around on his bed.

"Pfffft what? Fish eyes likes me? I guess I can't help it if I'm beautiful, but my heart is only for Mei-senpai!" The white haired girl started laughing as if she heard the funniest joke.

"Don't flatter yourself tuna girl, you definitely aren't waifu material." Wave rolled his eyes.

"What was that!?"

"Even Sirin is more waifu than you!"

"Who the hell is that!?" Kiana asked out loud as her eyes flashed yellow for a moment without anyone noticing.

"You'll find out one day!"

"Enough you two! Honestly, I don't like having to hear you two argue all the time." Mei said exasperated as she held her head.

"I told you, sometimes there are people who just can't get along." Wave shrugged.

"I believe you two just need to spend some time doing something positive for once."

"We all know that is never going to happen." he smirked

"Yeah, I'd rather die than do something with him." For once Kiana agreed with him.

"If you two don't at least try, then I won't cook extra bentos anymore." Mei stated with a half lidded stare at the two.

"I mean I'd be okay with spending some time with him!" The Kaslana immediately changed her tune.

"Wait that was never a part of our arrangement!" Wave pointed out as he turned back around to meet her eyes.

"I have altered the deal, pray I don't alter it any further." Raiden Mei narrowed her eyes at him.

"...Did you just go Darth Vader on me?" he asked incredulously

"How...?" I mumbled out as I stared at the architectural disaster before me. It was 4 walls that were defying all logic as they were in a hexagon-like formation. Hexagons are supposed to have six sides!

It just doesn't make any sense, am I really that hopeless when it comes to basic shit like this!? It was supposed to be just four walls to make a square!

Mei had suggested that me and the tuna girl try to rebuild my little shack since I just left all the materials laying around my bed out of laziness. So we silently agreed to split the tasks to avoid having to speak much to each other. Unfortunately I seem to be having difficulties with just getting the walls up.

'Maybe she's having an easier time than me.' I think to myself as I turned around to see the progress the tuna girl's made with the tiled flooring.

I blinked for a moment as I noticed she was crouched on the ground, hugging her knees while mumbling something. The tiles seemed to be down, but it looks a bit off....

"All these squares make a circle... All these squares make a circle..." I started to clearly hear her words once I approached her. Taking a look around, she's right. Some how all these square floor tiles made a circle...

"Oi tuna girl..." I said, bringing her out of her mumbling stupor as her blue orbs moved to meet my red. "Perhaps we should attempt to do this together..." I reluctantly stated, thumbing over to the reality defying walls.

"...Okay." she agreed with similar hesitance.

1 HOUR LATER

"Alright, I think we got this. I don't say this often, but good work." I said honestly. We got the floor tiled, placed the bed in, set the walls in a proper square and now were just placing the roof and we should be good.

"Hmph, it would have been better hearing that from Mei-senpai!" Kiana said with a puff of her chest and a small smile as we lowered the roof.

"Yes yes miss raging lesbian. I get it." I rolled my eyes as I heard her screw in the last screw.

"This actually looks pretty nice." I heard her hum happily as we looked around. There was a tiny window cut out, letting in some light. Gonna need to put a piece of cloth on that or something.

"Yeah, I just gotta go out and get the door handles *BANG* sfx" I began saying before promptly hitting my face on the wooden layered wall.

I stared stupefied at the place where the door was supposed to be for a moment. Not truly registering the situation yet, I pushed the wall one more time to confirm my suspicions only to be met with solid wall again.

"..." I silently and slowly turned around, setting my gaze on the white haired girl with my hands clasped in front of me as she continued to look around at our work.

"Kiana..." I actually called her out by her name this time causing her to turn her attention to me.

"What?" She asked confused at my demeanor.

"Where's the door hole?" I asked the big question, gesturing towards the wall with my head.

"It goes right there, see I drew it with a magic marker." She pointed towards the crudely drawn door on the wall.

"You were supposed to cut it out with the power saw." I stated with absolute calm in my tone.

"I will!" she declared

"Oh really!?"

"Yes!" She responded with some exasperation.

"So go get the power saw." I said with a half lidded stare

"Okay I will." She hmphed before moving to get the power saw.

*BANG sfx* only to be immediately stopped as she faceplanted the wall. It took a moment for realization to set in as she placed her palms on the wall before turning around.

"I see the problem..."

"OH DO YA!?"

And that was how we both found ourselves trapped inside a shack with one bed.
