Chapter 37: The Holding Cell

VAZAR

I paced around the compact 3 by 6 cell that the guards had thrust me into. I didn’t know where they had taken Hannah. All chaos broke lose when she projected fire from her hands. I didn’t even know that power existed within the jinn kind. Had things evolved so rapidly in the last 100 years of my incarceration that I was unaware such power was accessible?

Hannah’s ability shocked us all, her included. None of us saw that one coming. As soon as she closed her palms, the guards jumped her and the other guards restrained me. They took Hannah away first, and then dragged me away kicking and screaming. I looked down at my ankle. They had fitted me with a device that stopped any attempts at materializing, so I was trapped in the space they had confined me in.

I lost all sense of time and didn’t know how long I paced until I heard her.

VAZAR? WHERE ARE YOU?

HANNAH? HANNAH? I’M HERE! WHERE ARE YOU? I answered.
