Chapter 44: The Revenge

I huddled on the wooden cold bench in the black clutches of the night. My knees were tucked under my chin and my arms were wrapped tightly around my legs. I swallowed hard and waited for inspiration to hit me. Once I had cleared all the garden fences, I found myself out in the street at the top of my road. The air was silent, signaling the late hour of the night. I realized I had no money, no food and no jacket to keep me warm. In the rush of escaping my house, I hadn’t given much thought to these things. With no phone, I couldn’t call Fatima for help either. With nothing else to do, I wandered the streets until I reached the local park. It was locked tight for the day. Hoisting myself over the main gate, I entered the park and found a bench to rest on. I had to gather my thoughts and formulate a plan to get back to Vazar.
