Somewhere in an alternate timeline, number of good detectives and other kind of police officer started declining and the company that studies how society work offer a solution for it "use smart kids as replacement till we start getting good detectives" and that is how the Nash became a prodigal detective but despite saving lives he himself actually has a temptation for death.
