All it takes

'Its only ever been about me' Errit had the idea in his head, his play was so easily read but pulling it off was the hard part.

He brought Jay outside of his Garden and back inside of the Inn. It was noisy outside. Errit asked the innkeeper what was going on.

"Its almost Promise Day, they are making preparations for the Capital." The Innkeeper pumped his hands in excitement. "Its almost time for the celebrations, everything starts next week, its a week long festival!" He danced around like he was about to make a butt load of contribution points.

"Oh? So soon? Kink, we should go when it happens." Jay had something to say as he walked down the stairs. Errit somewhat agreed but didn't say anything.

The streets were filled with stalls, people were selling items again but this time most of the items were already crafted. they didn't bother hiding their activities or the merchandise.

Errit browsed a few tables at the beginning but stopped for nothing. He wanted to see the auras closely, wearing the mask, people generally didn't interrupt him as he went about.

Errit thanks the Goddess of the Waters for having one her followers bless his adventures with the Hunters Mask. A strange glowing flash appeared around him while he was in the middle of a crowd, it was blue like the moonflower pool. It was gone in an instant, the people around were given some pause but went right back to what they were doing.

Pumping his hands a bit, Errit could feel the change in his grip. The Chains whirled around his arms like they wanted to come out. He didn't want to use them in the crowd, so he pulled Jay along and outside of the City Walls. They found a secluded spot and Errit told Jay to collect as many herbs as he could find.

"What?" Jay didn't understand, he stood there perplexed and watched.

Errit played with the chains for a second, then sank them into the soil, then he sank his fingers into it as well. Pouring energy into the ground, he could feel the life around him. There was a spark, a strange object below. Errit used the chains to pull it out and store it away before continuing. The Soil took his energy in, every last drop. Roots and Herbs began to displace the soil, trees sprang from the ground, rocks were brought to the surface of the ground and space to walk was almost taken away entirely.

Jay kept waving his hands furiously, storing away any plant that showed up that was loose. It was too good to be true, he dared not miss a single beet, grass or twig of importance. "I don't understand how you are doing this, but this is a game changer." He jumped out of the way, a Geliren Tongue had sprung out of the ground in front of him. They were well known for being hallucinogenic. He put it away immediately and hoped for the best.

"Yup, its a mystery, but its awesome right?" Errit pulled the chains out of the ground and joined in the mad grab for the herbs and plants that had grown. With so many people around in the City, the energies in the area were in a constant state of fluctuation, it was unlikely they would be discovered until nightfall. A lot of the lodestone that had been surfacing were Glowstone and Luminite.

"Get the stones too." Jay already knew, he had been gathering everything that surfaced. He even considered gathering some of the soil for analysis. "This is frightening, I'm afraid to ask what your end goal is if gathering materials is this is easy for you. Really, what do you want to do with all of this?" His hands worked fast, his storage ring was quickly filling.

"I want to gather seeds, I intend to grow everything in the pocket dimension. It responds well to my energy and keeps expanding when I add more plants. We should check the Auction House for seeds, do you know of a nursery or place where people raise herbs?" Errit's question was a good one.

Jay finished collecting, they were having to go too far between herbs. Between the two of them they had collected more than 600 grasses 200 shrubs 400 bushes and over a thousand tiny plants. More than 2200 plants in total, they returned to the key dimension.

There were more fruits laying under the Treants. Errit walked up and fed some energy directly into the bigger tree as a reward. Then, both he and Jay walked to the back of the new field. Unloading the contents of the storage rings in rows, they started to plant everything. When they came across a rock, they just left it where it was. Most of the rocks they had picked up would constantly be under a charging process because of the ever present light in the pocket dimension.

the Auras of the plants in the area took a sharp change when a particular flower came out.

It was vivid and white. Its petals dripped with a golden fluid. When the fluid was about to fall, Errit was quick to act and caught it in a bottle. There was more to come, he stopped what he was doing and kept collecting the fluid. When it stopped making the golden ooze, he had three and half ounces of it. Errit settled the plant into the soil and gave it plenty of space. Underneath its bloom, he set a large bowl just in case it dripped again while he was away.

They finished laying out the plants in the soil of the new field. Hours had passed, even with the help of the chains to till the soil, they still had more than twenty-two hundred plants to plant. Jay had never been in a medicinal field. 'This is what it looks like, I'm sure.' Jay smiled at the work he had just done. There were so many herbs to make potions from, a lot of them he'd have to research to find out or get an appraiser. "Hey, do you know any good appraisers?" Jay asked.

Errit fell over, stood up, rubbed his ass then his head. Looking up again at Jay he nodded and pointed directly at himself with a grin.

Jay laughed but he stopped the moment he saw Errit repeat the actions that caused the growth outside of the City.

The Chains sunk into the soil near the newly planted herbs, Errit fed the energy into the soil, the 2200 plants had turned into almost 4000 in an instant, thickening, ripening, aging to perfection. More seeds appeared, some flowers dropped the seeds, made more flowers and kept continuing the process. small clusters of grasses became big swats and the bushes turned to trees.

Jay's jaw dropped, he saw the biggest Kreswelt Tree he'd ever seen burst from the soil and stretch out into the air. When its leaves opened, a small glittering dust sprinkled down below its branches and small changes started to appear. tens, then hundreds, then thousands and tens of thousands of tiny little creatures. Some like sticks, others like picks, thorns. they grew legs, and walked around like spider spores.

Errit saw them and instantly knew what they were. He worried for a moment but realized that the plants were benefiting from the interaction. The tiny creatures were actually cleaning up old debris and shifting everything slightly, plants started to move away from each other and rearrange.

"Kreswelt Trees are obsessive Treants. Everything has to be just perfect around them or they can't enjoy the sun above." Jay shook his head in amazement. "No one would believe this." He picked up one of the tiny creatures for a moment to look at it, but it jumped away and went to rejoin the others as the moved the grasses around into clusters, the herbs into lines and the trees to the side.

"I'm not griping. I think Lisetya will have a field day, literally." He rubbed at her black mass and watched as another Kreswelt Tree sprang up nearby. It was too close to another one of its kind, picked up its roots and moved to a better location. It started with the plants nearby, just as the first.

Three hours later while Errit was resting inside after eating, he went outside and saw 36 Kreswelt Trees, all organizing his fields. He walked up to each of them and fed them some of his energy directly. 'What a fortunate find. Its almost too good to be true.'

Collecting some of the grass hulls and stalks was a constant job. Errit found that the leaving the grasses to grow longer didn't make them grow less. He could chop them off everyday, so long as the roots survived, the grass would grow. Jay took the time to clear cut the entire batch once during Errit's feeding session, the grasses grew back pretty quickly even when he wasn't feeding them directly.

"This is such a cheat." Jay said with the biggest smile on his face. "You shouldn't tell anyone about this, ever.. If I hadn't been told, I wouldn't have told me. Thanks for this. But don't get all emotional. I don't want 2000CP a day. I want 25% of everything we're going to make, from now on. You'll have my complete devotion to this herb factory."

Errit grinned from ear to ear. 25% was a large fee, considering that he didn't have to nearly as much work, 25% was a bargain.
