Third Man

Jay stared quietly at the Tabulator, not believing a word of what he had just heard. "Fuck you, don't fuck with me." 'Che' Jay swallowed his drink and slammed his hand on the Tabulator. "Don't screw with me, you're not screwing with me, are you? Fuck.. I mean.. Thanks.. thank you.. fuck.. really?" His mind was all over the place, his head spun, he ordered another drink. "This is more than yours. Are you really okay with that?"

"Yup, and that was just the start of phase one, phase two will be much more interesting." Errit's plan was going swimmingly.

"You missed it, they had an Inquisitor show up looking for a problem. The Chief was not happy, I thought, for sure, for sure for sure that the Inquisitor would lose his cool and start arresting the people outside but your plan.. I can't believe it's working." Jay rang his hands through his hair like he was nervous and surprised. He stored away the tabulator and said, "What's next? You've kept the bigger picture hidden from me. How long till you tell me the whole plan?"

Errit drank his drink. In between sips, he thought 'Ah, should I just tell him?' "Not here." Errit settled the bar tab and left with Jay. "Lets get to the Garden first."

Making their way to the Inn was simple, they only had the few drinks. Someone was watching them closely from a distance, they were not doing a good job of hiding themselves. Errit looked back with the mask's extrasensory vision and saw the aura of his pursuer. 'Oh.. its him.'

Errit Stopped. Jay Stopped. The Figure Stopped. Kink spoke, "Koesr, I heard your name once while I was at the depository earlier. Come on out, no harm will come to you."

Jay looked at Kink, 'what are you doing?' he wanted to speak but was petrified, 'being followed by city officials now?'

"Kink." He stepped out of the shadows. It was Koesr after all, he was dressed in dark clothing but that was the most tactically sound part of his plan. When he approached Kink for the first time, Kink's mask left him with a strange impression. Wincing, his reaction was one that Errit was very use to by then.

"Not here. Come along." Kink grabbed onto Koesr and Jay. "The Inn's just over here." No one was standing around inside, the innkeeper left the side door open for guests at night. It was an average evening, nothing huge was happening for a few more days.

'A little cautious is he?' Koesr was getting curious, why such the secrecy. Inside the room at the Inn, Jay sat on the bed for the first time. Koesr looked at Jay while he sat and bounced on it a little, "Could you please tell me what is going on? That stunt earlier, it was a stunt right?"

Kink flipped over his hand and produced a plate with some fruit slices. It was nothing big for Errit or Jay but when Koesr saw it, he immediately started to freak out watching them eat the fruit so casually. Kink offered him a slice, when he wouldn't take it, Kink pulled out a completely new one with its seed removed and passed it over. "Sorry, I like slicing mine up. They taste so much better."

Koesr's breathing became faster when he saw the new plate of fruit sitting in front of him. He took one look at the plate and said, "Okay. Whatever it is, I'm in. You really pissed off the Chief earlier, he tried to have you arrested or banned. It was really funny, I've never in my life had anyone.." Koesr was running his mouth, so Kink picked up a fruit slice from the tray and stuffed it into Koesr's mouth slightly. There was a curious effect, he felt stronger, more alert and focused. He didn't dare open his mouth as he chewed, the taste was exquisite.

"Listen." Kink took a breath, calming himself. "We are going to topple everything." He stuffed a slice of fruit into his mouth and swallowed it whole. "Tomorrow, I won't be there at all. But I can bet you that by the end of the day, my name will be on the lips of nearly every person in the Capital." 'This could get him killed, I should warn him.' He thought for a second and then explained. "What I'm doing is unprecedented, like you've said. You've never in you're whole life had someone do that. It won't take long for them to adapt, or change the rules or whatever like most governments do, so we'll have to act fast. There is no government in existence that would allow what I'm proposing to be conducted, they could even try to claim criminals of us all. Are you really willing to risk that?" Errit put his feelers out there, he needed to know if he could truly trust the new guy.

"....I saw how much CP you earned from just that one act, you make sure I get a score like that by the end of this and I'm all in. Just don't make me kill people, Murder gets you a public execution in the Capital." Koesr rubbed the sides of his head, stood up and said it again. "I'm in."

Kink laughed at Koesr's reactions and said, "Then maybe you should meet the rest of the Team." Producing the Key, Holding it, he grabbed onto both of them and entered the Garden Dimension.

Koesr's first reaction was to scream out 'Holy Shit' when his eyes adjusted. Errit led him to the ship, they sat inside and he introduced Lisetya. Listening to what his new boss had to say, he sat down on the chair. It was very comfortable, it seemed made from non-magically conductive material. 'This is a Chair from Earth isn't it?' He bounced in it a bit, enjoying the feel.

'Kids' Errit smiled at the developments and started to go over tomorrow's plan.

"When everything is over, Koesr, you really only have this one job." Kink passed over another slice of fruit, then looked over to Lisetya. He produced some liquefied essence for her, passed it over and watched it disappear. Before, he was worried about its cost but now he could draw her a bath of the stuff if he wanted.

She produced another stack of papers and a book, her findings on a few of the minerals in the soil. Errit picked it up and wanted to dive right in, he stopped himself. "I didn't ask this, but .. what's so special about the Inquisitor?"

"The inquisitor can lay a single minded judgement on a situation and has the full backing of the Empire. They are judge, jury and executioner if needed. Inquisitors settle disputes, petty arguments are seen as contempt, which is also a crime when directed at government maliciously. Your plan.. it easily falls under such a category, there will be trouble." Koesr played with his chin for a moment, then continued. "But, the worst they would do, at least the worst they could do in such a situation, would be to expel us from the City, maybe jail us for a time. Contribution points can't be tracked or duplicated so as long as they didn't discover the tabulators, we could, in theory get away with whatever we're doing."

"Its not about making contribution points, but that's good to hear." Errit fingered through the book and saw some of the notes, they were really good. He stroked Lisetya's mass a bit and then brought everyone out to the fields, there was a lot of work to be done.

Sinking his chains and fingers into the soil, the plants started to multiply and grow substantially. Errit could feel his power's growing, the Garden Dimension was producing energy faster than it could consume it. It grew in size every day.
