Take it All

Pellos would have been proud, the Chaos surrounding the Depository the day before had left a lot of people with sour faces. They showed up early, and there was already a line. When the doors opened, there was an immediate commotion. As the first few people in line passed into the depository appraisal rooms, there were hundreds of writs in the hands of each of them. Kink was no where to be seen, but his name was on every single piece of paper associated with materials.

The depository had the right to refuse items, especially if they had them in great supply. However, there were never too many of each, it was something they couldn't expect or turn away.

Dozens of species, most of which were harder to locate and propagate, had been brought to their doorsteps. Each was a prize winning specimen in their own categories, it was difficult to say no to a single one of the herbs or other items. The Potions and Metals were top quality, unrefined metals were ideal for the blacksmiths and training mages.

There were tens of people standing in line at the front with hundreds of writs, tamping their feet, driving the people behind them into a frenzy. "This is such Bullshit! This happened yesterday! Does the Kingdom not want our business anymore? I mean what the hell, we've only spent more than a day waiting just to bring these things to you. Our families need food, rent needs to be paid.." There usually wasn't rent to pay, but the woman said it anyway.

Errit watched from a nearby rooftop, he wore the blackout hat and hid his appearance. "Okay Jay, time to make your move."

Jay walked up and started talking to each person in line and worked his way to the back. "Kinky Appraisal and Depository, 100% free today to the first 100 customers and we will buy all your materials and herbs for a competitive rate." He strolled through the lines, each time he repeated it someone looked ready to leave. It wasn't until he had repeated himself 15 times that people were leaving in droves.

Jay realized that he didn't give the location, but maybe that was for the best. If they went around looking for Kinky Appraisal all over town, their notoriety would be bolstered significantly. 'He's fucking devious..' returning to the front of the line and repeating it, there was a much stronger reaction on his second pass. People were basically abandoning hope of being seen at the Depositor's office for the rest of the day.

Kinky Appraisal was near the main square, they had a walkway that led down to their storefront but it wasn't on the main road. A Sign, a simple one stood in the middle of the street. It had an arrow and the words, "Kinky Appraisal and Depository <====|[]|"

A very attractive woman from the bar down the street was hired to work the door, she directed people in as best she could. Standing next to Errit was Lisetya's mass, she swirled, there was a bright pink ribbon floating around her like a collar. Everything looked like it was on the up and up, Errit kept out the tabulator and didn't care about the writs, he started buying whatever people had the moment he had an appropriate price.

Lisetya had gone over the prices herself repeatedly over the five week planning period. Every time they went to the Auction House, she saw the rates the items were sold for. She took into account making profit and came up with an appropriate adjustment for the payout.

Errit paid extra for new herbs or rarer herbs, his idea was to get the public to do the gathering for him. He couldn't let the City Depository and Auction House have the monopoly on being first in line for materials, breaking it was his first goal. Getting people to turn away was just a portion of phase one.

"Yes. These are quite common, I can only give you 100CP." It was more than the customer would have gotten for them at the depository but it was a species that Errit didn't have growing. Kink took the gremlin feet, ears and arms. They were a source of fluid for regeneration potions, though, one of the side effects from consuming too much gremlin was that you started to turn very gremlin-like in appearances at first, then.. well.. then you become one if you haven't stopped.

Gremlins were not horrible creatures, but they were eccentric and unable to contain their everlasting curiosity. It usually led to explosions, they would lose arms and legs, sometimes ears, and then immediately grow them back and continue.

Kobuseria, a Gremlin Mechanic was notorious for doing bizarre things. She was tolerated because she worked with the Emperor, but loose goblins were usually shoved into their own micro-realms for the safety of others. There, explosions could take place and it was no big deal. Except for the time and materials, the gremlins would just keep growing back whatever they lost.

The only way to destroy a Gremlin without destroying its core, was to suffocate them or throw them into the void.

Kink was learning the value of Alchemy Ingredients, the writs and identifying things. Increasing his knowledge base was pleasant and it made him feel accomplished, however, eventually he would have to move on to higher ends.

"3000CP each, we'll also buy whatever herbs and materials you have on you that aren't attached to Writs." Jay was doing his thing when the hostess came inside for a moment and yelled into the shop.

"Kink, you need to change the sign." her voice was sharp like an angry lover.

"Yeah, I'm on it." Errit drew a small example and had Lisetya make a much larger version. She wrote it on a sheet like a battalion flag. "BUYING ALL RARE MATERIALS, EVEN WITHOUT WRIT, TODAY ONLY"

Soon, the line was swarming the shop. Kinky Appraisal and Depository was officially slammed.

Things went a lot faster when Lisetya just started writing down the price to transfer for each bid. She started acting like a calculator and printer. Her transformation was still underway but she kept gaining mass, the more mass she had, the more things she could transform into and the more intelligence she seemed to possess.

The first few of the people in line came up to the shop and turned in the tabulators, transferring the funds over to Errit. He paid them well in excess, 10000CP each for the days work. Before he left, Kink told him to come back for more work tomorrow. There was going to be chaos, and he needed hands.

The herbs were stored away throughout the day, come closing time, the few hundred thousand CP he paid out to the people who took up the lines at the Depository were quickly returned to Kinky Appraisal. Hundreds of Millions made its way into his tabulator, he spent 50 million on herbs that would have otherwise been taken by the Depository. He profited. Errit covered his mouth and spun in his chair while thinking it over. 'holy shit, this is totally doable.'

Closing up shop, they took down the sign in the square and entered the Garden Dimension.

Thousands of Herbs and minerals were spread out under the Kreswelt Trees, they started moving them around. The Minerals were mostly left where they laid, but as the fields expanded, they were left in the open. During the five week period, the 32 giant Kreswelt Trees in the grove had multiplied to 534.

The number of seeds they had in their collection was intense, Jay walked behind Errit and just planted them in any place that was clear of another plant. they spent two whole hours scrambling, shoving seeds into the soil, they scattered them as fast as they could at the end. Each of them had gotten sick of spreading them.

Errit sank his fingers and chains into the soil and noticed a difference. There was a lot more space than the day before. Some grasses were giving off a spacial aura, they were phasing, releasing their aura into the garden dimension, inundating it.

A Sweet smell, it lingered in the atmosphere.

Plants sprang out, some of them Errit had never seen in books, Jay gasped when a Viper vine appeared. Thorns that dripped with poison grew at astounding rates. Once they got to a mature size, Errit pulled it and stored it away, he didn't need a massive amount of thorns loose in the dimension.

The Kreswelt grove was shifting the plants and their roots like usual, Lisetya wrote a 'feed me' sign and jumped in front of Errit. He smiled and pulled out a bowl of essence. Watching her drink an entire liter each day was gut wrenching but she was growing very fast and integral to his plans.
