Chapter 11: Resignation

It's been almost three days since I discovered that truth between Andrew and Michelle.

After all, it wasn't a big deal for me. But I couldn't understand myself why it was so hard to accept. That they cheated on me.

Michelle has been trying to talk to me for three days to explain ... so has Andrew but I'm not ready yet. I'm afraid there's more to it than that I'll find out why they did that. I know they have their reasons. But still thinking about the possible reason, I'm having a hard time.

That night I just locked myself in the room. I knew it was supposed to be Michelle and I's room but I ignored it. I didn't want to talk to or see them so I did that.

The next morning, when I knew it was time for our flight back to Manila, I just went out there. I didn't greet them or even talk to them.

Even Gab was wondering too but he did nothing.

When we arrived in Manila, the next morning I immediately sent a resignation letter to their office. Maybe they already know my reason so they haven't asked yet.

Now I am still in my room. I haven't opened the ones I brought home because I haven't been in the mood for the past three days.

I looked at our wall clock. It's nine-thirty in the morning, just a few minutes and Sunny is on her way home. I got up and decided to fix myself.

After I washed and got dressed, I went downstairs to cook. After thirty minutes, I was able to prepare Sunny and Grace's snacks. I cooked pasta for them.

"Momma!" I smiled when I heard my daughter's voice.

"Hi baby! Momma cooked spaghetti."

"Wow! It looks delicious momma! Can't wait to taste it." She says laughing.

"Yeah. But before that ... get dressed first!" I laughed and started tickling her because she seemed to have forgotten she had to take off her uniform first before she could eat.

"Wah! Momma stop it! Ahhh"

"Let's go Sunny, let's go up quickly so you can get dressed." Grace told her. She quickly joined it. I just laughed.

Right now my mind is wondering what exactly I should do. Should I listen to Andrew and Michelle's explanation? Or should I just let go and live peacefully with my daughter?

But if I do that, what about Sunny? She is starting to ask about her Daddy. I know that I will not be able to hide that truth from Andrew and my daughter for the rest of my life. But—how can I do it? Why does it seem so hard to do that?

"Spaghetti time momma!" Suddenly I stopped thinking when I heard Sunny coming down.

"Spaghetti time!" I put a moderate amount of spaghetti on her plate and I also mixed pineapple juice for her.

"Momma its delicious!" I smiled because of that.

"My daughter is really thoughtful, it seems like everything momma does is best for you."

"Of course! Because you're the best momma ever!" She still raised both her hands while saying that. She's so cute.

"Really? You're not just kidding momma?"

"Of course! Why would I fool you? You're so good momma!" She smiled sweetly. I couldn't stop myself from squeezing her nose.

She just snorted because of what I did. She's the little version of Andrew. Her eyes ... it's dark blue, like her Daddy's eyes. She only got the color of my hair ... it's dark brown. Then all the others with Andrew. It's just unfair because I carried her nine months in my womb and then she can only get the color of my hair from me? Hmp!

"And because of that, momma has something to give you!" I said with a smile after I remembered the gifts I had given her that were still inside the suitcase.

"What's it momma?" She asked excitedly.

"Don't you always like twinning our outfit?" She nodded in succession.

"So, okay, momma made three pairs of clothes for us!"

"Wow really momma? I'm excited to see it already! Yehey!" She suddenly stopped eating and approached me ... of course nothing new, she just gave me a couple  kiss on the cheek and a very tight hug.

"How about Ate Grace?" She asked.

"Of course there's also for Grace. She's the one who took care of you and watched over you." Grace just kept smiling.

"Momma ..." I stopped using my cellphone when Sunny suddenly spoke again.

"Yes baby?"

"Why did you stop going to work? Is there something wrong with your work? Or are you still tired?" I couldn't immediately answer Sunny's question.

How can I say;

Because baby, your Daddy is my Boss and momma found out something. Because momma was angry so she agreed, she resigned.

The shallowness of my reason. But it doesn't matter how superficial it is. I just don't want to see him anymore. He fooled me. He hurt me!

But wait, why am I doing this? I mean ... why am I making an impact? It looks like I'm the one who's affected? Why did I resign from my job when my personal issue had nothing to do with it? God Sydney! What went into my brain? I just worsen my situation argh!

"Baby, momma has just resigned..." I said softly.

"But, why?"

"Uhm, because ..."

"Baby don't you have homework? The best thing is, consume your foods first then after we do your homework."

"Yes, of course. All right, Grace." I smiled at Grace for what she did. She's always saving me when it comes to situation like this. When Sunny finished eating, her sister Grace accompanied her to the living room to do her homework.

"Ma'am— I'm not interfering, am I? But why did you resign?" I turned to Grace. She looks worried while asking me.

"Because of my past." I fail to say. She covered her mouth with one of her hands.

"Oh my God really, ma'am? You mean you met Sunny's dad again?" I nodded at her.

"When are you going to tell her?"

"I don't know." I said confused.

"Ma'am, if I'm with you ... while it's not too late, admit the truth. One more thing, Sunny is almost asking questions about her Dad."

I think about what Grace said. Shall I really told Sunny about her Dad?

But what if he takes Sunny from me? What if his family is the reason why Andrew and Michelle had to pretend to be fiancee?

What if what happened then will happened again?

What if this time they take my daughter away from me? No! I can't handle that!
