He Doesn't Remember Me

Sean's mother's eyes welled up with tears as her husband grabbed a hold of both her shoulders. She looked down as she covered her mouth with the handkerchief she was holding with the news that they heard. Feline was so astonished by what she had heard and looked the other way. Louie and Sierra both opened their mouths widely.

Friya was reading the meeting minutes that happened and placed the clipboard on the table once again. The intern bowed down her head towards her and she stood up from her seat. She smiled, pretending to lift up the mood, as she said, "You did well. Thank you for proposing this another concept, it will be a hit towards our morning radio show. You did well, Jia!"

Jia was wearing a long-sleeved polo and a pencil-cut skirt as she looked up at the director. She was intimidated by Friya, one of the best radio show directors, and she was overwhelmed when she heard it from her. Jia smiled as sweet as she could and Friya nodded at the door.

"You can go home now, it's lunchtime. And our radio show is only scheduled in the morning, so we can do a rest day off," Friya said as the room was now empty. She dismissed the DJs and the producers so that she could also go home early as possible. Jia opened her mouth slightly and she raised her hand as she said that she wanted to stay beside the director.

"I have to go somewhere, I will just fix a little right here in the office so I can head out early too. So, for now, you can chill," Friya smiled as she picked up Jia's bag from the seat earlier and gave it to her. Friya nodded at her as Jia smiled widely towards her and slung the bag over her shoulders. She walked outside of the office as Friya lose her balance. She was now alone, she can now break through the dawns.

She sat down on her chair as she shivered a little and she couldn't contain the coldness inside the office. She picked up her bag as her anxiousness was still on the edge. She knew that Sean was now awake, but why can't she drag her feet towards the hospital?

She knuckled her fists as she organized the meeting minutes first before opening the clutch of her bag. She bit her lip as she clasped her cell phone from inside of the bag. She pressed some buttons on her cell phone but when she was going to hit the call, she received a call from Louie.

Feline was the one who volunteered to go inside Sean's room. Louie walked towards the other side of the hallways and put his cell phone by his ear. He heard the ring of the call on the other end of the line as Friya hesitated to answer. She knew that it was because of what happened to Sean.

Friya swiped the answer button as she picked up her bag and walked outside of the office. She closed the door gently as Louie spoke up on the other end of the line.

Louie said, "Friya, thank God, you answered immediately."

Friya was still silent as she walked on the hallways while taking turns bowing her head down. Friya's poker face came back as she asked, "What is it?"

Louie huffed some air as he pursed his lips and his heart was beating louder than usual. He doesn't know how to say it to her, but it will be better to just be straight to the point. Louie looked at the walls first as he composed himself and didn't want to deliver the bad news to her.

Friya waited for Louie's voice to come up as she walked outside of the TSV Studios. She stopped at the gut line of the road as the wind gusted louder. It's still noon, but the clouds had been gloomier than earlier. She huffed some air as she remembered the times she always walked out together with Sean. Not the fact that they were working in the same studios, but Sean had always devoted himself to wait for Friya for her to be done at work.

Louie breathed and puffed his cheeks slowly as he said, "I need to say something to you, Friya, but I think it will not be as good as it is."

Friya pursed her lips as she knew that it would be associated with Sean. It's always like that. Friya walked towards the steep steps of the ramp on the way to the parking lot. She swallowed as Louie looked back and saw that Sean's parents were coming inside the room.

Louie hissed as he mumbled, "Sean is..."

Friya stopped at the side of her car as she furrowed her eyebrows and didn't get the hesitation in his tone. She opened the car door as Louie bit his lip and decided not to say it on the phone. He smiled after a second that made Friya stunned at her place and raised her eyebrows.

She climbed inside in the car and asked, "What's wrong with you? You sounded so tense earlier, and you just smirked at me like that? Just drop it, Louie."

Friya found her keys inside her jeans and inserted them into the socket. She placed the cell phone on the holder as she leaned her back again while Louie was nodding.

"I need to say it to you personally, would you like to meet me by the coffee shop around the farther corner of San Miguel's Hospital?" Louie asked as Friya quivered her lip and tilted her head to one side. She sensed that Louie got something bad to say, and she knew the worst-case scenarios.

She huffed as she stepped on the gas pedal and hanged up the line without answering back. Louie was not surprised by what Friya did, and he just turned the corner, not wanting to go inside without saying it to Friya first. He shook his head while walking rapidly towards the glass doors.

"How could Sean be in this state?" Louie asked about the odds of him getting amnesia on a traumatic injury. It was somehow coincidental for him, but he knew that it just happened for a reason. Louie passed a whole lot of cars on the parking lot and stopped on his own. He climbed inside, wore his seatbelt, insert the key, and swiveled in the corner.

After about several minutes had passed, Friya reached the coffee shop that Louie was talking about. She headed straight towards the glowing and radiant shop on the highway as she smiled towards the waitress, who walked past her. She sat down by the window, with the yellow light above her, and the wooden table had been scrubbed clean. The waiter asked if he will order some coffee but she just said that she was waiting for someone.

She glanced at the white Christmas lights that were hanging at the tops of the ceilings and how they looked glamorous. She sat down and crossed her arms over her chest as she looked out of the window. She saw a car parking in front and she knew that it was Louie.

Louie went down of the car rapidly as she clasped his keys in his hand. He made his way inside and he huffed some air as he searched for Friya inside. Louie caught her on the far corner of the shop. Friya pursed her lips as she swallowed and Louie took a seat down across from her.

"So, what are you going to say to me earlier?" Friya asked him politely. She knew that it was really urgent, and by the way, Louie's face was troubled, she knew that it was bad.

"Sean gained consciousness earlier, and... we were surprised about what happened," Louie started as he shook his head as he could not believe what he just heard. Friya's heart was beating abnormally, and she knew that she got to be strong on what she will be hearing from him.

"I don't know if I have the right to say this to you, but Friya...," Louie cut him off again as he closed his eyes and she was looking at him with puzzled eyes. Louie clicked his tongue and opened his mouth slightly. He knuckled his fists on the table as he huffed for some air again.

"Just say it, Louie! Don't be so mysterious!" Friya raised her voice a little as she felt that her heart might tear itself apart.

"Sean... Sean...," Louie breathed out first before swallowing. Friya's eyes were searching and she knew that she had to ready herself.

"Sean attained a post-traumatic amnesia from the traumatic accident one week ago," Louie finally said that made Friya froze in her place with her eyes blank. The confusion in her face turned into a doubting one.

The colors drained from her face as she was stunned, unable to move. She pursed her lips as she was catching her breath and finally furrow her eyebrows. She was looking at Louie with baffled eyes as the tears fell down from her eyelids.

"What... what did you... what did you just say?" Friya whispered uncontrollably as she was now tearing up. Louie looked at the window first as he closed his eyes. He didn't want to repeat it as Friya bit her lip. Friya picked up her bag hastily, stood up from her seat swiftly. Louie was astonished by what she did.

"Friya! Friya!" Louie called out to her as she made out of the coffee shop.

Friya wiped her nose as she thought that she needed to go to Sean right away.
