Jealousy

She couldn't think of anything but that number one. Was she hearing it right? Her radio show must have gone to recognition after a while.

Louie chuckled. He pointed out, "That's why I brought some coffee. I know you would freeze in your place once you heard it."

Friya chortled at that thought and gripped the cup. She opened it up, sipped, and felt the warmth at her throat. Louie smiled, showing his front teeth, and congratulated. Friya looked down, her flustered cheeks blushed.

"You know, I always listen to your DJ's voice. She can deliver those lines with emotions. I could feel it every time I'm on a lunch break," Louie pointed out. Friya beamed and couldn't answer back. She's astonished to remind herself what happened.

"I thought I might end it soon. But... everyone will be furious at me if I refresh it with another segment," Friya reminded. She thought of it earlier, but she doesn't know the show she produces has millions of supporters.

"Your rate will go up, Friya. Just continue the Dear Love. I am sure your radio show will reach the international audience," he remarked. Louie's the one who assisted with dramas, along with Sean. They have worked on the same field, while Friya was on the radio shows. The two men in his life brought colors to the television.

"By the way, where is Sean? It's past 8pm. He should be home now," Louie uttered as he looked everywhere. Friya shook her head, as she didn't know what to say. Sean's slacking off these past few days. He only goes home when it's time for bed.

"He said he's on the way home. I don't know, he's stuck in traffic, for sure. After all, it's the rush hour," Friya consoled herself. She should set aside those disturbing thoughts. If she doesn't want to get their relationship ruined, she should trust her partner no matter what. Besides, the 10 years was a long time. They shouldn't waste those memories together.

...

Sean heard a man's voice inside the house. It resonated outside just when Sean climbed out of his car. He locked the doors first before putting the keys inside his coat. He gripped his briefcase as he turned his head to the windows.

The curtains flailed outside, revealing someone's face. He glimpsed over there before the curtains swept back inside the windows. Sean's eyes caught Louie's smile. What is he doing here?

It's nighttime. He should head home now if he dropped by for dinner. Sean walked a few steps to the welcome mat. He heard Friya and Louie's conversation about his girlfriend's radio show. Sean froze, his hand in midair as he bit his lip.

Sean should be the one congratulating her first. But he knows nothing. Sean pressed the doorbell and waited for Friya to open the door.

Friya heard it and a blooming smile came out from her lips. "It's Sean," she muttered. The evidence of excitement was in her voice. Louie nodded at her and she stood up to open the door.

Sean heard the click of the door and Friya's face sneaked outside. Sean's lips involuntarily lifted up as he went inside, pulling in Friya for a hug. He missed her, so much. Was he drifting away from her for so long?

Friya staggered back as she doesn't know what Sean was up to. She blinked several times, and her lips parted. As unsure she was, she placed her hands around his waist as Sean sighed. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth.

"I'm sorry," he whispered in a silent voice. Friya's eyes gleamed after a while as she realized it. Sean could feel it too. The change that both of them should grasp into if they wanted their relationship for keeps. If one of them let go of the thread, the other one will fall. Hard.

"You have nothing to be sorry about," Friya answered. It made Sean's arms tightened around hers and closed his eyes.

Louie noticed that Friya and Seak took too long at the door and peeked in the living room. He saw them both, hugging each other. Louie's eyes weren't surprised, but his heart ache for no reason. At that moment he knew they loved each other.

He leaned at the frame of the kitchen walls and sighed.

...

Sean and Friya went out to say goodbye to Louie. He rode a taxi cab at around 10pm, and the three of them grab a dinner altogether. Friya smiled and turned to Sean.

"My cuisine was delectable, right?" she teased Sean. He turned his head to the side and doubted it. Friya's lip quivered in an instant as she crossed her arms over her chest and went inside. She slammed the door as Sean followed suit.

Friya fumed while slipping out of her slippers. Sean gave her a back hug that time and sneak in a kiss. Friya staggered back, turning around to face Sean.

"I was kidding. You tempt to turn your back around at me?" Sean sounded like a baby. He wanted to cradle on her chest, but Friya held both side of his cheeks. She beamed at Sean for a while. He creased his forehead.

"What are you smiling at? Do you want some---"

Friya leaned in her lips, closing the gap. Sean's eyes widened a bit, but he placed his hands on her waist. He pulled her closer to his body. It made Friya slink in her hands on his shoulders and mold her lips in his.

It has been so long since she felt that touch. She realized she craved for it and she wanted to feel more. She staggered back, but Sean removed his lips from her. Friya's surprised when Sean suddenly placed his tawny arms behind her legs. He carried her, in a bridal style, and continued to kiss her lips. Friya tightened her arms around his neck as Sean walked inside.

He went to the bedroom door, pushed it, and went inside. He snaked in his lips through Friya's neck as she tilted her head back.
