Chapter 15

Saturday finally came. I put on my favorite summer dress and some make up (which I rarely do). Around 5pm, there was a knock on my bedroom door. I opened it and Josh was standing there looking stunning in his collared shirt and khakis pants. He smiled at me and my heart fluttered.

"You look beautiful tonight, Sabrina." he said.

"Thank you." I answered with a blush.

"Shall we?" asked Josh and hold out his arm for me to hold.

I nodded my head and put my hand in his arm.

We took the rickshaw into the town. It was a cool evening. The sun was setting behind the mountains.

After twenty minutes, the rickshaw stopped in front of an authentic Thai food restaurant. Josh paid the rickshaw puller and we walked into the restaurant.

It was a posh looking restaurant. The internal design of the restaurant was very beautiful. It was designed like a palace. There was a stage in the middle and there were musicians and dancers on it. They were playing and dancing to traditional Thai songs. The customers were seated around the stage. The restaurant was lit only by candles. There was a candle on our table too. It was very romantic.

The waiters came with our food once we were seated. All of them was my favorite food.

"How did they know that I love all of these? We haven't even ordered yet?" I was stunned.

Josh chuckles looking at me and said, "I came in earlier this afternoon to order the food. I do not want to keep you waiting."

I cannot help smiling to myself. Josh was so sweet and considerate. I never knew this side of him.

We started eating.

"Why are you smiling?" Josh asked.

Looking up at him I answered,"I never knew you are such a gentleman."

"A..ha...ha..ha!" Josh laugh aloud.

"Am I that bad?" he ask teasingly.

I blushed and quickly changed the subject.

"Congratulations! I heard from Aunt Helen this morning that you got excepted into the business program at the Chulalongkorn University." I said.

"Thank you." Josh replied.

"When will you be leaving for university?" I asked Josh.

"The semester will start next month," he answered.

"Then it would only be me. Henry is always busy at the hospital and you will be away in the university," I said.

"Why? Do you miss me already?" asked Josh.

I gave him a cold look and stuffed some rice into his mouth.

"How can you treat your handsome date like this?" teased Josh.

He kept teasing and making me laughed with his silly jokes throughout dinner.

After dinner, we walked towards the nearby cinema. It was just a short walked from the restaurant. Josh had bought two tickets for a musical drama called "Anna and the King of Siam". There were many people at the cinema. He bought some popcorn and drinks before the movie started.

This was the first colored movie I watched. We watched the movie in silence breaking out in laughter together during funny scenes. The movie lasted for about three hours.

"Did you enjoy the movie?" asked Josh as we walked out of the cinema.

"Yes, it was very romantic and I love the songs and dance choreography in it," I replied.

"Where are we going now?" I asked.

"Let's go for a walk by the river," suggested Josh.

"Alright." I replied.

It was a beautiful night. We were walking side by side quietly by the river.

Suddenly Josh broke the silence.

"Sabrina, I believe you know my feelings towards you. You had always been the one and only in my heart. I could not imagine living a life without you."

"I do not want to lose you to anyone. I would like to get engaged with you."

I stopped walking and looked at Josh.

"I already asked for father, mother and Chen's permission and all of them did not object, as long as you agreed and share the same feelings as mine." said Josh.

"They knew?" I was shocked to hear this.

"Yes, they knew a long time ago," answered Josh with a smile on his face.

"But how?" I asked in shock.

"A..ha..ha..ha. My parents knew long time ago my feeling towards you. Remember how I would protect you from punishment when we did something wrong? They just knew." explained Josh with a smile on his face.

"Don't you think we are still a bit young?" I asked him.

"We are getting engaged first. We can get married after both of us graduated from the university. I will wait for you," explain Josh.

Then Josh took hold of my hand and got down on his knees while taking out a ring from his pant's pocket. It was a beautiful diamond ring!

"Sabrina James Lee, I would like to take care of you and be by your side for eternally. Would you be my wife? I promised to love you now and forever." said Josh.

I was too shocked to answer. My heart was beating like a wild beast.

All I could do was nod my head and Josh put the ring onto my finger.

He stood up and gave me a gentle kiss on the forehead and carried me up in his arm. "Thank you, Sabrina for excepting me." said Josh happily before kissing me on the lips.
