From His view...

Darhl's POV,

When Brent proposed they play the game I had come up with, I thought they might not agree to it, but after he had explained the rules I made up, her friend who seemed more outgoing than she was, was the first to agree. So she asked Dale to play the game with her.

I didn't participate in playing the game, I only watched as they all played the game which sounded ridiculous even to me and I don't know how they were unable to see through it.

The contract we gave her to sign that night was not an actual contract, but we switched the signed page into that of the actual one.

We had made her believe she was getting married to Brent, until the day of the wedding, where I switched places with him. Brent was a goblin, so he was a small man as that was the nature of goblins.

We couldn't let anyone find out that she was supposed to be married to me, and we most definitely couldn't let anyone know the reasons, because that would only endanger her.

I leave in a world where I have a lot of enemies, and the list only kept piling up with each passing day. I know of people who wanted nothing but to watch me fall to the deepest part of hell.

So that's the actual reason why we had her believe she was getting married to Brent. At first, she had tried to get herself out of it, but Brent told her the contract she signed could not be breached because breaching would only cause her the lives of everyone she knows and has ever loved.

It had been just an empty threat, but Brent had tried his best to make it look like a real deal. But had she really tried just a little more harder then we would have let her off the hook easily.

I had made sure to do a thorough background check on her, and found out everything there is to know about her.

She was the second and also the last child of her parents, she had only one older brother who was doing a professional program at a University in Dubai. Her parents own an engine oil production company.

I also learned that she was currently in her final year in college where she is majoring in Events management. Brent had asked for the pictures of all her family members to be taken, so when he threatened her, he used the picture of her brother which was taken when he was just about to go into his cars in Dubai to back up the threats.

Brent had told her he was not going to meet her parents because we didn't want them to get confused at the alter when I'd switch places with Brent. We didn't know how she was able to get her parents to agree to her getting married to someone they never met but she somehow pulled it up...

After that night, I didn't see her again until the day of the wedding. I watched from where I was lurking in the darkest part of the garden.

The way she walked slowly with a frown on her beautiful face as if she was having an internal conflict, was what caused me to try to listen to her inner voice while blocking out every other voice in the room, but her head was in chaos just like I imagined, so I couldn't hear her thoughts.

I know it's rude to listen to one's thought but who gives a damn about etiquette.

However, when we switched places with Brent, she looked towards me with wide eyes and started to panic.

"Breath Glamour, Breath," she kept repeating in her head, I didn't understand why she was panicking. I looked at her to say something, but the panic stopped, it only lasted for a few seconds.

I stopped listening to her thoughts for a while until the priest asked me to kiss her.

"Like hell would I kiss that damned lips, who knows how many lips he's kissed with that," the voice in her head said.

I then smiled to myself, before turning her to face me and then I gave her a small peck on the lips. Her face looked flushed, her eyebrows furrowed, and then I heard her say something in her head but I ignored her with a smile.

"Change of plans I think I'm going to kill him tonight it can't wait any longer," she thought in her head and I chuckled at her naive thoughts, how could she think she would be able to kill a vampire, someone with more heightened senses than her. I won't blame her though, she's probably unaware of what I am.

Brent asked her friend Maya about where she thinks she might wanna go for a vacation, and she told him the Bahamas, where I also had a few businesses to take care of, so I asked Brent and Dale to make arrangements for us to go there.

Immediately after the wedding, we left for the Bahamas, our ride to the airport was a quiet one, so also our flight.

I was feeling extremely tired after the flight, a feeling that was new to me. So when we arrived, I got out of the car and went directly into the cabin without waiting for her.

I checked out all the rooms in one swift movement but found that all the rooms were empty except for one, and I knew it was a prank played by both Dale and Brent, something I'm gonna make sure they pay for.

I knew I couldn't ask her to sleep in the same room with me, so I decided to let her have the room.

After I removed my clothes and wore black joggers without putting on my clothes, I went downstairs intending to go to sleep on the sofa, but then I saw her come out of the bathroom in completely different clothes.

"Shit!," she yelled when she saw me, and then frowned, before going to lay down on the sofa.

"What are you doing," I asked her but she ignored me and turned her back to me.

I wasn't expecting her to be cool with me even after what we did to her so each time she ignored me, I didn't push her further, because I knew she'll come around I assured myself and went back into the room to lay down.

I woke up before her because I couldn't sleep for longer than an hour. when I woke up, I knew she'd be hungry so I called Dale and told him to ask Maya what her favourite meals were, which I then told Karl to get.

Karl was always in the Bahamas unless it was that time of the month and he needed to go to where I was.

However, when it was nighttime after eating the meal I ordered, I was upstairs, while also having my own meal when she threw the door open. I was facing the door, my head snapped up at the sound of the door opening.

I looked at her with a raised eyebrows, because she paused at the door before storming inside while saying that I should go sleep downstairs, and she's going to be sleeping on the bed.

I gave a sinister smile that I think she didn't see, she only eyed the crimson looking stuff I was taking wearily before going to lay down in the bed.

I wanted to tell her I'm going to sleep in the same bed as her, but then I wasn't going to sleep I have a meeting to attend so I left the room without a word and I heard her quickly get up from the bed and put a lock on the door.

I usually only have meetings at night, because my skin was super sensitive to the rays of the sun.

The meetings I had that night was about choosing a leader for the vampire community there in the Bahamas, which we were still in able to conclude.

I stayed at the club after the meeting until it was almost dawn before coming back to the cabin.

I stayed downstairs until I heard she was awake. I wanted to make a few calls so I waited to finish before getting up to go up.

Just when I was about to ascend the stairs, I saw her running down with just a towel wrapped around her delicate caramel looking skin.

She stopped and watched me for a split second before running to the bathroom downstairs to get her bag.

I shook my head and continued up the stairs to go change out of my clothes to a more comfortable one.
