Glamour's POV
Just when I had started to forget about him and how he was back to remind me of what my life had suddenly become, Maya had to just bring him up.
I can't believe she actually thinks I would be okay with having him help with the decorations.
"You know sometimes I always wonder if you fell and hit your head really hard at some point in your life," I retorted to her idea of getting Mr husband to come help.
Aside from the fact that I would like to spend as much time as I would love away from him, he also didn't look like someone who has enough time to just lay around and do nothing.
"Hey, that's rude!" She yells back and I imagined her making a pout and that made me roll my eyes.
"I'm sure He wouldn't mind tho, have you seen how he looks at you?" She went on to say making me feel like smacking some senses into her.
She's speaking as if she had no idea how this marriage came to be in the first place, and now I couldn't help but wonder if they did something to her that made her lose part of her memories about how we really met.
"Maya? Please stop making ridiculous suggestions, I'm going to figure something out before morning," I told her and she sighed over the phone before we both said goodbye and ended the call.
After dropping my phone, Maya's words kinda repeated themselves in my head and that instantly made me sad.
If it had been someone who I was in love with and who loved me in return, I'm sure I wouldn't mind working together in decorating the grand hall.
The thought of that made me feel a little sad, but I had to force the thought out of my head and figure something out as three days wasn't exactly enough time to get everything done by myself.
The workers here at home can't really be of help, and I can't hang out the decorations all by myself as I need to contact the companies bringing in the tables, and also the florist and the lighting teams.
I also had to see to it that the guest list and invitations are properly sent out so doing all that and hanging out the decorations was totally out of the question not even if Maya and Hamdi both decided to help out.
Just when I thought I might have to contact a decoration company although since this was my first event planning I wanted to do the decorations my myself, my phone started to ring and seeing there was no caller ID, made me wonder who it could be.
I was going to ignore it while thinking it was probably Mr Husband, but then I recall saving the number he called me with a few days back and I'm sure he wasn't using a different one to call me, do I answer the call but remain quiet?
I listened to the other side first so I might be able to tell who it was before speaking and when I heard the voice I couldn't help the smile that slowly lit up my face.
"Mavisha!" I exclaimed my eyes shining with sudden excitement.
"Don't you Mavisha me nothing Glam, I'm mad at you! I can't believe you got married without telling me," she muttered and my smile slowly began to fade away.
"I'm sorry Visha, things just happened too fast I didn't get to invite everyone plus I knew you were busy with projects and finals just like Hamdi," I lied even though it wasn't completely a lie.
Mavisha was a distant cousin of mine from my father's part of the family and she and he her parents lived here in California also.
She went to the same schools as Hamdi and me back when we were still in high school so we were really close even though she was my one year senior.
Mavisha was like the older sister I never heard and just gearing her voice brought back memories of the past when we all used to be happy and carefree.
"Even Hamdi didn't know about it," I added quickly trying to make my lie sound more believable with a little truth, and that made me feel kind of disgusted with my sudden found talent of telling a lie.
"Still, Glam, you could have texted, even if I'm not attending I would have called to wish you a happy married life," she said and I knew she believed the lie I told her.
"I know, I'm sorry, are you back in Cali? Hamdi told me you had a few things to do back in Dubai?" I asked wanting the conversation to shift from my life turn of events into something less heart-wrenching.
"Yeah, I got back a few days back, which was when I learnt you were married," she said and that made me press my lips tightly at her last words, but not for long as an idea suddenly popped up in my head making me smile broadly.
She was just like a God-sent solution to the problem I was just having.
"Well good thing because I have a job for you!" I exclaimed knowing she might have been taken aback by my sudden outbursts.
"Uhh, what job is that? You sound thrilled are you sure it's not some crazy ideas of yours right?" She asked and I could hear the slightest bit of hesitation in her voice.
"Oh, no honey, you need not worry, I just need you to come over as early as 7 am tomorrow let's get to work," I announced and even though I said nothing about the job I had for her, she also didn't ask and agreed to come over before the call ended.
I heaved a high sigh of relief, even if we were just four, that would go a long way than when it would have been just the three of us, and that made me feel I could suddenly fall asleep with no more worries, or at least that was what I thought before my phone started to ring...
Staring at the caller id, a frown settled on my face, what could he be calling for right now?
