Chapter 7

"What do you mean I have to change my name?" I asked him.

"We don't use our real names. It helps keep our identity safe from those people so they don't track us down," he said.

"So your name isn't really Ash then?" I asked giving him a questioned look.

" No it's not. We based our names off of the color of our wolf form. For example my color is a light silver with some dark spots, so I came up with the name Ash. And Gray is a normal looking grey wolf, but his name is spelt differently from the actually color."

"So what about the others? Patch, Eve, Stitch?" I asked wanting to know more.

"Patch is a white wolf with beige spots all over. Eve is a black wolf with white specks of fur. And Stitch," he said pausing to let out a slight chuckle. "Stitch isn't name from his color, even though he is a grey wolf like Gray, but he's called that because of a giant scar he has on his side."

"I thought werewolves had healing powers," I said to him.

"Well his scar was caused by experiments that were done to him," he told me with a stern look.

"So to change my name I have to know my color first right?" I asked trying to change the subject.

"It'll be a while before we figure that out. You still have a while before you can fully transform. Full moons help the process go fast but one has passed recently, so it'll be a long process but it'll be worth it in the end," he said moving into the kitchen. "Once you have gain full control of the change you will be able to transform whenever you want. Now it'll be lunch soon. Would you like to help me think of something?"

"Sure."

We both sat in the kitchen and talked about what to do for lunch. Since I woke up late I didn't feel like eating a heavy meal. So we decided to just have some meat, cheese and crackers and just make little sandwiches with them. As we were preparing everything I had something on my mind that was bugging me.

"So I just have one question about transforming," I said as I placed the crackers on a platter.

"And what would that be?" Ash asked turning towards me.

"When you said that after I gain full control I can transform anytime I want. So how does transforming into a wolf work exactly?"

"How about I show you after we have all eaten?" He suggested to me.

I nodded my head and helped finished putting all the food on the platter. Ash opened the back door and yelled over to Gray to let him know that lunch was ready. When he came in we sat at the dining table and ate. After the food was gone Ash whispered something to Gray, and he nodded in acknowledgement. I didn't think much of it, if it was meant for me to hear Ash would've told me. Ash cleaned up and told me to wait outside by the shed. I headed out the door and waited by the shed. A few minutes later both Ash and Gray came walking out.

"What's going on?" I asked sounding a bit concerned.

"Well you wanted to know how the transformation worked so that's what I'm gonna do," he said with a smile as he patted Gray's back. "Well I'm not, but Gray here volunteered."

Gray let out a small laugh and Ash came and stood beside me.

"Okay Gray, whenever your ready," Ash said as he crossed his arms.

"Prepare to be amazed," Gray said with a bit of sarcasm as he smiled at me. Both me and Ash gave a small laugh.

Gray got down on all fours and started to sweat, a lot. Then his body started to twitch. I moved to walk towards him but Ash put his arm in front of me blocking my path.

"He's fine," he said with a hushed voice.

I stepped back and continued to watch. After a couple of seconds his skin started to tear off his body. I looked away so I couldn't see it anymore. Ash noticed I looked away and put his hand on my shoulder to comfort me. I could still hear the sounds of the skin tear and his bones moving. I tried to block them out but it was no use. And then it went silent. Ash gave my shoulder a nudge and walked towards where Gray was. I slowly turned to look at where Gray was but only to not see Gray there at all. Standing beside Ash was a wolf. A grey wolf
