"Why'd you even let him in?!"
I woke up from the sun hitting on my skin and the loud conversations from outside the room. Their voices are muffled but I can understand them a bit. A voice of a woman and
"Do you think I really have control on that? And stop shouting, you will wake him up- "
"And who do you think got him in that position? Who made him fainted?" I got up and rubbed my eyes. "Creed, try harder, okay?"
I sighed and waited for my eyes to adjust in the light and when it did, I feel like fainting again. I stepped back, trembling in fear as I stare at the sketch of my face with an X on it, the butterfly knife is stabbed on the upper part of the paper, making the paper glued on the wall.
"H-He's a devil!" I shouted, the door slammed open and revealed the devil. "D-Don't you dare get near me, you devil!"
I threw a pillow on him, even the blanket, and started screaming again when he dodged it and walk towards me instead.
"Nooo- "
"Oh, shut up. I'm not the devil, okay?" He sighed and calmly raised his wrist where his grey bracelet was visible.
"Oh!" I let put a breath and kneel on the floor, finally feeling so relieved. Then, I muttered, "Creed..."
Silence was coating the room and he looked bothered for the first time so I hold on the bed frame to support myself from standing. I looked at him and noticed the calmness in his eyes. He really is Creed.
"Don't worry, Cassius only appears once a week." Then he turned his back on me, walking towards the door. "Mom wants to see you. Come,"
"Okay!"
I forgot for a second that this house is so huge that I think we walked for 10 minutes before we arrived at the end of the hallway where there's a wooden door. Creed knocked three times before twisting the doorknob.
"Mom." He called calmly and the woman sitting elegantly on the table with her legs crossed looked at him and then at me. He motions the door and Creed got out, still calm and composed.
"M-Madame!" I bowed.
My heart skipped a beat in nervous.
"Sit down." She said calmly, gettong off of the table and sitting on the sofa in the mini-living room. I sat down on the sofa in front of her, a glass coffee table seperating the two sofas. "I heard you met Cassius...?"
"I-I did, Madame. And I want to back ou- "
"Is promise really made to be broken?" She asked, getting a folder on the glass table and flipping the pages.
"N-Not at all, Madame." I answered looking down.
What I hate the most is breaking a promise. Especially the promises I made.
"$85 a week and scholarship in Dawson University. The scholaship depends on how long you serve my eldest son." She, then, put the folder back and get another two folders. "Here is the contract of work, the scholarship, and the payment while this one is Creed and Cassius' informations and schedules. School starts in two weeks, you decide so I can make a call on the University. And oh, you will be studying the same course as my son."
I blinked.
And then my jaw dropped.
"D-Dawson University's tuition is..." I feel so conflicted!
"$10,000 per sem. Two sems a year." She said, nodding her head like she expected my reaction. "Apparently, scholarships includes joining a sport team and I can't let you join since you have to focus on my son. So, I will be paying your tuition."
"H-Huh? But, if I serve your son for years- "
"You can serve my son until you two graduates. Money is not a problem." She shrugged.
"Why me, though?" was the only thing I can ask.
No one has ever offered me that sum of money! And never in my life I imagine studying at an elite, famous school since I'm beautifully broke as hell. I can only afford a public school where I can study for free but I'm still short of money when it comes to buying books and stuffs I needed since I'm paying for my monthly rent, too.
"Well, it was my ever first time to see Cassius panicking." She even smiled. "I mean, when you fainted, all I can hear is his shouting voice. Gone the ruthless attitude, he was there walking back and forth, shouting my name as he carried you in his arm like a little bird taking a nap on the body of a wolf."
My eyes widened in embarrassment. I can even feel my cheeks burning when I heard what she said. It sounded like I was a damsel in distress yesterday when I fainted and I was saved by a monster! Well, I was but then I remembered my sketched face with an X marked in his room.
"Anyways, I really, really need your help when it comes to Cassius. He may act and look so ruthless but I know, deep inside, he just want somebody who can understand him."
Madame, how can I understand him when his actions are so unreadable! I can't even talk to him without trembling eversince he said he'll kill me.
"Amd he's still Creed. My Creed..." The hope in her voice melted me. "Deep inside, my Cassius is still my Creed."
"I understand, Madame."
A mother's love is powerful that nothing can come between. It's so powerful that it can make a simple guy a man with so much passion and worth.
I lost and I just hope I won't regret this.
'Oh, I already regretting this!' I shouted on my mind when I saw Cree- Cassius leaning on the wall beside his bedroom's door. His eyes are pitch-black, dilating in cruelty.
"Starting to pack your things up?" He smirked. My pace starting to slow when he stands, walking towards me. He's smirking but his eyes screams heartless. "Should I give you a goodbye present?"
"We need to talk." I said, gathering all my strengths. "I would accept your cruelty after. Just talk to me for a minute- "
"You're ordering me like you own me again." he said irritably. "No one owns me but me so shut the fuck u- "
"I'll make you coffee of your own choice after." I said, secretly hoping for this heartless and stubborn man to give in. "You can help me prepare the ingredients, too- "
"Shut up, barbie." My eyes widened at his insult and I was about to give him an insult back but stopped when he opened his room's door. "Get in before I change my mind."
He really does love coffee.
"Talk." He commanded like a boss.
"S-So..." My eyes wandered around his room, looking away from him since he started playing tricks with his silver butterfly knife! "I want to have conditions with you."
"Conditions?" He nodded, smirking.
"Yeah, conditions like don't ever appear ever again- I was joking! Oh, my fuck! I was joking!" I shouted as the knife flew pass by me. So close and fast I felt the air's impact on my ear. "Goodness. I was joking!"
"How 'bout I kill you? I would be laughing- "
"I'm sorry, okay? Jeez..." Now, I feel more guilty than scared. People's life shouldn't be joked at. "Anyways, I would like to inform you that I will be serving your for years and you can order me anything you want me to do since I'm your personal servant. It's just that, don't hit me or harm me. I treasure my life- "
"And? Why don't you say this to Creed?" He said as if Creed's not him.
"You are Creed so I'm telling this to you." I sighed. "I will be accepting Madame's offer to be your personal servant. You also informed me about your personality. I'll be at your side and you'll be at my care."
I bowed.
"I hope you tell me things I need to know about you- "
"Why would I do that?" I raised my head and looked at him. He was looking at me with expressionless face which reminded me of Creed. I looked at his bracelet and flinched when I saw that it was still red. "Apparently, I'll make your life a living hell. Be thankful if Creed's the one you're with."
My jaw dropped when he started walking towards his bed.
"Get out of here. Our talk's over. I can take care of myself so I don't need your fucking care." His voice was so cold I feel like freezing.
My shoulders dropped in hopelessness. I opened his room's door and was about to get out when he spoke, shocking me.
"And bring my coffee..."
A smile appeared on my lips before I went out.
Creed. Cassius. They're literally the same. Both is unreadble and not easy to handle even though one is calm. They just won't let me in and I have to work harder to deserve the money I'll get.
Lord, Please guide me.
