Only royals had the privilege of understanding and learning the art of war since young. This was one of the reasons why all throughout the history the greatest warriors were always royals in one form or the other. It was not because they were better for thousands of years, but because they had made it so that the rest would never be able to perform. The few commoners that went on to become great warriors in history were God-blessed and constantly fighting and training without the rest and privilege that was otherwise easy for a royal to come across.
