Chapter 27: Kararagi

~Third POV~

As soon as Tatsumi camp was sleeping for the next day to arrive the commotion done by Tatsumi and Beatrice attacks against the Witch Cultist didn't go unnoticed.

Everywhere in the four kingdoms heard an attack that caused massive shockwaves coursing throughout the area to be heard.

Naturally, this brought the attention of certain individuals to see what has happened.

For those who found out, it was like something from the heavens has struck the cultist dead in their tracks seeing numerous craters and destroyed weapons belonging to Witch Cultist.

Those who have seen the event happening were naturally wanting to know what happened decided to search for the one responsible.

As the next day came Tatsumi and Beatrice made a temporary leave with their group as they both left in the morning with him using his [Dark Speed] to go to the nation of Kararagi in search to find the Sin Archbishop of Greed using a book of the map Beatrice had in her library.

Their way of travel was through the sky high above the clouds heading towards their direction.

Heading there they both managed to see the nation of Kararagi the city of Greed in Tatsumi's eyes.

The Kararagi City-States usually referred collectively as Kararagi, is one of the four great nations of the world it is known for being a center of trade across the continent and its proto-capitalistic market structure.

Many of its citizens are heavily individualistic in nature, leading to the rise of businesses and free enterprise.

The region is described to resemble Japan, specifically the early-modern period feudal society of Japan, along with influences from other eras and regions such as the German Hanseatic League.

This is seen in Kararagi's architecture, style of dress, cuisine, naming customs, and even its particular speech style.

The area is also noted for its high and socially mobile Demi-Human population, implying that one's race matters very little in your status, unlike in top-down true feudal societies such as the one in Lugnica; only your assets count.

The country is almost anarchist-capitalist to its core, morality can be thrown out of the window. The lack of centralized governance certainly lends its hand however rather than some fundamental ideological nature of extreme greediness.

The economy is most likely driven by normal trades such as agriculture and craftwork, but also hosts very unpleasant though profitable trades such as prostitution, slavery, contract killings, trafficking, and mercenary work.

Slavery is legal in most parts of Kararagi. However, it is illegal to enslave someone in the town of Banan whose existence is secured, and conversely, it's legal to enslave street children as long as you're not seen doing so.

Mercenary organizations are abundant in Kararagi, so it can be assumed that the governing of the country hire their armies rather than drawing from feudal lords.

Kararagi's private military is the Fang of Iron which is currently owned by Anastasia Hoshin and lead by the captain of the Fang of Iron Ricardo Welkin.

They are in charge of both trading supplies to other cities and countries, and service in the front lines of battle.

Another Kararagi's mercenary organization is called the Scratch of Silver, a mercenary group that is full of demi-humans.

Shinobi, or Ninja, are skilled spies and assassins based out of Kararagi that are known to be employed by other powers.

Currently, as Tatsumi and Beatrice found the location of the city they both decided that they needed money to spend luckily for them Tatsumi still has Toga'a phone with him as he decided it was time to turn it in for Holy Coins…

~Tatsumi POV~

Damn, I have to admit this place certainly feels different from the rest I have seen of this world so far.

Everything here is so unique with its culture to its people.

Wandering around the place with Beatrice on my side I managed to see what kind of place this is like here.

Seeing all the demi-humans and beast people is certainly an odd sight to behold but I do need money at the moment seeing that I'm planning to buy some stuff from this world.

Although once Regulus is dealt with, I could probably take his home for myself in the future.

Yeah.

I'll go with that idea for the time being since it's already furnished at the ready.

Looking at the area of this city I couldn't help but be wary of this place since moral rules don't apply here so I have to be careful around these parts.

These buildings are really unique and the stores here are definitely odd, but the people's eyes are something I noticed they look a bit greedy for my liking.

As I was walking around the place, I was searching around the city of Kararagi specifically searching for a building actually to sell the phone.

The Hoshin Trading Company.

I know that place is own by one of Emilia's rivals for the throne of the Kingdom of Luginca, Anastasia Hoshin.

If there is any way that I can get more Holy Coins from this place it would be through her she would accept any deal so long as it profits her some way or another plus, I'm a bit interested in seeing the Iron Fang organization.

As I and Beatrice were walking our way around one of the cities of Kararagi we both noticed that we were getting followed by a suspicious group of people tailing us.

They were being very discrete about it.

Beatrice then answers me through our contract with the black crystal pendant we wear, 'I suspected we were about to get followed by other people Tatsumi I do apologize for that in fact.'

Huh?

I'm so lost by what betty meant here what did she mean it was her fault?

Confused by what Beatrice said I thought to her in a confused voice, 'Huh? Beatrice, I don't understand how these thugs would be after you anyway?'

But my answer was a sigh from her as she responds to me what she meant that I quickly understood why these guys are greedy I mean can literally feel their emotions with my [Authority of Wrath: Wrath], 'Tatsumi you idiot! You forgot that in the past there were plenty of people interested in my library knowledge some wanted me to be their [Formal Contract] to help them or just use me to get the library since then only I began a rumor of sorts of people wanting me to use my library I suppose.'

Ah!

Now I understand a bit more honestly, I kind of forget that Beatrice is a celebrity of the impossible for anyone to have.

Although now that people know that she is out and about with me around…

I guess I should expect some rumors to spread soon about her being taken and some stalkers coming around after her.

However, it doesn't change the fact that these people are wanting something from me.

Glancing back at them I used my newest Authority on me.

Returning myself to my direction I used my [Authority of Sloth: Unseen Hand] to summon up to my max limit of 10 hands without tiring myself a lot but they will do.

The [Unseen Hands] all went towards the group after me and Betty as the hands got to their ankles or wrist and twisted them enough to back off as I use my [Authority of Wrath: Wrath] focusing them on their sense of pain to increase.

I didn't bother looking to spare a glance as I heard the thudding sounds of people falling.

Ha!

That is a lesson as to not be too greedy you bastards!

With that, I and Beatrice managed to ignore the commotion as we finally follow the correct path to find the Hoshin Trading Company.

The Hoshin Trading Company was originally called the Ryuushika Business Association, which Anastasia used to be a member of, until she bought them and renamed the company, taking over as the president in the process.

Since then she has used her business skills to make it grow into a major power within Kararagi and it is currently the Fang of Iron's base of operations.

As I finally made my way there I managed to see two characters of them here although I'm more surprised seeing her knight is here.

The first one I see was Ricardo the captain of the Fang of Iron.

Ricardo is a large wolfin with two large tusks hanging from the sides of his mouth he has green eyes, a muscular build, and is covered with short brown body fur with an oblong, dark-brown mane which he adorns as a Mohican with two small red braids coming from the sides of his mane and has tan-color fur on his chest, biceps, mouth, and palms, and he has a dark-brown beard.

Ricardo wears long, black toeless pants, black arm guards, and white wrappings under his dark-colored clothes on his arms and waist along with an orange belt and he also wears a shoulder guard that has a logo representing the Hoshin Trading Company.

As I made my presence here, I see that Ricardo looked at me with a curious look then to Beatrice with surprise in his voice, "Huh? Hello, their stranger I see that you came here interested in… Hold up! Is that the Spirit of the Library Beatrice?!"

Next was the six-spirit arts master or in training at least Julius Juukulius Anastasia Knight.

Julius is a tall young man of a well-built muscular stature with yellow eyes and gleaming violet hair that is arranged neatly with a strand hanging down his face He is wearing his formal Royal Guard uniform.

Julius looks at me as if analyzing me before he says to me carefully it seems towards me then looks surprised to see Betty, "Hmm… hello their stranger what seems to be your visit here today… Oh? I see that you have the Library Spirit Beatrice to be with you did you perhaps made a [Formal Contract] with her?"

Glancing at Betty I couldn't help is that she really is that famous?

As if hearing my question Betty smirks at me with a high and might look towards me for her recognition.

While in return I look at her with a blank look as I think to myself in a blank tone, 'Nope I think that was my imagination going wild there.'

Returning myself to reality I held out Toga phone as I shown the both of them what I wanted to do is to sell it, "Hello there the names Tatsumi I was wondering if I can sell this Meita here for some Holy Coins I had it appraised to know that its somewhere around worth 20 or more Holy Coins if I sold here since it's a one of a kind item."

Soon enough I explained to them what I said to Rom during my time in the central capital of Luginca as they were awed by my item.

I should really get Toga a gift for helping me out maybe a magic weapon here would be nice.

As I finished explaining to them Julius waves his hand to me as to motion to follow him inside the building as I enter inside.

Well I really didn't know how to describe the Fang of Iron base is similar to Erza Fairy Tail in their own brand of fun.

Smirking at this Erza and the rest of the guild would have a blast with the Fang of Iron.

As I was viewing the demi-humans enjoying their fun I was interrupted by Julius as he asks me to bring myself back to reality, "Excuse Tatsumi, but the leader would like to discuss with you the deal of item for a reasonable price."

Nice.

It looks like I got Anastasia attention now with that I entered inside the building to see an office room with two seats as I and Beatrice took one as Julius closes the door and views the transaction between me and Anastasia.

Anastasia is a petite woman with blue green eyes and long, wavy purple hair that extends to her hips. She wears a long white dress with a fur hat and scarf along with a large purse shaped like a wallet.

She also wears a star-shaped hairpin on her hair and a small teal pendant around her neck and she is described to have cute looks and an aura similar to a small animal.

Seeing her in person I see she smiles at me but gets into a more professional business-like manner as she says to me, "Welcome Tatsumi to the Hoshin Trading Company I'm the head of this organization Anastasia Hoshin it's a pleasure to make a deal with you for that Meita in your hands and I'm more than willing to pay for it after what my Knight Julius has heard about it."
