Bad Dream (Pt. 1 and 2)

After laughing for a bit longer, Maxine and I sat on the couch thinking about our day. "They like you." Maxine said; breaking the silence and laid her head on my lap. "Huh?" Is all I can manage to say through a few minutes of my confusion I keep thinking of what she said.

"Peirce and Liam." Maxine responded after seeing my confusion as she looks up to me. "What about them?" I mused, browsing for something to watch on Netflix.

"They like you!" Maxine exclaimed, grabbing the sides of my neck as she's still laying on my lap. "Wait, what!?" I asked shook. Maxine sat back up to look at me. "No they don't! Liam is my bestfriend and Peirce is in a relationship with Cherry!" I said while listing out all the possible reasons I had of why they don't in my head.

"Mmhmm..Right...." Maxine said sarcastically. "Hey, this show looks interesting. How about we watch it!" I pointed to the T.V to change the topic. "Yeah it looks cool I guess." Maxine mumbled visibly tired. "We don't have to watch anything if you're tired." I said stating the obvious while putting down the remote to look at her.

"No let's watch it, it looks good." Maxine yawned, pulling a blanket over her to lay on me.

"Okay." I said, yawning. By the finish of episode one I felt like my eyelids weighed more than I do and I fight hard to not fall asleep, but by the end of episode three, both Maxine and I are wide away. It is currently 12 am and while the show continues to play the beginning of episode six, I looked at Maxine.

"What is it?" Maxine asked, returning my look. "How did you know I wanted to ask something?" I asked confused. "Nevermind that, just ask me the question." She answered in response. "Okay, how are..you and Marc if I may ask."

"We aren't talking and probably won't be for a long time." Maxine answered bluntly. "Oh..Is it because of last weekend?" I asked. "Listen I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been there if I wasn't it wouldn't have happened." I answered myself, not waiting for her to answer.

"You shouldn't be, why would you think it's you fault anyway? He deserved it and I was over him treating me like I was nothing to him." Maxine frowned. However, I'm still unsure if she means it or is just trying to make me feel better.

"If I was mad at you then why would I have invited you to go with me to the mall after school?" Maxine rolled her eyes and laid down next to me exhausted. Feeling like I didn't need to answer, I drifted asleep.

Opening my eyes, I am in the middle of a triangle and around me at different points of the shape are Liam, Peirce, and Maxine. They are staring at me blankly. Not knowing what to do, I tried to move, but I couldn't. All I can do is look around. What do I do? "Choose." They said in unison. "What?" I asked out of confusion, trying to move again. "Pick one of us." They said together again.

Water started to rise around me and they disappeared. Now, I am in school alone. I find Liam so I tap his shoulder and when I did he turned around. "You like him, don't you." His voice echoed around me as I look around me and see several Liam's surrounding me all repeating the same thing.

"It isn't like that I swear!" I screamed and fell starting to cry as they continued their voices growing louder until it all stopped and the world started engulfing me into the floor.

This time, I am at Maxine's driveway and see me on my knees crying as I did earlier and she is consolidating me. Then it goes dark and I can't see clearly, as a haze grows around me.

Pt 2.

The fog grows thicker and breathing is hard, but I can now start to move.I looked around me unsure of where I am. "Is anyone there?" I called out through the fog. When I get closer to something, the fog drifts away and I see Peirce with Cherry.

As I am there, they start kissing and I am shocked. "H-hello?" My voice broke.

Despite hearing me, neither of them turned around so I reached out to touch him, but as I do my fingers go through him.

"What is happening?" I asked as water rises around me. Opening my eyes I am in the same triangle again.

"Choose." They chanted over and over again and as I began looking around I see Maxine, Liam, and Peirce all on the sides of the triangle, but can't find a way out...

"Which one is it going to be?" They asked, saying it at different times and they began moving closer to the middle of the triangle where I am.

As they all stare at me, I squatted down covering my ears and closing my eyes wishing for it to go away.

"Leave me alone!" I screamed while still covering my ears with my eyes closed. Their voices turned into murmurs and when I finally opened my eyes I am falling.

When I landed I woke up, gasping for breath and I sway my legs over the edge of the couch rubbing my face with my hands. I felt clammy and seem to have been sweating.

"It's ok, it was just a bad dream." I said trying to soothe myself to regain composure while my heart feels like it's doing backflips getting ready to launch out of my chest. I look at a clock on the wall next to the T.V and it reads 5:00 am.

"Great..Guess I'm starting the day early." I mumbled to myself.
