Deepest Shadow

The orphanage was quiet after breakfast on Saturday morning, Jace decided they played basketball. Sport was one of her favorites thing to do because it helps her think and release stress also.


She has tried to avoid any form of contact with her roommate Kira as well as Evan for the past few days, her days had been jumbled with lots of weird stuff and the last thing she had wanted to do was get herself involved with Getty's spies.


Just the thought of it made her guts bitter, she had watched them in the distance walking and spending the rest of the day together, she didn't know why but she couldn't deny the fact she felt angry seeing them together every day.


"Hey, Bedelia! Jace caught her attention as he threw the ball into the net, she only stood there and tried to make sense of what just happened.  


"You was your mind! Jace grabbed the ball back immediately after it hit the ground.


" What were you thinking? he asked bouncing the ball in front of her to rekindle her energy.


"Nothing" Bedelia answered and snatched the ball swiftly from Jace and made a toward the net just when she was about to make her move, she caught a glimpse of him staring at her behind the court.


And unconsciously it made the ball drop from her hand and Jace accidentally bumped into her which sent her falling onto her knees.  


"Bedelia, are you alright? Jace asked and bent over to check for any injury but found none. 


"Here, let me help you" he stood and stretched his hand toward her but her eyes were focused on the male body approaching them. 


"Do you need a hand? He asked standing over her in seconds, she could only mesmerize him for a moment before staring at the two outstretched hands in front of her. 


What was wrong with her and why was she hesitating to take Jace's? The looked over at him curiously and then at Evan, she was insanely attracted to him but was conscious not to make any silly moves.


" I can stand, the both of you! She said slapping Evan's hand away as she stood on her feet.


"What do you want? She demanded but still...could hear her racing heartbeat, what was happening to her?  But instead of speaking to her, Evan turns in Jace's direction.


" I want to join the game," Evan said as he locked gazes with Jace, he just can't stand the both of them together. He had tried to turn a blind eye over them both but it seems impossible to do not when they were thus close to each other.


"Me too" Kira interrupted as she hopped happily into their midst "It'll be fun and interesting since we could divide into a team"


"No, we don't want that! Bedelia snapped, she didn't want to be close to him not when she was feeling this weird. 


" Are you scared that we're going to beat you guys...Mhmmm?  Evan raised his eyebrows and stared amusingly at her, was this fool challenging her?
