Chapter 26: The Road to Duncameron

SEAMUS

The next morning Healer Goodwyn insisted on walking with Seamus to the blacksmith's stables to see him off. Seamus was genuinely quite sad to say good-bye to her and Smith Brown. Although he would never make a good blacksmith himself, he had enjoyed his first ever paying job and, if his pay was anything to go by, Smith Brown had appreciated his work. Healer Goodwin had opened her home to him and he took pride in helping her over the last six-day. It gave him hope to know he could find some sort of life outside of Hand. It was difficult saying good-bye to them both.

The rest of the travelling party was already outside the stables when they arrived. The head of the group was a seasoned caravan boss everyone simply called, "Boss". He was a large, heavily muscled man with a weathered face that was all stern until he smiled. Then it was like the sun had come out from behind a cloud.
