Chapter 32: Wizard In Training

SEAMUS

'No one does it the first time,' Walter assured him. 'Don't think of the pulse as being separate from you, think of it as your lifeblood, and that it has channels to move along to the end of your fingers.'

Seamus began again. At first he managed to move the pulse to his arms, but was so surprised he lost his hold. He kept trying until he finally managed to get the pulse to his fingers. He could hear from Walter's voice that he was pleased with his progress.

'Now slowly bring the pulse back to the centre.' This process also took a number of tries before Seamus could send the pulse down to his fingers and back to the centre. When he achieved it he opened his eyes to find Walter smiling, and he himself couldn't help but grin.
