Daniel sat forward in his chair. 'I believe we could - '


'I believe the king can manage to deal with them.' Amelia stopped Daniel mid-flow, trying to move the conversation on to more relevant topics. 'In fact, Caraig travelled with us and remained with the Port Marden garrison to assist your father and the admiral with keeping the Carstenites from landing.'


Daniel slipped back, the wind taken from his sails. Clearly he wanted to be in the thick of the action, but knew he was also needed here. As she continued Amelia softened her tone. 'We need to focus on dealing with the larger threat, finding the god and preventing him from completing his plan. Do you know where our enemy is now?'


'No.' Seamus was once again all business.
