Chapter 108: A New Friendship

ALIAH

While Seamus outlined their approach to working through the scrolls in Hand's oldest library, Aliah took the opportunity to observe Amelia. Although she met the other woman only recently, she respected her as a strong, independent soul. Now, her dark hair was peppered with a little more grey, and her once brown eyes were more opaque. Tension around those eyes told Aliah maintaining the facade she was still in control was not completely effortless.

Of course she had lost her sight, and so many of her movements showed a hesitancy not previously there, although she did seem to be able to easily identify who spoke. Her questions were insightful, and kept them all focused on the subject at hand when they drifted off onto more interesting topics.
